GMOboarder This Grow will be an experiment testing 3 things:
- How does 13h of Light affect the yield / Buds
- Does Living Soil work with VERY small pots? (last grow with 12-13L was successful)
- How do I like auto watering? (will be away for 3 weeks, so this will really put it to a test)
Germination was done between two wet cotton pads in a zipper on a heat mat @28C.
Honestly I much prefer this method over the glass of water I've done in the past. This way it was way faster and more reliable.
First seed germinated but never came out the EazyPlug. My attempt to check what's going on inside the plug broke its fragile root. xD
For the second seed I prepared a small 200ml pot from which it came out just 1 day after putting it in.
GMOboarder Transplanted into final pot. It is a modified 8L Autopot; cut down to ~5L. Filled with 4L living soil, topped with alfalfa pellets and hay.
Had a few issues: RH went up to 74% for a few days resulting in water burn spots on 4 leaves. Changed RH to 60% now.
Additionally, being used to fabric pots I overwatered it a little.

GMOboarder This week mostly was a preparation for my absence:
- switched to 12/12 on day 17
- Heating leveled
- Autopot tank prepared & tested
- Added a timed Airstone inside to avoid algae
- Dehumidifier timed
- Compost tea (500ml water, 5g kompost mix,
8g worm castings, 30ml fermented banana extract,
2 teaspoons IMO4, 0,2ml Yucca) brewed and watered.
Hoping for a good 3 weeks during my vacation and that my secret minion will train it properly during that time. thx btw 😜
See ya in 3 weeks!

GMOboarder Made a big mistake with the Autopot: forgot to add the needed 50% Perlite,
which made the soil suck up water WAY too much, resulting in very wet soil 24/7.
In hindsight, that may not have worked either way, as only 2L of living soil would for sure be to less of material to produce enough nutrients.
Decided to do hand watering going forward.
Final LST, HST & defoliation done after she stopped streching.

GMOboarder Slowly added an additional hour of light after the stretch finished to check if this increases yield.
Blueberry terps coming through lately :P
Pot size is starting to show. Plant grows more or less healthy, but it has rather small fan leaves.
Rather restrained growth and she seems a little weak after all.
Will def. switch back to a bigger pot next time. Even if it means hand watering.

GMOboarder Gave her a composttea this week.
But she is really showing definiencies now. I still think the small pot wasn‘t a good Idea.

GMOboarder plant shows various advanced signs of deficiencies.
Could be misfeeding, but I did the same schedule as I did successfully before.
Therefore I still believe the small pot size is at fault.
Aside from that, the 13h light cycle seems to prolong the flowering period.
The colas are still swelling up with a few foxtails here and there and only very few hairs turning brown.
In sight of above mentioned deficiencies, I'm considering reducing lighting hours to speed up the process.

GMOboarder Meanwhile it is foxtailing hard. As I‘m not running crazy temps, this is likely caused by the 13h of light. Reduced now back to 12h and hoping she will survive another week or so (trichs are mostly milky, no amber yet)
Grow had its ups and downs, but I learned a lot with my experiments, which were:
- How does 13h of Light affect the yield / Buds?
CONCLUSION: Colas seem to get bigger, but mainly due to the induced foxtailing,
which at the same time delays the plant from finishing properly.
I may do it again, but switch back to 12h latest from week 7 of Flower to avoid these extreme foxtails.
- Does Living Soil work with VERY small pots (4L in this case)?
CONCLUSION: No. Nutrient deficiencies/buildups make it really hard to balance things out.
Will definitely switch back to at least 12L again next time.
- How do I like auto watering?
CONCLUSION: I didn‘t properly read Autopot‘s insctructions and forgot to add the needed 40-50% perlite which resulted in an extremely wet soil, rendering the auto watering useless.
Thinking about the perlite, it reduces the useable amount of living soil by nearly half the volume. Therefore I‘d use at least the 35L if not the 50L Pots. However these won‘t fit the MiniGrow then.
For the future growing in this minibox I will switch back to hand watering or try the Bluemats I have lying around somewhere next time.
As for the strain, the Blueberry terps are quite strong and I cannot wait how they turn out once dried.
Will definitely grow this once again in a bigger tent with proper living soil conditions.
UPDATE: I can say, that I'm not a big fan of blueberry terps. As for the strain it is solid and its terps really strong, but it's just not for me.
Absolutely beautiful plant!
Amazing color 🌈 perfect structure 🌿 frosty vibes ❄️ and clearly full of love ❤️
