Orange Creampop came as a freebie with the Squirt order, and honestly I didn’t have much faith in it. I didn’t take clones because I was more interested in Squirt, and that’s the part I regret now. It stayed compact the whole run, around 100 cm with no real stretch, and had zero problems. It started flowering a bit earlier than Squirt, so it got a little more maturation, but I think it could have used another week too. The yield was pretty high for such a small plant. I’d probably grow it again. The buds are dense and big, almost twice the size of the average Squirt bud, green with purple tips, frosty, sticky and a bit spongy. Still slightly humid after one week. Dry, it’s citrus and deeply sweet, like a segment of a very sweet orange, even a bit chemical, with some cream already there. Intensity 10. There’s some spice very low, and still a hint of hay after only one week of cure. The skunk I smelled during flower seemed mostly gone, but grinding brings it back, so it was just locked inside the bud. Ground, the orange shifts toward skunk, the cream stays at the same level and the spice turns more herbal. Still a 10. The dry pull is orange and cream with something spicy, and the chemical side becomes obvious: a very intense Fanta, almost like powdered orange juice. It finishes slightly bitter and spicy, like orange peel, which keeps all that sweetness from getting cloying. Once lit, the chemical part fades, the orange stays and the cream comes up. The spice sits low in the background without bothering. On the exhale some of the funk comes back with a soft acidity, and the aftertaste is orange. The smoke is super smooth for one week of cure. The ash is on the darker side, probably from the moisture still in it. Compared to Squirt it’s a different story. In Squirt the parents show up in stages, Tangie cold and the Muffin side only with heat. Orange Creampop is more linear. The cream is there from the start and the orange holds from the jar to the aftertaste, louder, sweeter and rounder. Effect is pending. I’ll test it on a separate day so it doesn’t get mixed up with the Squirt. Will update.

Overall, it was an easy strain to grow. One of the phenos has a sweeter, more fruity smell, while the other pheno is more gas-forward (this was also the one that showed some herming at the beginning). Structuraly both phenos were pretty much identical, with the fruity one feeling slighty stickier. I’ll update this with more details once I’ve finished drying and curing and can properly test the final results. On the smoke side, this strain is absolute fire. I would describe the gassy pheno first. Dense buds, decent trichome coverage and good resine production: nothing surprising there. Break one open and the first thing that hits is diesel, raw, sour gas. Behind that, a floral note. Not sweet floral, more herbal, perfumed, something that competes with the gas instead of softening it. Pungent in the literal sense too, saturates the nose fast. On the exhale the diesel holds, the mint note shows up late, almost as an afterthought. Not much sweetness underneath, which sets it apart from the heavy cake-leaning profiles this cross is supposed to carry. Effect comes on slow, head clear at first, then a body relax that never quite tips into sedation but can be a bit fun at times.

Dense, closed structure. Hairy. Green dominant, very sticky to the touch, still carrying a bit of moisture, but already announcing itself before you even break it open. Pungent sweet at rest. Dry aroma: sweet, gas with cream up front. Underneath there is sulfur and skunk. Intensity of smell 9 out of 10. Complex but not scattered. Ground, it shifts. The skunk and gas take over, what was compact opens up into something more direct. Same profile, just louder. Lit, the skunk holds. Flavor goes sweet with an unexpected menthol note, arriving only with heat. Dense smoke, full-bodied, not harsh. Goes down clean. The onset is fast. Hits the forehead first with subtle pressure around the eyes, cerebral before anything else. Then the body settles in quietly underneath. Deep and comfortable, awake anf functional, but in a weird way. The kind of high that keeps you present without letting you be particularly useful.
