So this is my 2nd grow and 1st grow in a hydro setup. Decided on a hempy bucket as my temps here are too hot for a DWC system.
I'm using a mix of coco and perlite in a 10ltr bucket.
My lady is a White Widow fast from a local breeder Yantra, but she was cloned for me by a friend. Think I should've waited until I had more roots showing out the cube but we'll see how it goes.
Had a quarter strength mix of Prof's A &B and a couple watering at ph6 in between.
Hopefully I can pull this off
2nd week in their buckets and things seem to be moving along slowly atm. I have the rest of the nutes on the way so will start them in week3. My tent is being used to flower the mum so they spend the days outside and then I bring them under the light at night. Temporary solution for another cpl weeks.
Things have moved on nicely I think. Still moving inside at night and out again in the morning but going well considering. Has been topped which really pushed out side growth. Got 3 feeds this week of between 850ppm and 1050ppm and a watering with just a bit of Grow Roots added to take my water up to 150ppm. I must've had a bit of spill on one of the leaves I think, as it looks like some nute burn, but only on that leave. Saw a few gnats flying around so they got a neem spray too midweek.
Still getting my head around these hempy buckets and growing in coco too. Growth is a bit slower than I expected. Had my top branch snapped by a falling greenhouse, so it was topped this week and made the move indoors too. A bit of light lst to get some light in. Happy growing everyone
So had some good growth this week, thinking i need to up the nute strength a touch and squeeze another watering in. First time in coco and with these cfl's it doesnt dry out very quickly but the res is drying quicker than the medium.
Had a leave burn from what looks like contact with nutrient solution and something that looks like the leaves are being eaten if anyone has any ideas? Did cut off the affected leaves and think I'll do a leave strip sometime this week.
Thanks for checking this out👍
Well I increased the nutes strength to 1350ppm at the beginning of the week but I noticed some spots on some leaves so dropped it 1050 for the feed tonight and had a plain watering in between.
I picked off spotted leaves and bent the last branch into place. Think I'll leave it growing this week and flip towards the end of the week. It spread nicely so might try a scrog and see.
LAST WEEK OF VEG!! Think I'm happy with where she is. Had a last veg feed around day44 and then a flush before her first flower feed tonight, day 49. Drilled some holes around the pot's lip and used wire to bend the branchs down and open up the bud sites. Outdoor flowering for this girl, so moved her to her new spot after her feed today at 1000ppm of flowering formula.
🤞🤞
So first week of flower or pre flower maybe?? But whatever it is they are now outside and getting direct sunlight from about 10am to 4pm and loving it. They started off this week looking a little yellow on the new growth but by Wednesday all the leaves are nice and green. Got the day off tomorrow so think I'll do a light defol and have another look at the lst wires.
The mother of this clone is about a week away from harvest (my first ever harvest!!) And she smells great, everytime I walk outside. Looking forward to a comparison, my first soil harvest and my first hempy 1 after another.
So I just got 2 feeds in this week, had some rain which kept the coco moist for longer so now we wait.
Thanks for stopping in 👍
Week 2 done. She bounced back nicely after the defol at the end of last week and cruising along.
She is getting thirsty and I think I need to add an extra watering day. She got 2 feeds and a water this week so we'll see next week.
Showed flowers all over around day 13 and im quite pleased with myself haha
just a reminder that this plant is outside now too. Thanks again
Well I was a bit busy this week so they didn't get as much attention as usual.
I gave her plain water on Monday and realised that the run off was coming out about 950ppm so she got 2 more "flushes" the next couple days until runoff was about 300ppm and then a feed at 850ppm and next one at 950ppm.
I have 2 holes in the bucket, 1 at overflow level and another as a drain, right at the lowest level. First go at these buckets and hydro in fact, so I was paranoid and thought I might need a way to drain. It's very handy and glad I did it. I just drilled a 4mm hole and plug it with a small piece of air hose and end cap to seal it when I'm not using the drain.
I did another defol and cut out all the small weak branches that wouldn't make out.
All up, she always seems happy and praying to the Sun gods 🙏
Thanks again for stopping by. 👍
So this week just flew by for me. She's drinking more now with her res at the bottom of the bucket drying out every day. She got 3 feeds and 3 waters this week.
So week 5 of flower done. I didn't get to spend as much time as I needed with them this week and barely got 4 feeds in. They get a ltr or 2 of water in between or the res will be dry so they're drinking nicely.
She has stopped stretching so hopefully it's all stacking from now. Waiting on a loupe so I can tell when to harvest because I think I harvested her mum too early being my first plant.
Took some of the leaves off that were shading other budsites and adjusted some of the lst later in the week but she seems happy enough.
She is still outside even though we've had some rain, I'm sure I've managed to get her under cover most times.
The week went well. We haven't had the best weather with more rain so she has spent a fair bit of time under cover. More bright days would be good and apparently lower humidity too but the buds are forming quite well I think? Started getting a bit cooler at night too.
A bit late with this update. Unfortunately i didn't get too many pictures either.
My girl is still looking good but being a "fast flowerer" i was expecting some sort of fade by now, but the leaves are all still very green. Apparently she should finish 6 to 7 weeks. I tried to get a good look at the trichromes but don't have a proper loupe so I've started to flush this week (week 15). She got the normal feed feed water first 3 days but its been all water since?
Could really use a break in the weather this side, been very overcast this week and a few nice bright days would help finish off nicely.
We'll see how it goes.
Thanks for checking her out
Nothing new to add this week, just really looking forward to trying some of my first harvest... in a few weeks. She still hasn't faded much at all but checking the runoff ppm's and the first 3 waters were still coming out over 800ppm with 20 ppm going in but that's dropped now down to just over 150ppm but she isn't drinking as much anymore, maybe cos we haven't seen a full blue sky in awhile either.
I'm trying to get a clearer picture of the trichs but i think I'll finish the flush this coming week and harvest beginning of next? Because my loupe is so small i can't see the trichs clearly so I'm going in a bit blind. I'm hoping the 6 to 7 week flowering time is true.
Time will tell but it has been fun and even though I've grown attached to her, I can't wait to chop her down
Thanks for checking her out
Cheers Dank, saw your AK x WW dairy too those are gonna be my next grow, freebies from this purchase. Only 2nd grow, 1st being this one's mother, so still trying to get my head around it all. Cant complain and can only get better 👍
