Day 1 to 6 | Veg (start Wednesday 6 March) Buckle your bloody belts, here comes another spare room grow in the shitstorm that is my local weather! Plants are 2 x Barney's Farm LSD's. Strain are clones from a friend who imported seeds and is a great pheno- covered in white trichomes when fully mature, very exciting. Some would say, moist in the loins. Honestly, I've seen people drag their nuts through a mile of broken glass to hear this bud burn through a walkie talkie. *I talk shit in these comment sections so that when I go back and read them I laugh at myself.* Setup is a 110L tank that holds ~50L of water. Plants sit in here and this is where my roots drop into the water, I have 4 x 4inch air stones- one in my res. and 3 in the tank.. I have a 30L reservoir where a constant flow of water funnels through a 50mm pipe from the tank. To cool the water I have a 120mm aquarium fan that blows into the res and runs up the 50mm pipe into the tank- a cooling method that has dropped my water temp significantly (3 degrees C). Plan for this grow is to reach over 300 grams with 2 plants in 0.84m2 space. That's asking for 0.75g per watt. A tall order but let's see how we get on. Weather is humid, we have thunderstorms in the afternoon and intermittently throughout the week. Day temps are ~30 and evening temps around 22.

Week 2 | Day 7 to 13 Plants have been growing beautifully! I topped and started the initial process of mainlining. Plants have taken well to the cuts and continues to grow centimetres every few days. End of this week I will do a nutrient flush with fresh water and nutrients. I need to add more calmag in the next run.

Week 3 | Day 14 to 20 Plants have increased in size terrifically well. I have been able to keep the LST semi-low, however, I broke the stem off of Liz (plant 1/left) So now there is only 1 mainline arm. But not to fear, I have hatched a plan with my grow buddies and we are going to attempt surgery. I am growing a third arm on Liz and I plan to graft it onto the second mainline. How wild! I am going to bump up the nutrients in the next run from 10ml to 15m / per 10L. Plants can do with some extra growth assistance.

Howzit, So I am going to attempt to graft an arm onto my one plant, seeing that I mainlined two great stems and like an inattentive fool broke one off. My question: Anyone done this before and have any pointers for me? Not sure what the likeliness of this working is.

Heyy Zimbo yes it can work doing the grafting method. It is harder because most likely if your having to attempt a graft the branch has snapped completely off. Now when trying to fix this you need to make sure where it broke does not "scab" up or else it wont heal back onto the plant. It is very tricky but can work i have done it once or twice before an i had a little spot that had "scabbed" over so i took a scalpel an made the slightest cut just to get it back open to a fresh cut make sure it is fresh like that on both spots you are trying to graft the put the branch back on an use some tape to hold it on sometimes you will have to add something to act like a splint as well. You can also look into some of the different cutting method before the graft to get more surface area touching where it will be grafted. Hopefully it will take if not and you see it drooping you can always try to save it an make it a clone Happy Growing!!!

Week 4 | Day 21 to 28 Both plants have had some great growth over the past week. I installed a net to assist in keeping the mainlining nodes flat and horizontal. I've noticed that mainlining takes FOREVER to complete seeing that new growth is cut off to make way for dedicated nodes. Last few grows I was switching to flower in week 4, with this I think it's going to be another 2 weeks or so. Definitely a time delay but I'm hoping that the mainlining allows for a higher yield. I have increased the nutrient intake this week- flushed the system out completely and put in fresh nutrient water. I increased the calmag slightly to help with the repairs of the topping.

Week 4 | Day 29 to 34 Liz Lemon has had some accelerated growth since I did all the topping and branching out of mainline stems. Really pleased with the growth of the plant at the moment, and I am hoping that another 2 weeks should be enough of a base before I switch to flower- so week 5 and week 6 will be the last of the Veg, week 7 we are switching on over to flower. Plant nutrients are going up again, the last bump had no nutrient burn so increasing to 20ml per 10L. Aiming to have the nutrient levels at 25 or 30ml per 10 before I hit flower. This weekend I will be attempting the graft. Yip, that's right, I'll be crossing my fingers that Odin send some Godly powers to the plant and lets the graft take. If all works out, I should have a completely different strain growing on the plant. I wonder how this is going to turn out...

Week 6 | Day 35 to 41 This is the final week of Veg! The plants are in a great condition, probably some of the best I've ever had. Although I did fuck up on the graft. I don't think I did the joints properly and I introduced some root solution that probably didn't help. There's always another time for experimentation. The supercropping done in week 2 is really starting to come through. The calicus that have formed are super strong and have made the plant extremely hardy. Really chuffed with the way the plant is growing at the moment. Due to the height of my tent (Only 1.6m or 5.2ft) I have to try and keep the ladies as low as possible. I don't think LSD is a very stretchy plant, so I am hoping they don't out grow the space or I am in shit. To combat this I will be switching to flower next week and running the metal halide for the first two weeks. This helps keep the stretch down before I move over to the HPS. I AM EXCITED.

Week 7 | Day 42 to 48 | Flower Day 1 to 6 WE HAVE LIFT OFF. I did a large defoliation, I think I was a bit baked and trimmed too much. Rookie error. However the plants are looking wonderful. I will tally the total stems on Liz Lemon next week once they have had a good recovery from the trim. I have upped the nutrients to try and aid the kick into flower, and the absorption of nutrients. The roots are looking peachy although I have picked up on a problem. By constantly running a drip feed from the top of the netted basket, the roots became dependent on it. When I stopped the flow for a few days, the tips dried up. There is still a massive root network so I think I'll be alright. Will use the metal halide light for the next week or so into flowering, want to try and keep the stretch low- my last grow put my light too close to the top of my tent and I didn't have much wiggle room.

Week 7 | Day 49 to 55 | Flower Day 7 to 13 THEY ARE ALIVE. Witnessed significant growth throughout the first week of 12/12. The plants took from veg to flower within a matter of days (fastest I've seen to date) and have had a 10cm growth spurt. I did some shuffling and further defoliation as to make way for the new fan leaves. The canopy pictured in this round of shots is bang on day 7 and 24hrs after a thorough snip. Shows you how quickly they bounce back (edit: I added a photo just after the defoliation). I am maintaining the nutrient level for another few days and will up the dosage to 38ml per 10L in the next run. Will see how far I can push the nutrients with frequent flushes near the end of flower.

Plant Week 9 | Day 56 to 63 | Flower Week 3 | Flower Day 14 to 20 Liz Lemon is on fire 👍 The two plants have started to show their strengths and weaknesses and differences of growth. Liz (left plant) had a badly performed graft- this was completely my fault, I snipped a perfectly healthy stem and poorly grafted it, and lost out on some bud here! Lemon (right plant) has had tremendous growth from the mainlining and is looking to be a personal record breaker. Between the two of them there are 14 main stems and 21 off-shoots. So 35 individual bud spots that I'm hoping to get over 300g out of the harvest. Seems feasible for now!

Happy Harvest Day!

Grow went well and the amount of buds the plant created was great- multiple same sized buds that grow very dense and helped with the final weight. I should have let them veg for longer though- they could have benefited from an additional 3 to 4 nodes before switching to flower.

Bud was very dense and gave good weight for its size. But I should have flushed for longer as there was a burn on the smoke for a long time- even once the bud had cured for 4 months. Such a beautiful strain and would highly recommend it to any grower.

Hemp is a resiliant plant. and most time snapped branches are fixable. Its very common to break snap a branch or on outdoors the wind/ animals break them. If you give alittle help to your plants they most time make it

@Mrs_Larimar, thank you for the feedback. The stem completely snapped off so I want to grow a new branch then add it to the snap.

@Thee_HoffGuyy The graft didn't go so well. I think I rushed the process and didn't put enough thought into the way that the stem should be sliced. Been a few days now and the arm is dead 👻 I suppose there will always be another opportunity. This was me doing the procedure: https://youtu.be/mxHUSRk6f2g | and this was the final result: https://youtu.be/UP8i5uJ-Mf4

@Thee_HoffGuyy, Thanks so much for the insight. A friend has some Martian Mean Green mother plants, we're going to try a splice with one of those and see how it goes! I'll keep you updated on the progress if you would like?

@ThatZimbo, I believe it was like around 5-7 weeks old it was a little while ago so i don't remember exactly but I do know that one of the plants was like 2 weeks older the the other. There may be a a certain period where the chances are better but I'm not to sure. haven't done that much research on it just enough to kno it can work and can also be tricky
