Hobbygrower97 The start of a new grow. This time I decided to go with a photoperiodic genetic variety to gain experience with these as well. Additionally, it's a CBD variety with low THC levels, as I'm very interested in the effects of this. In this grow, I mainly want to try topping. Depending on my mood, I might apply some LST. I soaked the seeds in tap water for about 18 hours and then placed them in a zip bag between damp paper towels. Within just one day, the two germinated and developed about a 1cm long taproot. I put them in a mini greenhouse for further cultivation the next day. For this, I used the soil from the previous grow and mixed in some mycorrhiza. They are being sprayed with tap water mixed with a bit of root juice. The result after 2 days can be seen in the picture. Unfortunately, it seems that the two might stretch a bit. I will keep them in the mini greenhouse for as long as possible so that as many roots can develop before the first transplant is due. However, this will likely be needed soon. I'm excited.

Hobbygrower97 The two will be planted in 3 L pots shortly after the last post. Since they were a bit difficult to get out of the previous containers, I was concerned that they might take a little longer to recover. However, they seem to be feeling quite at home in their new place and are starting to diligently push out their first pair of leaves. I will likely keep them in these pots for about 3 weeks until they are well-rooted.

Hobbygrower97 By the end of week 3, growth is continuing smoothly. It's clear that Pheno #1 is growing quite a bit faster than Pheno #2. Over the coming week, I will top both of them. I also gave a little bit of Bio Grow fertilizer this week along with Calmag. Other than that, I only provided tap water without pH regulation.

Hobbygrower97 At the beginning of week 4, both were topped. I'm giving them about 1.5 weeks to recover before they move into the 11 L final pots. I expect to initiate flowering after another two weeks. I'm considering putting up a scrog net, but I still need to think about that. By the end of the week, the ladies have recovered quite well and are developing two new main stems. I also gave them some water with a bit of Bio Grow and Calmag. Now I'm waiting until the soil is relatively dry, and then I'll transplant into the 11 L final pots.

Hobbygrower97 Not much happened this week either. The ladies were planted in their new home, as they developed a very strong root system in the smaller pots. The substrate consists of about 60% soil and 40% worm humus. So far, I can't see any problems regarding the nutrients. Since I've decided to go with the SCROG net, I'm going to let them stay in the vegetative phase for another week or so, hoping they'll gain a bit more size.

Hobbygrower97 After a relaxed recovery from topping, the two ladies were roughly defoliated for the first time today. I also set up the SCROG net and brought the shoots into the net. In about 4 days, the flowering will begin. I'm curious if and how much the two will stretch. Edit: Since the SCROG net combined with the defoliation at the beginning of the week has produced a very satisfying result, I will stay in the veg phase for another week and then initiate the flowering phase.

Hobbygrower97 The past week went smoothly again. I have trained the shoots into the net as much as possible and did another defoliation at the end of the week. I watered once with nutrients and once without. Both times I aimed for a pH range of about 6.5. I will now initiate the flowering phase and switch the lighting to 12/12.

Hobbygrower97 This week, the first pistils have formed. At the end of the week, I defoliated again and also removed some hidden side shoots lower down. I fertilized once with Biobizz according to the schedule. I hope that the approach wasn't too stressful for the two of them.

Hobbygrower97 The two are stretching nicely. The flowering is also in full swing. This week, I fertilized once with BioBizz according to the schedule. At the end of the second flowering week or at the beginning of the third flowering week, I did some serious defoliation and removed covered shoots. Depending on the leaf mass, I’m leaving the ladies alone for now.

Hobbygrower97 Unfortunately, I haven't documented much in the last two weeks. They have developed very well and are slowly forming the flowers. A scent of lemon is increasingly taking over the tent. The leaf mass is a bit too much for my taste, but I will leave the two untouched until harvest, as long as it doesn't get much more.

Hobbygrower97 Of course, after the last post, I couldn't keep my fingers still and went straight back to using the scissors, which has proven to be a good idea during the 5th week of flowering, as the leaf mass has increased again. The buds aren't producing too many trichomes and are lacking a bit in mass. In Pheno #2, the first pistils are already changing color. Overall, I like Pheno #2 better since switching to flowering, as the buds are growing denser here. Unfortunately, my microscope is no longer functional, and I need to get something else so I can better observe the trichomes in the coming weeks. However, from what I can see with the naked eye, I would suspect that Pheno #2 will be ready a good bit earlier. I'm excited to see how it goes.

Hobbygrower97 The grow is slowly coming to an end. The trichomes are maturing almost identically on both phenos and are already turning amber in some spots. Yesterday was the last watering, and the two will be harvested over the next week. It's clearly visible that Pheno #2 produces larger buds. Overall, the growth has been very uniform. The Green Poison genetics live up to their name, and I didn't think that the two would actually be ready just about 7 weeks after the start of the flowering phase.

Beide Green Poison CBD haben den Run super gemeistert. Sie haben sehr gut auf das Topping reagiert. Leider war durch die buschige Wuchsart der beiden das Scrog-Netz etwas unnötig und sogar etwas hinderlich was die übersicht beim entlauben betrifft. Jetzt habe ich mehr Popcorn Buds als erhofft. Die Trocknung erfolgt mit leichter Um- und Abluft im Zelt bei ziemlich konstanten 21°C und 53 % RLF. Es scheint dieses Mal bei der Trocknung etwas länger zu dauern, da sich die Stängel noch easy ohne knacken biegen lassen. Update der zweiten Trocknungswoche folgt.
