deFharo Welcome, enthusiasts of homemade, clandestine, and organic marijuana, the new spring/summer 2025 growing season starts now! 🖐️ 👨‍🌾 This grow started as a germination experiment with a glass of water and old regular seeds from a supposed Brazilian sativa that a grower friend sent me. I specifically asked for the oldest seeds from his stash for this experiment, and he assured me a year ago that they were very old. I prepared four solutions with mountain spring water and placed two seeds in each glass: 1st Just spring water at 53°C that I let cool slowly and finally kept at 25°C. 2nd Spring water with a bit of hydrogen peroxide and a lower temperature than the previous one. 3rd Spring water with natural heather honey. Theoretically, I thought the sugars, enzymes, minerals, and antibacterial properties of honey would help germinate these old seeds. 4th Freaky mix: Spring water with Ormus, Bio Coco EM, and GA3. 15 hours later, no seed had germinated, and several were at the bottom of the glass. I placed all the seeds between damp cotton with the mixtures from each glass. 12 hours later, the first seed germinated (Glass 1), and after 36H, the second germinated (Glass 2), no other seeds managed to do so. I immediately placed each germinated seed in a light substrate with a bit of humus, watering it with mountain spring water, and for now, I keep the humidity very high by enclosing it in a dome. During the night, I keep the seedlings in the main tent away from the intense lights, during the day in the filtered light of a window, and if it’s very cloudy, I put them in my homemade cabinet with 450nm and 6500K lights. Now the goal is to determine the sex as soon as possible to get rid of the males. I will probably grow them at 12/12H from the moment of transplanting to the final pot, and depending on the size at the time of sex declaration, I will choose to continue at 12/12H or revert to the vegetative state with more light hours. This grow presents several challenges for me: first, growing regular seeds, second, taming a native sativa so that its size doesn’t overwhelm me. Additionally, this grow is a tribute to anonymous marijuana seeds, without pompous names or imposed crosses. For me, it’s about reclaiming the grows I did in the 80s with seeds given or found in bags of marijuana without knowing the origin, in the end, waiting for the surprise of seeing these nameless seeds grow. UNTIL NEXT TIME... CHEERS AND HEALTH TO EVERYONE! 😁

deFharo Welcome, enthusiasts of homemade, clandestine, and organic marijuana! 🖐️ 👨‍🌾 The two seedlings are progressing, but there is a big difference between them, both above ground and below the substrate. The cause is the composition of the substrate; one has a new, light substrate, while the other has reused substrate from two seasons ago, which is denser and heavier. Clearly, the seedling with the new substrate is advancing more than the other, and if we look at the root expansion, then the difference between the two is overwhelming, as there are hardly any roots visible in the reused substrate... I used the reused substrate out of laziness, and I will never do it again. 😳 UNTIL NEXT TIME... REGARDS AND CHEERS TO EVERYONE! 😁

deFharo Welcome, homegrown, underground, and organic marijuana enthusiasts! 🖐️ 👨‍🌾 The differences between the two seedlings are becoming more pronounced; the roots of the seedling in new soil show a brutal outlook, while the other seedling in reused substrate is still constrained by a very dense and depleted medium. Today, I'm going to transplant the healthiest seedling into a final pot; I'm going all in on that plant and hoping it's female, and if it turns out to be a male, I'll execute it at dawn! 😈 As for the second seedling, in a few days, I'll transplant it into an intermediate pot to see if it recovers with new substrate! So far, all the new seedlings this season are bouncing from one place to another all day long, at night in the main tent (12H), in the morning by a SE-facing window, and in the afternoon/evening I move them to my homemade grow cabinet where I have blue lights (450nm) and very white lights (7700K) to promote compactness... all the seedlings are happy. 😁 UNTIL NEXT TIME... CHEERS AND HEALTH TO EVERYONE! 😁

deFharo Welcome, enthusiasts of homemade, clandestine, and organic marijuana! 🖐️ 👨‍🌾 This grow is about reviving some very old regular seeds from a native Brazilian sativa. I managed to germinate two seeds out of the eight I had; I put one in a new, light substrate and the other in a reused substrate from the previous season. The difference in growth has been and is brutal—no more recycled substrates in my pots! A week ago, I transplanted both seedlings, the healthier one into an old-school 7L pot with side aeration and terracotta color 😁. I'm betting everything that this seedling will be a beautiful female. The other one I think I put in a 1L pot 😊. As soon as this seedling shows a bit of color, I'm going to switch it to a 12/12H schedule to declare its sex as soon as possible. If it's a female, I'll switch it back to the vegetative growth schedule, and if it's a male, I'll execute it at dawn because this is not a garden for males! 😈 So far, I have the plants under 24 hours of light, with close blue and white lights to compact them as much as possible. I'll probably make the first apical cuts in the coming days... UNTIL NEXT TIME... REGARDS AND HEALTH TO ALL! 😁

deFharo Welcome, enthusiasts of homemade, clandestine, and organic marijuana! 🖐️ 👨‍🌾 This grow is about recovering a Brazilian native sativa from some very old regular seeds. Two weeks since transplanting, and the plant is growing vigorous, compact, and beautiful. The second plant I have in a 1-liter pot, which was struggling due to using recycled substrate, is now loosening up and trying to make up for lost time. For now, I’m watering only with spring water, a bit of molasses, and mountain microorganisms. Two days ago, I made the apical cut to branch out and control the height. In these early days of spring, when winter is still felt, I’ve filled all my new pots with the mulch I collect each season. I waited a week after transplanting to do this and let the substrate settle. For the past five years, I’ve been recovering the top 3-4 centimeters of substrate from harvested pots. This material is made up of organic matter in various stages of decomposition, much of which has turned into humus. Additionally, this mulch contains the highest concentration of microbiology, due to the presence of oxygen, the constant inoculation of microorganisms, and the organic matter I constantly add, creating an ideal ecosystem for microbial life. Over the years, this living layer has broken down all the leaves from my crops, including roots and small branches. I’ve also added wood chips, fresh grass, dry straw, old cigar butts, dry amendments, etc. It’s a true factory for decomposing organic matter and minerals, which then turns into humus. Five years ago, I explored several forests in the area looking for mountain microorganisms. I created a nursery for this microbiology. This product is a fundamental element of my biofertilizers. I like to believe that the successive generations of applied and recovered microbiology from my substrates adapt perfectly to my garden, its climate, its feeding, its lighting, and its care. The truth is that I’ve been pest-free for a long time, and my plants are growing robust and healthy… as long as I haven’t done any bizarre experiments with them. UNTIL NEXT TIME... CHEERS AND HEALTH TO ALL! 😁

deFharo Welcome homegrown, underground, and organic marijuana enthusiasts! 🖐️ 👨‍🌾 This grow is about recovering a native Brazilian sativa from some very old regular seeds. I've topped both plants at the central apex to control vertical stretching while also encouraging branching. This week, I transplanted the second plant that I was keeping in a 1-liter pot into an old-school white pot. Now the two sativas are competing in beauty and growth. It's likely that at least one male plant will emerge; if so, I'm going to pollinate the other plant to try to continue this Brazilian lineage. I also want to preserve the pollen I collect for future crosses... let’s play! UNTIL NEXT TIME... CHEERS AND HEALTH TO ALL! 😁

deFharo Welcome, enthusiasts of homemade, clandestine, and organic marijuana! 🖐️ 👨‍🌾 This grow is about recovering a native Brazilian sativa from some very old regular seeds. Nine weeks of cultivation. Two weeks since the switch to 12/12H schedule. - An alpha male is infiltrating the garden… now there are two of us! 😂 It happened! 😬 One of the two regular seeds I'm growing this season is a huge, lustful male, eager to mate with all my females, but no! I've isolated him, banished him from the main tent, and now he lives with his sister, waiting for my decision. So far, all the plants I've grown indoors have been feminized seeds because I don't have much space, and I've always been interested in growing techniques and getting abundant weed to smoke, without worrying about sex. A couple of years ago, a supposedly feminized seed turned out to be male after 10 weeks of cultivation… I executed it at dawn: https://growdiaries.com/diaries/168816-grow-journal-by-defharo It turns out that this year I have an indecent amount of dry weed, a green pantry worthy of a very cold apocalypse, and I started to think... what if I breed this male? What if I let him be? He's a beautiful plant, from seeds that came speaking Portuguese from distant jungles, and now he gets along wonderfully with my geraniums, my ficus, and that arrogant mint that thinks it's the queen of my balcony. What if this cross produces something worthy of a name? A new strain? Maybe this male has something to say. Maybe his sister, also tropical and mysterious, is waiting to cross with him to give me a strain that doesn't exist yet. A new line. A legacy. And since I don't need quantity this season, I can afford the luxury of playing god with scissors, pollen, and patience. So for now, I watch him, looking at that male with the respect reserved only for enemies with potential. I look at him and his sister. Let's see what happens. Maybe their destinies will cross. Maybe I'll be handed down to genetic history. Or maybe, as always, it all ends up in smoke. But what smoke, damn it!

Ten weeks of cultivation. Three weeks since switching to a 12/12H schedule. I have what I expected, a female and a big male to cross and continue the lineage... maybe! I’m growing the female in my homemade closet, a couple of days ago I tied down several branches to shape the plant and promote branching... let’s play! - The fallen stud. Adam without Eve I, humble servant of the light and underground marijuana, declare the exile of the male cannabis plant. 😈 Not out of hatred, but out of devotion to the green virgins that bloom under my patient gaze, defended with an iron hand. Their mere flowering is a nuclear threat to their virtue. 💚 The sentence was swift. Expelled. Banish. Not even allowed a farewell; just the cold rejection of one who guards the chastity of their green lineage. 🤣 He arrived uninvited, sprouted like the others, from the same soil, surrounded by artificial light and promises of glory... with the same hope. 🌱 But puberty hit him like a storm: he expanded his sacs like a couple of botanical balls, eager to spread sin over the innocent vegetation, driven by an indecent urgency to release his lineage to the wind with depraved intentions. I cannot allow it! Not in my sacred grow closets. Not among the females that only await flowers, not seeds. 😡 They, so sweet, so pure, covered in trichomes like holy frost, must never know the touch of his wicked pollen. ✋ And so I cast him out. Without tears. Without applause. I took him to the farthest corner of the garden, where the sun still touches him, but no one looks at him, where he will mature alone, a penitent green, in silence, with his bottled desire, without a single stigma to receive his malignant pollen. This is my garden. There is no room for two men here. Here, celibacy reigns. Here, the buds bloom without seeds. 🌼🌼🌼 UNTIL NEXT TIME... CHEERS AND HEALTH TO ALL! 😁

deFharo Welcome, enthusiasts of homemade, clandestine, and organic marijuana! 🖐️ 👨‍🌾 This grow is about recovering a native Brazilian sativa from some very old regular seeds. Eleven weeks of cultivation. Four weeks since switching to a 12/12H schedule. The female plant is progressing, showing off its beautiful floral buds, water consumption is very high, I'm growing it in my homemade cabinet with full spectrum Chinese lights 😁, at night it sleeps alone, but during the day I bring in an unexpected autoflowering to keep it company. The male is growing exiled on the balcony, the excess hours of light have made it stretch, it's one meter tall, but the tips look majestic, I'm waiting for it to mature a bit more to collect its pollen, I want to save it to pollinate some branches of the female plant. deFharo Welcome, enthusiasts of homemade, clandestine, and organic marijuana! 🖐️ 👨‍🌾 A woman in the closet and a man on the balcony singing to win her over! 😁 A romance among Chinese lights, ancient flowers, and a man in exile. Twelve weeks of cultivation, and every day I’m more convinced that this plant doesn’t just grow... it remembers. I’m trying to revive an old Brazilian sativa with a handful of regular seeds that already smelled of history. And against all odds, with the help of some full-spectrum Chinese lights that sometimes seem more like party decorations than agricultural tools, it keeps going. Beautiful, tall, and thirsty like summer. We’ve been under a 12/12 light cycle for five weeks, and the female plant is fully committed. The buds are subtle but firm, with that serene dignity that only those who have traveled far seem to possess. It drinks as if erasing ancestral memories. Its flowering is slow but intense, as if each pistil were a verse of an ancient song that only the roots understand. At night, it sleeps alone, wrapped in darkness and silence. But during the day, I bring it an unexpected companion: a rebellious autoflowering plant that arrived uninvited but earned its place. I don’t know if they keep each other company or silently ignore one another, like in the language of plants, but something happens between them. The air perceives it. ==================================================================== THE MALE! Today I profaned the exile. Not with rage or hatred, but with eager hands and black cardboard as an altar. The male, the dusty stallion, offered me his essence without shame. I shook his being like a sacred tree is shaken. I struck, mercilessly, his branches laden with sin. The male, battered and shaken to the core, released his yellow cloud with a silent groan: a dry, dirty storm of botanical lust. The air turned sirocco. The balcony, a stage of forced fertility. A golden and lascivious storm enveloped my makeshift altar. Black cardboard stained with indecent dust. There’s no turning back: I’ve collected his plant semen with lustful devotion. I’ve stored it in a glass jar, alongside desiccant packets, like a blasphemous relic, waiting for the moment to cross it with a woman worthy of its damned potency. This pollen will be my future key, my reproductive spell. And yet, I don’t know who it will cross with. I haven’t chosen it. No one knows. Everyone fears. The females look at me, oblivious to their possible genetic fate. After the plunder, the male remained hunched, with branches hanging like arms after a beating. I left him there, battered, with his dignity reduced to dust, waiting for a slow death in the sunniest corner of oblivion. Later, like one who prunes a martyr, I cut his upper branches. They now rest on the same cardboard that witnessed his massive ejaculation. They dry in silence, awaiting their final contribution to the cause. And when all the pollen has been extracted, when his function has been fulfilled, when his lineage is in the freezer’s hands... I will execute him at dawn. Without glory. Without ceremony. Without words. Just botanical justice. Because even though I took everything, even his soul, here, seedless blooms. Here, pleasure is tactical. Here, man dies... but his legacy will endure in the smoke. UNTIL NEXT TIME... CHEERS AND HEALTH TO ALL! 😁

deFharo Welcome, enthusiasts of homemade, clandestine, and organic marijuana! 🖐️ 👨‍🌾 The Brazilian sativa is progressing, plus the male has pollinated some branches, and you can already see the seeds forming. The survival of this strain of native and ancient marijuana is guaranteed. I've stored the pollen in the freezer to maybe make new crosses; for now, I also pollinated some branches of the largest plant in the garden: Tangie. The seeds are growing on those branches. The buds are slowly forming, but they promise to be very long and monstrous. UNTIL NEXT TIME... REGARDS AND HEALTH TO EVERYONE! 😁

deFharo Welcome, enthusiasts of homemade, clandestine, and organic marijuana! 🖐️ 👨‍🌾 Sixth week of flowering, the buds are progressing, some loaded with seeds, others not, but in any case, beautiful sativa buds that still need to fully express themselves. This strain surely needs many weeks of flowering and that makes me tremble, as the progress is very stable and the buds are as hard as rocks, something that surprises me in a native sativa. I water it with my best mixes of Bio Nutrients and it asks for more and more every two days... UNTIL NEXT TIME... CHEERS AND HEALTH TO EVERYONE! 😁

deFharo Welcome homegrown, underground, and organic marijuana enthusiasts! 🖐️ 👨‍🌾 Eighth week of flowering for this ancient Brazilian sativa. The watering consumption is the highest in the entire garden; I water it deeply every 2 days with various Bio nutrient mixes. To help it sleep, I'm using a Far Red bulb (730nm) that I turn on 15 minutes before the lights go out and keep it on for 20 minutes after the lights are off. I also turn it on 15 minutes before the lights come on, until 10 minutes after. I've never noticed anything special using this technique, but since I have the bulb, I use it to see if one day it shows me what it can do for the plants' rest. The plant is thriving; some branches contain seeds, so the lineage is secured. Its daytime companion is about to be harvested, so after that, I’ll move this plant to the main tent and disconnect my homemade cabinet, saving some good watts. Plus, it will be a heartwarming reunion, as the plants that will accompany it in the main grow tent are known from its youth! 😁 Let’s play! UNTIL NEXT TIME... CHEERS AND HEALTH TO EVERYONE! 😁

deFharo Welcome, enthusiasts of homemade, clandestine, and organic marijuana! 🖐️ 👨‍🌾 Ninth week of flowering for this ancient Brazilian sativa. Tomorrow I'm moving it to the main grow tent because I've got a space available and I'm unplugging the homemade grow cabinet, and if it’s not too hot, I’ll add some extra light to finish up the grows. In these days of extreme heat and humidity, the grow tent is on fire! Yellow alert! 😂 But this rebellious garden has seen worse days... let’s play! 😁 I keep the plants very well hydrated, watering before the substrate moisture runs out; the plants definitely appreciate it, especially when I mix the watering solutions at a temperature between 18-20°C, fresh and well-oxygenated water for my Queens, and also during these hellish days, the nutrient concentration in the watering mixes is low so the plants don’t get stressed beyond what’s necessary... I’ll always be by your side! 👨‍🌾 UNTIL NEXT TIME... CHEERS AND HEALTH TO ALL! 😁

deFharo Welcome, enthusiasts of homemade, clandestine, and organic marijuana! 🖐️ 👨‍🌾 Tenth week of flowering for this ancient Brazilian sativa. It’s been a week since this plant left the home grow closet with full spectrum lights, now it lives in the main tent alongside six other plants and plenty of red, yellow, and orange light. The plant is full of seeds, the buds are progressing slowly, I don’t know if I should wait for more buds or more seeds, I’m going to continue with the grow to see what happens. But I definitely prefer seedless plants. UNTIL NEXT TIME... CHEERS AND HEALTH TO EVERYONE! 😁

deFharo Welcome homegrown, underground, and organic marijuana enthusiasts! 🖐️ 👨‍🌾 Eleventh week of flowering for this ancient Brazilian sativa. The plant continues with a great metabolism, the buds where the seeds are already mature are drying up, I don't know whether to continue, because I don't know if the new flowering buds will keep producing seeds, or if they'll give me something more to smoke after all. UNTIL NEXT TIME... CHEERS AND HEALTH TO ALL! 😁

deFharo Welcome homegrown, underground, and organic marijuana enthusiasts! 🖐️ 👨‍🌾 Twelfth week of flowering for this ancient Brazilian sativa. The plant is loaded with seeds, but the buds keep growing and show great density. Currently, this plant has the highest water consumption. I’m going to wait one more week... let’s play! UNTIL NEXT TIME... CHEERS AND HEALTH TO ALL! 😁

deFharo Welcome, enthusiasts of homemade, clandestine, and organic marijuana! 🖐️ 👨‍🌾 Thirteen weeks of flowering for this ancient Brazilian sativa. I keep the plant until the end of the others, I’ve cut some mature buds, the male of this variety pollinated several plants, although I still hope that in the main tent the seeds I’m finding are from some hermaphrodite plant, I’ll see when I cut them all. UNTIL NEXT TIME... REGARDS AND HEALTH TO ALL! 😁

Week 21. Harvest

Happy Harvest Day!

deFharo Welcome homegrown, underground, and organic marijuana enthusiasts! 🖐️ 👨‍🌾 Fourteen weeks of flowering for this ancient Brazilian sativa. Early this morning, after spending its last night in the grow tent and once the substrate moisture was depleted, I harvested this plant. The plant, fully pollinated by the male, is filled with seeds and has little bud to smoke; anyway, it brought back old times, and I won’t grow a male again. I grow marijuana to smoke, not to breed. Nevertheless, it has been an interesting grow; this plant has been the thirstiest in the garden, and in the last 2 weeks, it started forming new flower buds. Now it’s drying inside the grow tent... UNTIL NEXT TIME... CHEERS AND HEALTH TO ALL! 😁
