Hello everyone!
This is my very first grow diary, featuring the Gorilla Girl XL Auto from Sweet Seeds.
I chose this strain because, first of all, I like a strong hit, it responds well to training, and the pine-citrus-earthy flavor profile seemed interesting. I enjoy unique flavors, and I almost went for Blue Cheese, which I’ll probably try next year.

March 28-30
First good surprise: the first seed germinated in less than 24 hours, and today, after 48 hours, both have sprouted—perfect.
I planted them in an 85L container, facing south on a balcony, where they'll get full sun from 9 AM to 9 PM this summer. The container is covered by a 40cm-high greenhouse, which I’ll remove when the time is right.
(See plan) Since space is limited and my balcony overlooks a section of the road, I decided to optimize the setup by planting strawberries in the middle and cherry tomatoes along the outer edges. The tomatoes will be trained on a trellis to grow outward and help hide the other plants from prying eyes.
White clover is there as a living mulch and natural nitrogen booster for the early growth phase—and well, it looks nice too.
Eggshells and plastic bottles are in place to keep slugs away—those nasty creatures already devoured two of my previous seedlings from last year's seeds (Royal Bluematic and Pink Runtz), just a few days after sprouting. This won't happen again. Oh no, it won’t.
The plan is to train the plant with LST to spread it over about 50cm, before letting it grow upward to maximize space without getting too tall (see plan).
As for nutrients, I went with Biobizz: Root Juice, Bio Grow, Bio Bloom, Top Max, and Bio Heaven. I don’t know much about fertilizers, but this seems to be highly recommended, and my girlfriend insists on organic. Either way, I’m pretty sure this strain will deliver a solid yield.
I’ll keep you updated as soon as they poke their little heads out of the soil 😉

March 31
The first baby’s crowning !
I think it will be fully above ground tomorrow. The weather is beautiful, and it’s 25°C (77°F) under the greenhouse.
15h : Well ! In just a few hours, the plant that was barely peeking out of the soil is now fully out. Four days after receiving the seeds, I’d say this one is definitely a fast grower ! The other one is a bit behind, but I imagine it’ll be out by tonight or tomorrow.
Either way, this Gorilla Girl seems eager to grow! I wasn’t expecting this, but it looks like I’ll have to start the Root Juice earlier than planned !

Day 0 - April 3
Here we go! Both are out and opened, everything's looking good so far. I'm starting the Root Juice tonight. See you on Friday to kick off the first week of growth!

Furet Day 5 - April 8
The plants seem to appreciate the first doses of fertilizer. My Bio Heaven is arriving tomorrow, so we'll see if it gives them a little boost, but in the meantime they're bright green and already look robust.
——————————————————
Day 7 - April 11
The weather’s been perfect for a week now, and all the plants in my greenhouse have had a real growth boost.
The tomatoes—which I’ll be using to hide the other plants—are ready to go in the ground, along with some arugula that I hadn’t planned on, but that miraculously sprouted and will do just fine in the shade under the tomatoes.
The strawberry leaves have also gotten huge, and I’ll already need to guide them a bit so they don’t start invading the space of the Gorilla Girls, which are still only a few centimeters tall.
In a few weeks, this greenhouse will be a full-on jungle, and I’ll probably take the lid off, but for now, the nights are still a little chilly.

Furet Day 11 - April 14th
The second week is starting. Everything's going well — the plants look healthy, and the cherry tomatoes and arugula have handled the repotting just fine. I was a bit worried about the local climate, which can be quite mild, especially because of the wind (I live very close to the sea), but this Gorilla Girl is adapting really well and growing bigger every day.

Day 14 - April 17th
NSTR 😊 I’m leaving for a few days, see you on Monday to check the progress !
Furet Day 19 - April 22th
Alright, it’s gonna be 20 days tomorrow, so it’s time for a little update. As you can see in the photos, some slugs have eaten part of a plant’s leaves while I was away. I’ll have to start taking more drastic measures — it’s not too serious yet, but I can’t let them keep going. I’ve moved the plants a bit away from the edge of the greenhouse using supports, to stop the slugs from climbing up that way, and today I’m setting up some ways to get rid of them. If I have to choose between the life of my plants and the slugs, the decision is pretty damn easy.
Aside from that, growth has slowed a bit due to the cloudy weather and relatively cool nights — but that’s to be expected, and it’s nothing dramatic. The plant looks healthy and strong, no signs of deficiency: the veins are clearly visible, the leaves are thick, and the color is still uniform. No discoloration or burning either, so it looks like they’re handling the fertilizer pretty well. The stem still needs to bulk up a bit, but I’ll start removing the greenhouse gradually so it can toughen up in the wind.

LST begin

Day 24 - April 27
The plants are responding really well to LST! I’m not sure if it’s because of the strain, since it’s my first time doing any training on cannabis, but the stems are both flexible and very sturdy — I had no trouble bending them to a 45-degree angle, and it doesn’t seem to have stressed the plants at all.
After just two days, the nodes are already starting to develop thanks to the sun exposure, which is really encouraging. I thought the plants looked a bit small for three weeks of growth, but after comparing them with other outdoor Gorilla Girls on this site, everything seems normal so far.
The stretch should start within the next few days to a week, hopefully without any issues getting in the way of these little monsters’ growth.
The weather’s been great for a few days now and it looks like it’s going to stay that way, so for now, everything’s looking good.

Furet Day 29 - May 2
Week 5 is starting. Nothing special to report — the plants are growing steadily without any issues. I spotted a tiny pistil on one of them, which means the stretch is just beginning. I have no idea how tall she’ll get, but I’m hoping for around 30cm (currently she’s about 15 cm).
I’ll reassess at the end of the week to see how the stretch is going. I’m going to wait until the pistils are clearly visible before stopping LST, since I want to maximize those secondary buds.
This is the week where everything gets decided, so let’s pray!
(Ps : i’ve got my first strawberry !)
——————————————————
Day 33 - May 6
Well, so far the stretch has been a bit disappointing even though the side branches have gained a few centimeters in height. I think the cold nights slowed my plants down way too much. Good to know for next time — next year I’ll probably keep them in pots in April so I can bring them inside at night.
There are a few visible pistils on one of the plants, and the other just showed its first one this morning. So with a bit of luck, I might still get a few more centimeters, but I’m not expecting much.
Now it’s time to really boost these little bonsai babies and try to get some fat buds out of them! If I manage to pull 10 grams from both, I’ll be more than happy.
I also just started a Green Poison Fast Version, which I’m hoping will give me a few dozen grams. And in about a month I’ll pop my last two Gorilla Girl XL Auto seeds — perfect chance to start a new grow journal and compare the difference between an April and June sowing.
I started feeding them BioBizz Bio Bloom and Top Max today. Fingers crossed they take it well — so far they don’t seem to mind my doses (I’m keeping it light anyway, they’re small).

Day 35 - March 8
All ok, last day of growing !
Furet Day 36 - May 9
The pistils are now clearly visible on the larger one. I continued the LST to take advantage of the three side branches that stretched a bit over the past few days. The smaller one has gotten a bit ahead and won’t grow any further, but if I can get a few dense grams out of it, that’d be cool ! 😎
——————————————————
Day 39 - March 12
The bigger of the two plants has finally gone through its stretch. The second one, however, hasn’t at all. But it’s not a big deal. I’m going to stop using the growth nutrients and switch to bloom nutrients only starting with the next watering
Furet Day 43 - March 17
Flowering is progressing, and as you can see, there’s now a huge difference between the two plants—one didn’t stretch at all. However, I think it’s about a week ahead in flowering, though I can’t really explain why. We’ll see how it turns out, but I might end up with just one big 15cm bud.
As for the second plant, the side branches grew a lot last week and shouldn’t change much more. If the buds fatten up well, I think I could get at least twice as much from it compared to the other one

Furet Day 50 - Not much to say - Just keep growing 👌
It's great to hear that everything is going smoothly for your second week! The fact that your cherry tomatoes and arugula are handling the repotting well is a positive sign. It's always a bit of a gamble with local climate conditions, especially near the sea, but it sounds like your Gorilla Girl is thriving.
