Seedling phase is almost over! 2 weeks after breaking the soil the first leaves are coming in. Temps have ranged in the day between 18 and 21°C whilst at night varying between 13 and 15°C so I'd imagine growth is slowed from this.
Humidity stays around 50-60% and watering the soil when dry. If anyone has any tips for watering in early life that would be greatly appreciated! When should you start watering until runoff?
I hadnt realised I've had my lights on 24hrs a day from seed... Should I switch to 18/6? If so should I easw into it or give the plant a 6 hour night immediately?
Strong week as she starts to grow taller again! Slowed down toward the end of the week due to underwatering as I went off schedule😅 I'm still learning and adjusting having not grown for a long year
After the Ca defficiency this week I started some rqs boost tablets that have Ca in them. I think the soil I used just lacked Ca as the issue isnt spreading at all after starting the tablets
The LST I have been doing works amazingly. Super strong stem now with side branching happening
I have also FIMmed her to hopefully get an even bushier plant. Once she recovers I will be transplanting in preparation for flower
This week has been a stressful one! Midweek we saw early signs of her being rootbound as she began to wilt, I suspect this was also due to a couple of cold nights as she perked up a little before transplant. Then at transplant you can see her roots starting to brown off. Not in too bad a state though and she was transplanted into 4gal of soil with mychorizae, worm castings and perlite in a fabric pot this time so hopefully no more being rootbound!
I want to try a trellis net with this run but am wondering how long it will take until she becomes tall enough for it to be of use... its already been 5 weeks and she's still sort of small, I was hoping to start flower in 2 weeks time so we'll see
Final week of veg, growth has been picking back up after transplant and we can also see that my attempt at FIMMING... missed, so all I achieved was a stunted plant.
No matter though, we are back on pace and looking forward to the stretch for flower over the next few weeks
Good luck with this special strain. I grew her last year outside. She took a little time in the beginning, but then developped beautifully, before being eaten by mildew and bud rot in the last weeks of the flowering phase. In the beginning (first two weeks at least), do no water her too much. Just a little water every few days, no run-off. If the earth is too wet, the roots rot and you will have very slow growth.
Thanks! I'm very excited to see what she has in store for me!
I've had troubles with overwatering in the past so I am absolutely cautious. Currently still watering with a spray bottle on the top soil. My way of thinking currently is if she takes more than 2 days to dry back she had too much water and I can lower the intake.
