Soaked seeds in 1% h2o2 for 24hrs. Sowed 1in deep in Stonington blend soil in 3.5in pots. Also added mycorrhizae. Watering to maintain optimum moisture. Noted weight of soil and water for ideal conditions of soil saturation. Keeping under humidity dome. I'd say temps are low 60's with lights on 24hrs.
17/17 germination for the old lot
14/17 germination for the new lot
3 of the new lot seeds did not crack. So I dug them out of the soil and cracked the tip between my two fingernails. I re planted those 3 seeds and watered heavily. If they come up that's great. If not. Oh well.
Results are surprising. I would have assumed that the old lot seeds would have experienced a hardening of the seed coating.
Update day 3 everything is going well. Took off all the stuck seed coatings. Turned up the power a little on the. No leggy seedlings!! Added a humidifier set to 70%. Added a heater with a controller set to 70F. Added a fan to strengthen the plants. Fun times ahead
