BeanswithPork Day 11 from seed. I seeded in a peat pod, in its final pot with Myka microculture. The mixture is Sunshine Soil #4 with some worm castings, sheep manure compost mixed in. I don’t usually amend autoflowers but I had the mixture already made. I am hoping this plant can redeem the course of my other Early Miss.

BeanswithPork Day 19 from seed. Everything going normally and looking good. Debating when to start LST or even doing it at all. I’m curious as to what one main crown would be like...

BeanswithPork Day 26 from seed. This autoflower is growing a thick stalk. I think I’ve decided to not break apical dominance and just let one big bud bloom.... still up to for changing my mind. I fed some 18-18-21 Miracle Gro Tomato plant food... the top looks a little wilted because of this.

BeanswithPork Day 32 from seed. As stated I am going to try the natural one main cola method, no LST or defoliation. The drawbacks are already annoying as I had to move the plant to the side to allow other plants light, and there are side branches not in light at all. Oh well. It has been near excess with nutrients and is only just recovering, it had been looking a bit limp. I would say it has started to form bud sites, i.e. it is flowering.

BeanswithPork Day 39 from seed. This is my “natural” plant experiment: no training, topping, or defoliating. It already is a hassle in terms of space and light coverage. This plant is yellowing fast, it looks nitrogen deficient so I fed some 18-18–21 Miracle Gro plant food. I’m more than halfway so this is not ideal. I will cut off the Nitrogen from this point on regardless of result. Some green is returning, but it may have already effected my yield at this point.

BeanswithPork Day 47 from seed. This is my completely natural grow, no training or defoliation. I’ve just had it in the corner and struggled to give it room and light. It has had trouble absorbing nutrients and was yellow before I could do anything. Even this far into its life I gave it some 18-18-21 Miracle Gro Tomato food before this picture. It will take some time to absorb some green and repair itself. I won’t give it anymore nitrogen here on out. Its been tricky.

BeanswithPork Day 54 from seed. Only a couple weeks left and the buds are still whispy and light. This plant was a failure, the leaves yellowed and it never really recovered. I fed Wholesome Organic blackstrap molasses shortly after the last update, so its been water all week. Its just in the corner and not hurting anything.

BeanswithPork Day 61. I feel like I made a mistake and am off some days, I think it may be a bit less than that. I am going to let this plant cling on in my veg. room for two more weeks. I jammed in one more feeding with 0-10-10 Alaskan Morbloom, and now need some good flushes. The plant must almost be completely because the water intake is minimal.

BeanswithPork Day 66 I think. I have discrepancies with exact timelines but I’m at about 9 weeks from seed. I’ve had trouble since about week four or five so lets put this to rest. Crop King lists it as seven weeks so I’m adding about two weeks to get past the seedling stage. It hasn’t been able to absorb much liquid for quite some time, and I’ve been forced to flush anyway. I’m giving it some darkness and then hoping for the best taste wise. I expect little yield. The experiment of growing it naturally, i.e. no pruning or training, was a fail. It was inconvenient and a hassle to work with. Ahh well, it was a free promotional seed.

Week 10. Harvest

Happy Harvest Day!

Chicken or egg, was it the strain/genetics or the grower? In this case, it was most likely the grower’s fault. I didn’t manage this plant well and was content with some experimenting. So, no real issue with Crop King Seeds or the Early Miss strain. I was content keeping this plant on 24 hour lighting, no issue with my previous experiences. I wasn’t full invested so I did not increase the pot size, and was fine with a smaller pot. In hindsight, this probably had a factor on yield. I decided to try “natural,” as in no LST, defoliation, pruning, techniques of any kind. It produced one larger bud but was a hassle to manage in the grow room, and difficult to water and move around. Between weeks 4 and 5 it etarted to experience soil and/or pH and/or nutrient problems. The leaves quickly yellowed and it was stuck struggling for the rest of its life. This was the major storyline of the grow and effected the strength and yield. As it drank less and less and time was winding down I also miscalculated and fed more flowering food with just over two weeks to go, with an expectation to water/flush for two weeks. The plant sat in that last feeding and did not dry out, however I did majorly flush it before harvest. Back-to-back grows on this strain that were just allright, thus the ratings.

BeanswithPork What a pitiful yield. This plant just chilled in the corner and I barely put any effort in once it went south, this was also a “natural” grow experiment - I will never do that again. Overall, just a bad run. You have to post the bad ones and the good ones, I’m pretty transparent.

I'm starting to think its genetics a bit myself. My first batch I germinated came out nice strong plants, the second round seem to be all wimpy looking things. Dont beat yourself up over it I'm going through the same thing with this strain.
