First week of my Frisian Duck. I heard that Frisian Duck is suited for cold climates and gives nice purps. I chose Frisian Duck mainly for it's stealth, and I'm from a hot place and the temperature is rising above 30C now, however the duck she seems to grow without issues. Peace.
In case she faces heat issues, what should I do?
It's been over 20 days. The bottom set of true leaves have started turning yellow from the tip(not visible in the pic though). Is it a sign of heat?
Need to find a bigger container and move her to the terrace where she'll probably get more hours of sun, but makes it less easily accessible,as I have to go up and down a ladder to reach the open terrace.
Moved to a bigger container.
Previous container was filled with thick soil and was difficult to separate the roots and immediately transferred to the current container. 10% granite stones at the bottom and 70% Coco coir and 20% thick soil coarse mixture.
Also moved her to the terrace where she'll get more hours of sun.
The stem has a purple tinge to it, but the buds look green.
She's bending more and more in her own weight.
So I guess that means sunlight boost for the bottom buds 😁
Have some mirrors set up today, as the bent down bigger buds weren't getting enough sunlight due to its own shadow.
And the Purps are coming up beautifully.
I am not sure when she will finish though. 25th week? Let's see.
It grew really good considering the poor conditions that I could afford. She grew on 2-3 hours of sunlight per day for the entire veg phase. Once after I was able to secure a place in open terrace, that receives 8-9 hours of sunlight, it started flowering. Very beautiful light purple buds. After curing, smells a lot like Guava fruit.
I didn't notice the clog in the drain holes, plant suddenly started wilting. I was forced to harvest a week or two early. Well, Yet to smoke the stuff, currently drying it. Will update on the smoke report soon. Hoping better in my next duck
@MovingOn, Yes, it's mostly Coco with little thick soil mixed in it. Previous container had only thick soil (initially I started seedling with a similar Coco + soil mixture though.), and as you said definitely roots would not have got enough oxygen. So this.
@jyodinath, Nah I understand that :) just have to wait for the harvest. Yeah, I believe they need a minimum of 1 week more. But we'll see how much extra they need :) Motherplant is short and "bushy" the way I need her to be in order to fit my small tent in the closet. The clones are just small bonus harvest didn't think they would survive both of em when I took off two branches from the bottom that didn't get light
@SmallTownGrower, I'm actually not able to describe the high, but it easily lasts a few hours. Your Duck girls look lovely, let them flower for an extra week or two. I'm sure you're gonna get a very bulky harvest, just wait.
@jyodinath, Nice, so not much on the body high then? How long would you say the smoke last? So interested in this smoke, can't wait for my shit to be done so I can try it out. Not expecting much at all in grams tho.. But something at least. :D
the bottom leafs that look nothing like the signature leafs do die off as the trunk gets fatter its nothing to worry about. as for heat they should love hot weather. my grow room sits at about 31 during the day and about 26 at night. as long and she has plenty to drink she should be fine. i seen people growing in arizona deserts and getting fab results. fyi more photos helps us see more but for 21 days they look small.
