KUNST This is my first grow diary and also first time growing! I’m here to learn and share my progress on this journey! Starting out, after putting all the equipment together, I mixed my substrate (4:6 - Soil/Compost) and began testing the water pH/TDS from the faucet. Faucet pH: ~7.7 Faucet TDS : ~450ppm I created a slurry with the substrate which came in at 6.5 pH/580 PPM. Treated some water that was then put in spray bottle and used to moisten the substrate. Plant the seed directly in the substrate and applied 24/7 lighting at a distance of ~45cm from the top of the pot (8cm plastic easy release) The light is cheap so I will be going by the manufactures somewhat fantastical estimates and aiming to be between 30cm to 60cm range depending on stage (veg/flower). I’m aware that this setup may seem a little DIY, I will certainly be upgrading parts of my current setup, any suggestions on this as well as general growing tips and feedback are much appreciated in the comments. UPDATE - 14/02/2025 - SEE VEG WEEK 1 - Re-potted due to imperfect soil conditions (compressed potentially post-waterlogged soil/high pH) Seedling has its first true leaves, hoping that a looser, moist soil composition will encourage better root growth. Observing root conditions, on re-potting, the plant showed a small cluster of roots. Water given around the seedling to encourage root growth, small amounts (~50-70ml) given as to not compress the soil too much.

KUNST I don't really know how to gauge when you can consider the plant to be in the vegetation stage so for arguments sake I will consider this point to be when I re-potted the seedling on the 14/02 (see germination entry update). 16/02/2025 - Added Bio-Bizz Grow to water (quarter strength 0.25ml/1l) - pH 6 / TDS 380. True leaves growing larger with second set developing nicely, nutrient mix added to begin veg nutrient course. Currently feeding ~100ml every 2-3 days, switching between nutrients water and clean water (pH treated of course). Not too many updates to add for this week, I think the pictures do a good job in showing the plants progress 🌱

KUNST So far... so good... The stalk has thickened a little more and plant seems to have adjust to the re-potting, substrate composition is lighter than expected, water seems to be absorbs easily. I have concern at this point that the plant will be getting to large for its current pot (8cm) so I plan to transfer it to a 20L plastic pot (not ideal, I would prefer fabric and may order some to do a final transplant in two weeks time. I just feel that a plastic pot is going to create potential problems as I am using a soil heavy substrate. I have almost figured out how to effective regulate temp/humidity in the tent, that in it's require significant trial error with light heights and outlet fan speeds. At a future date I may invest in some fancy automated equipment but for now I am very much enjoy an attentive approach! 22/02/2025 - I transplanted to the 20L plastic pot. Root observations: roots have formed strongly and defined at the bottoms of the pot (8cm), plant seems like it needs more room to grow from this point, transfer to a further fabric will occur in a week or two depending on growth. 24/02/2025 - 200ml of regular water given, water seems to be pooling on top then gradually soaking down into the soil. Watering applied in a crilce around the plant aiming to stimulate root growth post transplant. 25/02/2025 - Soil appears dry after yesterdays water so another 500ml added in a circle around the plant to promote wider root expansion.

KUNST Will be adding grow day number before each date in future posts, all in all this week has been a learning experience for sure! 24 - 01/03/2025 - 1L water given with full strength Bio Grow mix, plant appears to be healthy and growing at a steady rate, temps always kept between 25c (Day) and 17c (Night) with humidity between 50% to 70% 25 - 02/03/2025 - Plant seems to be experiencing some temperature stress at night/morning due to naturally cold external climate, heater used to balance heat fluctuations, plant responded positive. Trimmed cotyledon leaves and true leaves as were almost blocked from light. Plant does not seem to be exhibiting and stress signs, leaves pointing upwards (will monitor response to light levels over proceeding days). 27 - 04/03/2025 - Re potted plant into 30L fabric pot, almost certainly fucked up the deep root structure, expecting plant to undergo substantial shock. Given 100ml of balanced water closely to the stalk. 28 - 05/03/2025 - Plant growth minimal today, possibly due to shock, gave an additional 750ml of balanced water in a wide circle around the plant to promote lateral root growth, plant is starting to produce a familiar aroma. Until next time!

KUNST Apologies this week as I don't have any photos to upload it's been a busy week and a lot of contemplation on when to top and when to start LST, the plant was also topped this week. I believe it was topped at node 7/8 so perhaps a little late, however, I'll run with it, I have the equipment to do further train, the goal here is to create as many areas for light exposure to potential bud sites as the plant develops, eventually having a SCROG scenario from which defoliation can be done regularly up to flowering. 33 - 10/03/2025 - Plant topped, allowing a day or two for recovery, soil too dry, requires watering tomorrow, considering BioBizz full mix (Grow/Bloom/TopMax) watering as per BioBizz guidance sheet. 35 - 12/03/2025 - Plant seems to have recovered, from it's top surgery, growth increase noticed.Soil TDS measured as nutrient schedule to be resumed now the plant is transplanted/topped and in its forever home. TDS at 552 PPM, commencing nutrient feed as per BioBizz guidance (1ml per 1L of water for each) - Cal mag not necessarily needed as source water is hard water (high in calcium/magnesium) - 1L n-water for feed.

KUNST Learning more lessons every week, LST is the big one this week, best materials to use were by far the soft rubber garden wire spoils, super cheap and easy to use, you most certainly will have multiple uses for this stuff! I didn't want to over do it with the LST and judging by the top down view, the plant seems to be growing into free space nicely 🤞 36 - 13/03/2025 - Started LST on the lower branches with the intention of the lower more develop branches being trained to grow outward, other branches have had some LST to varying degrees to support an eventual even canopy. The garden wire used seem to have a high risk of accidentally slicing the plant. Some lighter defoliation of the bottom fan leaves. 37 - 14/03/2025 - Replaced garden wire with thick soft rubber support wire, much easier to work with and softer on the plant. Fed standard (G/B/TM) nutrients at 1ml/1L, gave 1L some leakage from side of fabric pot, wider bottom tray required! Considering defoliating additional upper fan leaves in order to give the lower colas access to more light. 41 - 18/03/2025 - Top Soil dry and plant requires a feed, TDS of top soil slurry came out at 770PPM, previous TDS before last feed was 450PPM (soil sample came from the edge of the pot). Current reading is to be considered the accurate reading, another nute feed will be given and TDS of top soil to be monitored each feed. Yes a run off test would be more accurate but I don't currently have a run off tray of adequate size. LST going well, a decent separation of branches has occured, considering additional fan leaf defoliation of lower stem modules to allow light to develop the lower main branches. I can't wait to see the next week's developments!

KUNST Huge growth this week, it's clear I have almost run out of space, decisions on flowering and nutrients to be made, more LST and the occasional light defoliation with intention of removing covered fan leaves. 44 - 21/03/2025 - Fed 1L of nute water (Bio Grow only - Nute chart was read incorrectly), light defoliation around top of plant to provide more light to lower plant branches. 46 - 23/03/2025 - Fed 1L of nute water, direct run off Test tested at 1800PPM, plant shows (Bio G) no signs of nutient burn, either incorrect this is an incorrect reading or the plant is in some way related to Anthony Kleidis. 48 - 25/03/2025 - Fed 1L of treated water following high PPM detected in run off, run off tested at 775PPM, SCROG net has been implemented and taller central branches to be grown laterally to ensure lower branches catch up to the canopy level. Plant showing very slight lighter tips, hoping this will correct in the coming days. We are now at almost 7 weeks veg, plant is looking healthy and a good canopy is starting to form, net in place and looking ahead to the flowering stage and how much grow is left Vs tent space. With this in mind, I have made the executive decision to begin to induce flowering. As the PPM has returned down all feeds will now be adjusted to suit flowering (BioBizz suggest all 3 at varying strenths), light cycle will now be reduced by 2 hours a day, ideally 1 hour per day would have been preferred however time this step shouldn't be too much of a shock hopefully!

KUNST Week V7: 23/03/2025 – 27/03/2025 23/03 – 1L nutes. Runoff tested at 1800PPM. No burn signs. 25/03 – 1L treated water. Runoff: 775PPM. SoG net implemented. Starting lateral growth training. Transition to Flowering: Plant healthy, canopy forming. Decision made to flip to flowering. Light cycle reduced by 2 hours/day. Stupidly at this point I checked the guidance for nutrient schedule for the flowering period to find that I wasn't suppose to be giving all the nutes (there wasn't any apparent issues with this), only Grow, as such edited and will now be following the correct direction.

KUNST Week F2: 04/04/2025 – 10/04/2025 05/04 – Continued stretch management. Most branches at canopy. 06/04 – 2L nutes. Away for 2 days. 09/04 – Returned to thirsty plant. Tent RH dropped to 50%. Fed 2L. Flowers forming. Damn! Stretch! Please stop, for the love of Christ please! I think lateral branch management was the solution here, better to get them in position now so you don't have to man hadnle the developing buds at a later date!

KUNST Week F3: 11/04/2025 – 17/04/2025 12/04 & 14/04 – 2L nutes. Minor branch LST. 17/04 – Major defoliation. 2L nutes. Risk taken but plant strong. I was hesitant about this late defoliation, I should of gone harder prior to flowering, my mistake and easily avoidable with experience. All that in mind, there is ample room for airflow. Currently cool air is being brought in through the bottom of the tent, circulated via the internal fan, then pulled up and out through the exhaust fan system, air is then easily vent out of the external rom to manage humidity (also done by using an extractor fan - can you guess where it is yet?). I think the stretching is coming to a close, finally, almost ran out of headroom...

KUNST Week F6: 02/05/2025 – 08/05/2025 02/05 – 2L nutes. Reduced N due to slight burn. Continued Bloom + TopMax. 04/05 & 05/05 – Plant drying quickly. 2L each. 07/05 – 2L nutes. Bud size increasing. I feel like everything is going to plan... just going to keep going as we are. Considering late flower defoliations to ensure lower bud sites get ample light later in the period.

KUNST Week F7: 09/05/2025 – 15/05/2025 09/05 – 2L nutes. Sea of trichomes. Some pistils browning. 11/05 & 13/05 – 2L nutes. Orange pistils increasing. 14/05 – 2L pH water only. Extractor may have dried soil. 15/05 – 2L nutes. Final nute feed before flush. Harvest prep begun. I read a whole bunch of stuff on flushing to allow the plant to use as many nutrients as possible, whilst I do not have any science to back this up I believe this factor may have affected the end product, to re-iterate though I would say this is purely anecdotal. I like to classify myself as something of a nuturalist at this stage 😂

Removed as much as I was comfortable with, in retrospect I should of removed a little more than I did. Removing more foliage on the earlier defoliation would have side stepped this later issue. From hear on out it's just good clean H-2-O There maybe limited updates for the next week until the harvest?

Happy Harvest Day!

This was my first ever grow and honestly, I’m over the moon with the results. The yield was solid, the strength of the bud matched what I’d expect from GSC, and while the terpene/flavour profile turned out quite different to what I’ve had before, it was still top quality. I feel the scent of cookies comes through most pronounce during curing. Given the time, money, and effort put in, the return was more than worth it. Trimming and drying was straightforward too, no need for extra kit like dehumidifiers, which might’ve just been lucky timing with the UK climate. For upgrades, I’m considering either: - A bigger tent to run up to 4 pots - A better quality light for the current setup - Or both, depending on where I go next. There’s definitely appeal in scaling up, but I’m more tempted to try a variety of strains next time instead of just maxing yield. What stood out most in this process? The info. I read everything. YouTube’s full of growers who don’t have a clue, flexing tiny, mouldy plants like it’s gospel. Yet the best advice I found came from quiet voices, random growers in forums or comment sections who were downvoted but bang on the money. Holistic, practical, no-nonsense advice. My method might seem technical at first, but once the setup’s done, it’s dead simple: pH your water. Don’t overdose nutrients. Use a solid 60/40 soil and compost mix. Keep it basic. Forget the high-tech nonsense and overcomplication, most of it's just noise. I realised around Week 4 that I'd bought an overpriced pH down solution when a cheap store-bought acid would've done the job for pennies. So here's my advice: Keep. It. Simple. Don't get sucked in by the YouTube grifters pushing bad advice just to sell Mars Hydro lights. If they’re spraying mildew in flower week 3, they’ve already lost. Just like in music, start with something decent and you won’t need to fix it later. This whole process is easier than you think, costs less than you’d imagine, and can be done anywhere, even in colder climates. If you're even slightly curious: do it. Grow your own. Learn by doing. And don’t let clowns sell you junk.

KUNST Final Harvest Summary Dried for 1 week in tent using extractor to control RH which was kept at an (almost) consistent 50%, Curing process is ongoing, the jars are excellent for this, ensure your harvest is not moist before curing! Dry Weight: ~71g Aroma/Terpene Profile: Fruity dominant with a biscuit under tone (more pronounced on curing) Bud Quality: Good but slightly airy (likely grower error) Effects: Relaxing, happy, sleepy. Excellent for evening/night. Closing Notes: First ever grow and happy with the results! Any and all feedback is welcome to help improve future runs.
