Spector76 Switched to 3.5 gallon bucket. One of the 2 have started to bud. Roots are thriving - growing out of net pot into 3.5 gallon bucket. Using frozen water bottles as chillers. Hope to harvest something from these as they were mutilated weeks ago.

Spector76 Roots are growing much faster. Bud stacking is starting. Plant is so small can only hope things beef up. Again I’m lucky to have anything considering I chopped its head off in its prime. Autos aren’t forgiving when it comes to time… so, flowering it is, and I can only hope it fattens up nicely, supported by its healthy root system that’s developed and getting stronger daily. Still using a 3.5 gallon bucket, as plant is so small it was a waste in a 5 gallon. Might move it if I see it start to explode and drink more. Right now it’s not drinking too heavily.

Spector76 March 10: Plant is taking off since last week. Stretching, budding sites, roots. Roots exploded in growth overnight literally - then 25% disappeared the next day… Dazzled by the root growth, but wondering why so much “dissolved” as fast as they grew. Only in 3.5 gallon bucket - might be the issue, or my bubbler was malfunctioning and it was oxy starved. Either way, I did a Res change and added a bit of Pirhana for the roots. Definitely noticing the “Bud Ignitor” work especially in DWC. Looking forward to the buds developing. If overnight roots look any smaller I’m going to move into a 5 gallon bucket with more room for the roots to swim in.

I’m wondering if anyone with experience in DWC could help me figure out why I experienced explosive growth of roots, literally overnight - as seen in one of the pics; then half the roots literally disappeared the next day!! Wondering what could be affecting my root system so much

Hi, looks like your basket is submerged in water. When I did DWC I would keep a gap of air between the basket and the water leaving some roots exposed to air (4-6 in). Also is your water between 65F-69F? If water temp is higher than 69F (20C) you're more likely to experience root rot. I used Bacillus (Hydroguard, Monkey Juice or Root Builder all contain Bacillus in different concentrations) to help prevent root rot. Make sure you're adding enough air with your air stone, your water should be agitating like its boiling. Hope this helps! Happy growing!

I’m using enzymes, so the roots were dissolved with a few swimming in the bucket. Most eaten up I guess. I made some more room between the Nets Pot and the water, and added some Voodoo, Tarantula, and Pirrhana. Fingers crossed.
