hampfi Here we go again, I'm slowly getting addicted - not to the result, but to working with these wonderful plants. All 6 have sprouted, awesome, this time I already removed the paper from the pellets beforehand and I'm really hoping they won't stretch so much this time.

Only a certain amount of cannabinoids can be dissolved in oil. I would like to know this. And if I first make an extract with alcohol, how much can I then mix with oil? Unlimited?

CArrying capacity is not mapped out. This isn't something a person can do at home with great reliability. You'd need to test that sort of thing and figure out whena precipitate forms after slowing adding a measured, incremental amount. Anything that can go into solution is extracted. It is only partially selective relative to hydrophillic/hydrophobic molecules. Alcohol is know as a universal solvent. It can dissolve both hydrophobic and hydrophyllic substances. So, in theory, an oil extract will probably be better at extracting purer thc without the water soluble stuff also coming along with it. extract with oil, skip the step. Carrying capacity will be different for alcohol and any particular oil. No idea how much. Or, extract with alcohol, but no reason to do both in succession that i know of.

I don't know the exact amount. In my experience, a simple oil extraction is enough to achieve a good effect when using 1g of buds or 2g of trim per 10ml of oil. Then, 1ml of oil is enough for a nice trip. However, the taste is mainly unpleasant due to the chlorophyll. That's why I only do extractions with 95% ethanol now. For this, you put ground buds or finely chopped trim in a jar after decarboxylating and leave it in the freezer overnight, just like the ethanol. The next day, fill the jar just above the height of the contents with the ice-cold ethanol and shake well for about 1 minute. Then back into the freezer, repeat twice with at least five minutes of pause each time, and let it rest in the freezer for another five minutes at the end. Then, let the liquid run through a good coffee filter into another jar. From this jar, you just need to evaporate the alcohol. I use the Pot from Noids for this and for decarbing; it makes life very easy and is worth it; it catches a large part of the ethanol so you can reuse it. For my first attempts, I used a Thermomix, set it to 70 degrees, and left the lid open, which worked too. However, you have to be extremely careful due to the fire hazard. In the last step, I fill the extract with MCT oil from Koro; here I again take 1g of buds or 2g of trim, so for example, 50ml of oil if I extracted 5g of buds. This all goes into dropper bottles; I only need 0.5 - 0.7ml. The effect is stronger than with the direct oil infusion; the extraction is therefore better. The effect is also significantly stronger than if you vaped the mathematically equivalent amount (0.07g). You can find my template for the "recipe" as Golden Dragon Tincture here: https://www.royalqueenseeds.de/blog-alles-was-du-ueber-die-herstellung-von-cannabistinktur-wissen-solltest-n320. Of course, you can also use more oil, then the final product will be weaker. What doesn't work well is mixing the alcohol without evaporating it with oil first. I advise against that. Here is a precise summary from Grok 2.0 that I requested: https://x.com/i/grok/share/HMLgldenMRUBiiwieXhXYbapW I've been doing this as a "hobby" for some time now. If you have questions or can contribute your own experiences, feel free to reach out.

hampfi On day 5, everything had hatched. One still has its little cap on, but I think it can manage without surgery on its own. On day 7, they moved into 8l pots in the box. So far, a good start!!! I had to help a bit, but with a damp cotton swab, I was able to remove the seed shell.

hampfi And once again, they've all fallen over - what am I doing wrong? I'm propping them up with sticks and I'm sure they'll make it, but it's really bothering me. Otherwise, they all look good, getting their third set of leaves and the second one has 3 fingers.

hampfi Nice bushy plants. I almost let them dry out, then repotted them into watered soil and watered them again later. Used Power Roots and Alga Grow. Let's see if they can handle it; repotting is always stressful. They seem to have handled the repotting well, but some shoots look oddly deformed. Maybe someone has an idea about that?
