MakFaso2022 HELLO, I DECIDED TO START THIS DIARY SINCE I WAS ABLE TO GET SEEDS FROM BARNEYS FARM, SOME FEMINIZED MOBY DICK. THE GROWTH WILL BE MIXED. I AM IN CORDOBA, ARGENTINA, AND FALL HAS STARTED HERE. I ALSO HAVE A TENT THAT IS 80X80X160 AND A 120W APOLLO LED PANEL THAT IS ONLY WORKING HALF OF THE TIME, AND A PANEL THAT I JUST GOT, A 60W-QB LITE-SAMSUNG QUANTUM BOARD. I WILL SHOW THEM IN THE NEXT PHOTOS. I PLAN TO VEG AND TAKE SOME CUTTINGS THAT I THINK I WILL DO IN HYDRO, WHILE I GROW THE MOBY OUTSIDE IF THERE'S SUN, AND IF NOT, LIKE TODAY WHEN IT'S RAINING, I HAVE THEM INSIDE AND GIVE THEM LIGHT ABOUT 18/04. MakFaso2022 Well, updating the Moby 1 with apical cut is still growing well, and around here the days are cloudy and it rains a lot, so I put them in the tent during the day and at night when I work, I leave them in my room with just the light from it to save on energy, and in the morning when I get back, I put them to sleep for 4 to 6 hours depending on how much I sleep 😜. The Moby 2 transplanted to its new pot has been there for about 3 days and is doing well. I might do a fim cut on this one in the next few days; I did it with more nodes on Moby 1, and with Moby 2, I want to try doing a fim on the 3rd or 4th node. And the most important thing is that when they have a couple of branches grown, I plan to take cuttings in hydro from these two, but that's another chapter...🏽‍♂️😜

MakFaso2022 Well, this week I did several maintenance tasks and pruning. I did a preventive measure, which is always better to do in the vegetative stage to avoid them as much as possible in the flowering stage. The Moby1 is doing very well after its apical pruning, now growing its lateral and lower branches. For Moby 2, I did a FIM pruning; I want to see how this genetic reacts. Two days later, I did a watering with Top Veg to feed it after the stress, remembering that this grow is mixed Indoor/Outdoor in Autumn here in Argentina! 🌟🌟🌟🤭

MakFaso2022 Well, these days I did another apical pruning at the tips of Moby 1 besides the one at the top since it responds well. I plan to do apical pruning on the side branches, a topping. Moby 2, with its FIM pruning, is healing and it looks like it wants to make more than 2 tips, and the lower side branches are growing. Although soon I will have to add more substrate in a transplant, I'm going to wait a few days for the apical ones to gain strength.

MakFaso2022 Good morning, this week I pruned the lateral branches of the Moby 1 since they are growing very well, just like the apical ones. The little leaves on the apical ones look great, and as they grow, I really think I'll continue with the prunings. In a few days, I plan to start taking cuttings in hydroponics from this genetic, which I would put to flower outdoors since we are in autumn with shorter days, and it's a good time for the plants outside to flower... The Moby 2, with its FIM pruning, can already be seen in the video that more than three tips are forming, making the technique successful since I've done it before and it's going well. Although it needs more substrate, I'll change it in a week or so since it's an expense I want to delay, but it's doing well and is on top veg, and in these days, I'll also add top underground for the roots, which are coming along nicely...

MakFaso2022 Moby 1: Hey, this week the Moby 1 has been fed with top veg and top Underground. It's doing really well! You can tell the branches I topped are strong, and the stems are fattening up. I'll do another pruning on the lower lateral branches soon. It looks very healthy in its leaves, and the stem has a color that's a mix between green and reddish from the same genetics, as there are no signs of deficiency. Moby 2: The second one is a different phenotype, more green overall. You can notice a difference in the leaves since this plant has more serrated leaves, but it's really pretty. As the branches started to grow more, I decided to add substrate in the same pot since I initially placed it there with only half the substrate on purpose to reuse the same pot. I added top Underground because a few days ago I added the top veg.

MakFaso2022 Moby 1: Hi🏽♂️ this week Moby 1 got another trim on the tips of the lower side branches, it has topping on all the branches and I hope to see growth in the coming days, because if it keeps up this pace, maybe in two weeks I can start taking the first cuttings to root them in hydro, the branches and leaves look really nice. I remember they are growing with sunlight from noon since in the morning I let them sleep a few hours inside the tent and when the sun goes down at night they are left with just a regular light and some nights in the indoor with the Samsung panel or the Apollo 4 depending on the work I'm doing on them. Moby 2: The second one, but not any less important, is doing very well recovering from its FIM trim, I can already see at least 4 future tops plus the side branches. I knew it was lacking substrate but I looked more closely and saw that near the substrate the stem wanted to grow more roots, so I recycled some substrate I had and added rooting agent. The plant had already received top veg days before, so I decided not to give it again just yet. After moving it, it was in the tent all night with the Apollo 4 and the next day in the afternoon I forgot and put it in the sun, but the leaves were already lifting and it showed no signs of stress, so I left it and at night it only has a ceiling lamp light since some coconuts from a regular I harvested are drying in the tent.

MakFaso2022 Moby 1: I went several days without posting anything. The Moby is doing well with its apical growth. I noticed some weird leaves, so I checked and saw that under the largest and oldest leaves, there were 4 eggs or already flies. What I did was apply a neem and potassium preventative and I removed almost all of them gently with my fingers. Moby 2: She grows at her own pace. There are days when she grows quite a bit, meaning in height and branch growth. This phenotype has fewer lateral branches, but it has a FIM cut, so it has different timing.

MakFaso2022 Moby1: I'll be brief, I did LST and its tree-like shape honestly grows quite a bit in branching. I'm thinking of letting the apical tips grow a bit more and then taking the first cuttings from the Moby1. Moby2: It's growing at its own pace, its branches are growing and its FIM pruning continues its process. I would like to do another transplant on this Moby2, maybe recycle a bit and not move it to a much larger pot. I would do this to control its growth and use it as a mother for another batch of cuttings.

MakFaso2022 In the next update, I will do some apical pruning on the 2 Moby plants. The branches of Moby 1 are growing very vigorously, and Moby 2 is also growing a bit faster. They are absorbing the top underground and top veg that I gave them these days. 🙌

MakFaso2022 Hey, this week I added silicon from the Kawsay Nutrients brand, which I use in hydro. I just ran out of batteries for the pH meter, and I know that silicon raises the pH quite a bit, so I added a bit of pH- by eye. Moby 1: I did apical cuts or topping on all the branches since they were growing fast, and when I cut the apicals, juice was coming out from the cuts; the sap was flowing through the whole plant apparently without problems. One afternoon and night of rest with low light, and the next day in the afternoon in the sun without issues. I hope in the coming days they gain more strength with the silicon. Honestly, this Moby 1 grows very bushy, and its stem is thick for being in just over 3 liters. When I take cuttings, I might do a root pruning to keep it with rescued substrate in the same 3 liters. Moby 2: The 2 is growing very well; its stem is also slowly thickening, and it has its characteristic smell. Fewer branches, although with a couple of apicals due to the FIM pruning it has undergone, it’s going to be good. I have two different phenotypes of the same genetics. Since it got dark after 7 PM, I have them outside in the dark; it’s already midnight, and I put them under cover with a regular light since my son is home today, and the indoor is in my room. Otherwise, normally they sleep in the morning for about 5 hours, but in the vegetative stage, it doesn’t affect them much. Before putting them under cover, I check them out and see the progress. MakFaso2022 We're back, after several days I was opening the plant a bit after having done several prunings and I performed a defoliation on both Moby Dick... Moby 1: She's still growing with her reddish stems and branches, she branches out well, which is a good characteristic. I did a leaf pruning of about 70%, I didn't want to stress her too much. Moby 2: Her secondary branches are growing at their own pace, always maintaining their predominant green color and a rougher smell. I also applied leaf pruning, but maybe around 85%, we'll see how everything goes.

MakFaso2022 Moby 1: still recovering from its leaf trimming, very good genetics, I highly recommend it, very good branching. Moby 2: growing and soon needing a transplant because maybe the substrate is a bit more humid than it seems, so far everything is good.

MakFaso2022 After several days without posting anything Moby 1: I transplanted it into soil at two weeks and did LST. Today is Friday, Monday or Tuesday I'm taking cuttings in hydro. Moby 1 already has hairs and wants to flower. Maybe I'll take cuttings and flower the mother outside, taking care of the cold since she's already used to the climate. Moby 2 still has some time, but Moby 1 already has little branches for cuttings and I have everything I need... Moby 2: the best, it grows well. Soon we'll know the sex; it's always a week and a half or more behind the biggest one, which is 1...

MakFaso2022 Moby 1: Well, after being very busy for days, dealing with a toothache and spending time with my son, I’m catching up with the girls. After feeding them top veg, top underground, and Kawsay Silica, the plants are doing great and strong, and finally, the moment has come to take the first cuttings from the Moby 1, which is already showing its first hairs indicating female sex, so I decided to do it. After pruning, I put water and patched the cut branches with a bit of saliva, and that’s it. Moby 2: The second but no less important, Moby 2 is at least 2 weeks behind her bigger sister, so she hasn't shown her sex yet. This phenotype is greener and has a strong smell. I hope it doesn't turn out male or hermaphrodite; it shouldn't since they are feminized seeds of good quality. But the truth is I did several prunings and LST transplants, so it wouldn't be the first time a sativa gets stressed. I’m still giving both of them growth time, so this one keeps growing its branches and I can take cuttings from her too like her sister; that would be awesome!! I’m going to upload the diary of the cuttings from Moby 1 and hopefully from Moby 2 later. 🧑🏽‍🌾

MakFaso2022 Moby 1: I already took cuttings, there are 5, one that I left with two tips to see what happens, the others are in perfect condition just like the mother, from which I plan to take a couple more cuttings once the first ones root, and then I would move her to flower in a pot outdoors so they can be ready before spring. It would be a winter grow of the mother and the cuttings too, except for one that I plan to leave in hydro to get some juice out of it... Moby 2: She's beautiful and branching with lots of little leaves, and she'll show her sex soon. Tomorrow I'll start putting some insulation outside the pots for both so the cold doesn't hit the root ball too much. MakFaso2022 Moby 1: I changed my mind after taking the first cuttings. I was going to wait to take another batch and then I thought about flowering, but since I have new substrate, I decided to do a sort of root pruning to transplant into the same bucket but with new substrate and more LTS. After it recovers and starts to veg again, I already saw a couple of little frogs that will be good for cuttings, and then I'll put Moby 1 into flower. This is because I trust that one of the cuttings might be chosen as a new mother and others to flower... Moby 2: Well, with this one, the situation is like this: it keeps growing really nicely with its leaves and branches, but I notice that the substrate isn't drying out completely or that it's very humid, and on top of that, the cold in the late afternoon and morning isn't helping to reduce the humidity. At the same time, I'm waiting for it to sex so I can start with the cuttings too, but I'm in doubt about whether to transplant or not...

MakFaso2022 Moby 1: Recovering from the transplant, the Queen is getting better; she had already been sexed and had her first hairs, and the cuttings I took also had their first hairs, so she needs to revert the process. The good thing is that they do well to put them back; I already confirmed it with other cuttings I took in flower. They also call it SuperCropping, I think. Moby 2: The younger sister received a bubble wrap cover; I don't know what it's called, the one we all see and have to pop some for sure, haha. It's really cold, and I'm making her sleep indoors, but outside from 7 PM to midnight or so, those 4 hours if I need to change them, I will; it's not much of a problem since I'm not in flower yet.

MakFaso2022 Moby 1: I gave it a preventive foliar spray with Neem and Potassium so it can heal and continue recovering from the transplant and pruning. Honestly, it can handle it all; it's very resilient and vigorous... Moby 2: Well, I was doing a root pruning on this Moby just like on the 1, only with the 2 I managed to do the pruning because I saw the substrate from the middle up was a bit too damp, and in fact, when I transplanted from the middle up, it fell apart due to the moisture. I was unsure about doing the pruning since I'm waiting for it to sex so I can take cuttings in a few days since it's a different phenotype with a stronger aroma and different colors. P.S.: After 7 days, the first roots are already coming out from the cuttings of Moby 1...

Moby 2: It's still on 20 hours of light and 4 hours of darkness, so it's taking its time to show its well-defined sex, but it already has some hairs here and there, making us wait since it's another phenotype that's greener and has a strong smell. MakFaso2022 Moby 1: I applied a preventive with Potassium soap and neem, and I've also been watering these days with top veg and underground so the roots keep growing. Its branches are more developed, and in these days, I would be ready to take a new batch of cuttings. The truth is, the genetics are really good, and the cuttings root quickly. MakFaso2022 Moby 1 and Moby 2: Today a different comment format 😜 since I did the same procedures for both Mobys. I was preparing to take the second batch of cuttings from Moby 1 and the first from Moby 2. I had transplanted them less than two weeks ago and was waiting for them to recover from the stress. Today is Father's Day, so as a good dad, I'm dedicating some time before the sun goes down since it's getting really cold around here. I ordered an aerator from the market that came with two diffusers because I have a cloning machine and I plan to keep it just for that and set aside a crystal meth that is in the middle but a bit slow, so I want to put it aside. Anyway, I was missing the things I ordered; I’ll fix the rest myself, and I ordered some baskets for the cloning machine that I lost, but they should arrive in a few days. In the meantime, I’ll get creative and put most of them in water and some in soil to see if they root. Excellent genetics from Barney Farms; you can tell the quality holds up to everything, and they look beautiful. Moby 1 has been a bit red since it was young and continues that way. I want to see how the flowering goes with some cuttings outdoors. I hope it gets a good color, but above all, I want to see how much THC I can get out of it...

MakFaso2022 Moby 1: Well, after taking the second batch of cuttings, I decided to let this Moby 1 start flowering since it fulfilled its role as a mother. I'm doing this because I already have more than 2 cuttings and more rooting, and I want to have some outdoor production before spring. It's not going to be easy; we just entered winter yesterday, and the nights are really cold!! I'm going to take a picture of where I put it, on a kind of rug that I hang on a rope to protect it from the frost, the pot with bubble wrap that slows down the cold a bit from the 10L bucket, and I also support it on top of another pot so it's not close to the cold floor or on the floor since it would cool down a lot and grow slower. Moby 2: Still in the vegetative stage after taking a couple of cuttings, but I wish it would grow more so I can switch it to flowering. I started the flowering outdoors since in the tent I have the cuttings rooting, and one is already just in a 7L bucket. I keep it in the dark for 4 hours at night next to the Moby 1, and then I bring it inside and leave it in a hallway with common white LED light as a boost.

MakFaso2022 Moby 1: The Moby is 8 days into pre-flowering outdoors and it’s already getting dark around 6:30 PM and light after 7 AM. It’s quite cool at night now, with temperatures ranging from 3° to 16°. It adapts very well; I’ll see what I have to encourage flowering. It already had hairs showing its sex and it’s doing well. I applied Silica, and it ended up with a pH of about 6.4, so they’re stronger and can withstand some temperature changes. Moby 2: It’s in the vegetative stage, spending 4 hours at night and the rest in the sun, plus under white light to complete it. It will continue to vegetate, and I might take some more cuttings. P.S.: You can see in one photo the cone-shaped roof of the auto that I use to cover the plant at night; it’s simple but with the insulation in the pot, they’re covered quite well.

MakFaso2022 Moby 1: It's been almost a week and a half since it started flowering. I'm going to take another close-up photo, but you can tell it had a stretch at the tips. I gave it the last dose of top veg and also applied K9 from Kawsay, a flowering stimulant. Moby 2: I was going to take some more cuttings, but I saw that Tania already has three that rooted, so I'm going to keep it in vegetation. Well-fed and well taken care of, I might do some apical pruning to encourage its lateral branch growth even more.

MakFaso2022 Moby 1: The girl has been floating for a week and a few days since she started pre-flowering. I think I noticed the stretching, meaning she stretched a bit more as she entered flowering. It's worth mentioning that I'm acclimating this strain to our climate, which, although it had some hot days after a lot of cold—almost -8° below zero for a few nights—this strain is more suited for a subtropical climate. But as you've seen, she's doing pretty well... Moby 2: The second one, but not any less important, has a greener phenotype and a strong smell. I did some defoliation, and as you can see, she started growing leaves again as if nothing had happened. I still think she will continue vegetating, but I haven't decided yet. MakFaso2022 Moby 1: Well, from the calculations I made based on saved photos, this Moby has been in pre-flower for about 5 weeks. It's worth noting that I'm flowering it in winter outdoors, and it's cold!! The good thing is that some days in the middle of winter feel like spring; that's how crazy the weather is. For me, after the last stretch and forming the first pre-flowers, it's been just over a week of true flowering. The plant's stem and branches have been reddish from the beginning, and the flowers that are forming have a beautiful color between reds and violets, with a soft aroma. We'll see how it changes as it matures. Moby 2: This green phenotype that I put next to its sister to flower, one morning I thought I saw a mini male flower and got scared, but I said I'll leave it for two more nights and I'll realize that male flowers tend to show up faster. Two days passed, and the first hairs are starting to show after putting it on 12/12 outdoors, where we have fewer hours of light. The idea is for it to enter flowering in September, almost finishing the bloom, and I would help it by covering them for another week, but I think Moby 1 could almost be ready by that time. I put its sister, Moby 2, to flower about 2 weeks later. I will keep you updated...

MakFaso2022 Moby 1: La Reyna, the first whale to grow in captivity, is now in its flowering stage. Its flowers have different shades of violet and reddish, just like its branches and stem. Since it was born, you can notice the vanilla aroma that describes the genetics on the Barney Farms page. So far, it is very vigorous and branched out quite well. Honestly, it gave me quite a few cuttings, some of which I put into flowering and others I’m keeping in the same pots to delay their growth. Moby 2: Well, I decided to put the other queen of the house on 12/12 a few days later too, to have a harvest for springtime. Unless you plant autoflowering strains, it’s not really recommended to put them into flowering outdoors in winter. I’m doing the flowering at this time, considering the pros and cons, although it encourages me to see that the plant handled the pruning, the cold, etc., quite well.

MakFaso2022 Moby 1: It continues with its flowering, a lot of resin. What I did notice is that during dark hours, it accidentally received some light on some of its branches, combined with the cold it faced. Even though I took care of it, it was under a roof but outside, and we're just coming out of winter, so that could be one of the reasons why the flowers didn't bulk up much. It still has very nice colors and a lot of resin. I think this is the last time I’ll feed it; I’ll be checking in 2 weeks. It should be ready according to the bank, but I usually cut a part to try the effect. Although I’ve tried a bit already, and it’s a bomb... Moby 2: Well, we continue with the sister. Honestly, it made a notable stretch in its branches while producing its first flowers. It took a while to enter flowering, but then it advanced very quickly with the formation of its flowers. Just like its sister, I noticed it might have received some light at night, but unlike its sister, it didn't affect the growth of the buds. I did carefully remove some apparent male flowers that were on a few branches only. I hope it’s just for now, as it’s advancing very quickly in bulking up without affecting its relatives...

MakFaso2022 Moby 1: The queen whale is about a week or more from the 70 days of flowering that it says, more or less. I'm checking the trichomes, and they're starting to get milky, so I cut some branches, and in these days, I'll cut it completely while I'm washing the roots a bit every day. Moby 2: It's a little more behind in flowering compared to its sister, two weeks or more, although this one is growing its flowers faster. I took out pollen sacs; it was affected by light pollution or temperature. Even though I removed them, the flowering continues normally. I didn't check too closely, but it already has several crystals in its small flowers. Honestly, it looks really good...
