Purple Ghost Candy

Ak743 Soil vs Hydro - purple ghost candy strain for both. Since hydro is know to be faster, we gave the soil a 10 day head start. Seed A: Soil - germinated on march 3 Seed B : Hydro- germinated on march 13 We have the hydro in a rock wool plug, we let this sit in a small soil pot for a week to allow some roots to sprout through the plug. Transplanted it to the hydro system yesterday and he is looking good. Both plants look healthy, excited to see how they progress.

Ak743 Week 2 veg: photos show the weeks progress from the last update. Soil is definitely still in the lead, starting to see a lot of new nodes. Hydro is getting a water change & fresh nutrients every Friday. It does seem to be slower in development from our soil plant, may be due to some transplant shock. Leaves for the hydro look dark and healthy so we are just keeping a close eye for now. This coming week I will likely top the soil plant once 6 nodes high. Using Humboldts secret nutrients for both soil & hydro plants.

Ak743 Topped the soil plant (seed A) last Sunday and growth has really started to take off. Did some additional fan leaf pruning today and removed some baby nodes on the new branches to ensure it’s focused on more growth this week. Overall super happy with how it’s looking. Seed B (formerly hydro) on the other hand had some set backs. I noticed some yellowing at the tips on Wednesday, it had definitely been stunted in growth since the transfer. Upon checking the roots I found them to be slime coated- root rot forming. I did attempt to add some enzymes + hydrogen peroxide but saw no improvement after 24 hours. I did a root trim of the bad roots and transferred her back to soil to attempt to save. Uncertain if she will make it sadly.

Ak743 Did a lot of LST this week, I’m determined to get a nice even canopy with all main branches. Put up the net today (probably alittle early) she’s just starting to spread out. Did a lot of pruning/ defoliation on any fan leaves blocking light to the lower branches. Plant b is barely holding on, little change currently.

Ak743 Did a lot of lST again this week, really happy with how even the canopy is currently. Going into week 6, now will just wait until she gets a little larger to flip her.

Ak743 Another week of defoliation, LST, and some more topping. Now that I have the branches nicely spaced I’ll let the plant focus on some vertical growth this week. Depending on how we look come next week I’ll likely flip to flower. I did take a few cuttings this week as well, will see if we can turn any of these into some new plants.

Ak743 Officially the last week of veg, flipped her to 12/12 last night. Excited to see the stretch this coming week as we begin flower

Ak743 Week 1 of flower down, starting to see some good growth, bud sites forming.

Ak743 Week two of flower down. Plant is getting larger by the day, and is drinking more water. Continuing with nutrients every other watering. So far so good!

Ak743 A little defoliation at the beginning of the week. Bud sites are already looking frosty! I pulled some of the center branches to the side in the Scrog net to get some additional light to the buds going down the branches. Tops are all looking good.

Ak743 Added an additional light this week- trying to ensure that the bud sites get as much light exposure as possible.

Ak743 Buds are growing! Did some defoliation this week. Noticed the start of Nut burn on a few leaves this morning so flushed her with clean water. While we had her out we went ahead and cleaned out the tent before situating the branch’s back in the scrog. Will keep an eye on and feed plain water again later in the week.

Ak743 Did a few more flushes earlier in the week to address the nutrient burn that started to creep up. Realized from testing the runoff water that my ph coming out was 5, and ppm was reading 2000. Continued to flush with ph water until runoff was at 6 ph, and 1000ppm. Will check again in a few days once she dries back out but hopeful I got all the excess salts out. It’s been a challenge to keep the tent cool as well, was spiking up to 85 some days. Any tips on cooling would be appreciated! Really want to engage the purple coloring and keeping it cooler is key.

Ak743 Buds are growing by the day! Focus this week has been on trying to trigger the purple coloration. Changed up some nutrient ratios and have been making sure it doesn’t reach above 79 degrees in the day. Seeing the bud sites becoming very frosty. Smell is amazing.
