This grow was overall fantastic. Like my diary title reads: 1Plant.1Pound. The breeders at Philosopher Seeds know how to put out some amazing genetics. This plant grew like some dank amazonian weed-tree. This thing grew in size so vigorously. However, with my schedule and other plants to tend to, things got out of hand with Big Lemon. She was just too big for her 5gal pot, and some damage caused by nutrient deficiency before I could properly amend the soil. She just ate everything, and its hard to not over water. So, I began feeding her 2-3 liter of feed twice or three times a day; if it was a warmer day then soil was dry enough to lightly feed three times. Its basically a soil-less medium grow, because of an extended veg period and my failure to transfer her before initiating flower. There were also space issues, resulting in her burnt tops; those beautiful, fat tops. So fat, yet so burnt. Full disclosure--I may have missed a feed here or there, hence all the crunchies on her tops. I got caught up with my studies and neglected my baby. My greatest shame 😟 The other Lemon OG Candy came out splendidly, however. Hey, every one!!! throw out some guesses about the total dry weight of big lemon! Come on lets see those guesses!

(Update: 4/20/19) Please stand by while they dry. (Update Everything is going great though! The smell is very strong now; no more cut grass smell. From looking at all three today, I believe that some of the smaller branches will be done drying and ready for trimming and weighing in a day or two. I have one guess for dry weight of Big Lemon, any other guesses?? Remember, the picture of Big Lemon hang drying looks like its two plants, but its all Big Lemon; I had to cut it off to be able to hang it. The amputated branch left of the main plant is bigger than my other two plants alone! (Update 5/2/19) Woah...Okay. So after drying the whole for about nine days, and trimming for four days, Big Lemon's dry weight SO FAR is about 430ish grams of super dense and sticky nugs. Its amazing that I got more big bud than I got popcorn nugs from such a big plant. I have one more 1/2 gal Mason Jar of untrimmed tops to finish, then I'll post pics or a vid of the weigh up and glamour shots etc.. Oh, almost forgot, Little Lemon produced about 40 grams of very nice bud. This surpassed expectations because, although it was planted on the same day as Big Lemon, it was the runt of the bunch because it got pushed out of the main tent that had all the lights and Co2 environment and everything. It spent much of late veg under a very weak light. I remember how limp it was when I gambled on it and chose to switch her over to 12/12. But it was totally worth it in the end! Alight back to work for me. Check back later today for pics, vids! (Final Update: 5219 @11:09pm PT) Its done. Its finally done! I had to trim both plants with my own two hands! So Exhausting, yet so rewarding. So above are several videos of the weighing. Grand total for Big Lemon is 14oz of prime top shelf nugs, and about 3oz of nice popcorn/LARF (they are separated as shown above in a video. Forgive me for not throwing it all together to weigh it, I spent a long, long, very long time trimming and sorting and canning the buds according to their respective grade/quality. I may add one more update to show their respective weights. Oh and little lemon produced about an 1 1/2 oz of prime nuggets and quite a bit of popcorn/LARF, which I haven't gotten around to weighing yet. So, Grand Grand total of Both Lemon OG Candy (amazing job with this beast of a strain, Philosopher seeds) is about 18.5oz, or 1lb 2.5oz for two plants; 15.6oz of which is entirely made up of top-shelf buds 😎 Damn I love SoCal, I didnt even need to run carbon filters because no one be trippin about a lil stink weed. Thanks to those for following this grow! Tell me what yall think! Cant wait to see some comments from all you growers out there. (Update: smoke review after a week or two of cure) This Lemon OG Candy had an extended veg period, about 4 months maybe a little longer, and I harvested her on day 56 of flower (recommended harvest 60-70 days) because of the size/distance to light and her root-bound problems. The results so far, a very uplifting and stimulating quality.

Clawing can have alot of Reasons, overwatering, underwatering, and Nitrogen excess. for not knowing how much nutes you use, i cant say no more to you. If you add pictures in natural light and your feeding schedule ican say more

@Bossy_Marmalade You know how to grow! It seems crazy that no one has commented yet on what may be @growdiaries biggest indoor plant ever! Maybe because blurple light pictures are hard to look at. Add white light when taking pics and people will love this!! Kudos to you and @philosopherseeds! Makes me want to buy those seeds, and I haven’t bought seeds in years cuz I breed my own.

Thanks for checking up on her, @growdoctordc. I remember you were the first to comment on her glory. Her buds are very very dense, and the smoke is top quality. I miss seeing her in my tent every day. Can you believe I didnt win one of GD's grow of the month give away competition?!?! Im tempted to repeat the experiment since I still have that custom tent installation. 😎

I use nftg liquid bone meal... great source of p and ca. My bottle smells like a combination of old piss and pepto bismol, what does yours smell like?

Oh you definitely should consider BK, its really unbelievable especially as a foliar. Get ready for them to put on some height too; foliar in veg makes em bushy less space bw flower sites as well as a bunch more flower sites; then, root drench in flower makes em stretch to enlongate dem bud sites. However, you always want to go like 6:1 of Herc and BK for drench to begin and then bump up from there. Also, your soil is huge when using BK, bc if their isnt enough Calcium the plant gets really sad real quick. I reccomend adding some One Shot in their to keep things good. Never use BK with a slurry test of below 200ppms.

@Bossy_Marmalade, not running bloom chaos, but it isn’t too late for me to start. Please tell me your findings.

Oh hell yea! Big ups to my #NFTG fam, @800peace!I use Herculean Harvest too, and a ton of it! There is nothing else out there like it. the piss smell is something ive heard people report. I believe it is starting to react with air and stuff bc its been around for a bit. At least thats what ive heard people say. I get the pepto tho lol! Are you running Bloom Khaos!?!?!

Great growing! Great use of side lighting... I might start using that idea. Looking forward to following your grow. Oh, what nutes are you using?

NFTG liquid bone meal. From my understanding, molasses feeds the microbes in the soil, not necessarily the plant. I amended the soil with myco and bacteria, and feed in twice per month.
Bossy_Marmalade
Bossy_Marmalade
@800peace, I saw your nutes, What liquid bone meal do you use? is it hydrolyzed? fyi the molasses molecule is super super huge rock to the stomata of the root system, thus your soil will take like 3 weeks to break it down. However, by introducing Microbe Life Photosynthesis Plus and/or SLF-100 you can break down large molecules. That said, I recommend ditching the molasses all together as it doesnt work. Thats an old growers trick from the 70s. In chemistry, we have moved beyond these techniques that simply plump up plants with sugar/carb weight that is lost in drying process.Instead, it is wiser to build up the plant cell walls (ie every part of the plant structure including buds) with an element like calicum which is not mobile within the plant and contributes to denser, more potent bud bc the plant can actually use calcium to build cell walls. Sugar does nothing.

Thanks for taking a peak, @Mrs_Larimar! Yea with that light its hard to tell by the leaf tips that the plant is eating itself 😩 She took some damage since then, lots of necrosis so gave her a good trim. Things are looking better now, ill post an update vid soon, hopefully with more white light

Hey Bossy_Marmalade, great grow! Awesome outcome! The 'cut grass' or hay smell, did that completely leave with proper drying and curing? I'm thinking of using a my herbs now dryer, but don't want to get that hay smell from drying it to fast...thought?

“one indoor plant producing a pound is almost unheard of” I’ve never heard of it. I grew 7’ Christmas trees outdoors and got 10-12 oz per plant. That Big lemon was beautiful

Breeding is easy. And you don’t have to give up all of your seedless bud to do it. ID a male who looks robust. Remove him to another room and wait a few days for his sacs to open. Collect pollen on a swab. Turn off fans in the flower tent so the air is still. Selectively, carefully pollinate one branch of a girl by gently dabbing her pistils with pollen. Wrap it loosely in a light weight, white fabric to minimize further pollination. Twist tie where the fabric gathers. Turn fans back on Allow her to finish. Really finish. Pick the other flowers as you wish, remove the fabric and let this branch continue. When she has dried up and looks about dead, your seeds are ready. I get about 200 seeds from a pollinated cola using this method. Spray the tent wet before starting the next grow. An outdoor plant left to be completely pollinated delivers on average 3000 seeds.

Thanks @Elysian_gardens710! Im very proud of my big lemon. I mean, one indoor plant producing a pound is almost unheard of. What a grow. Regarding that grassy chlorophyll smell, its always gonna happen after the plant is cut; however, this is the first time I did a slow whole plant dry in a dark space at 50%rh, and the hay smell was not nearly as pronounced nor did it last as long as opposed wet trimming. The good weed smell came back after about 2 or 3 days after cutting her down. I fell like wet trimming messes with the plants natural drying process, which throws off the breakdown of chlorophyll and carb/sugars etc. at a very important stage at the end of the plants life. So keep it low and slow bro 😎 Im unfamiliar with that particular dryer, but in any case you certainly dont want to rush it if youre looking to preserve the true smells. What is more, controlling your temp and humidity is the way to go to keep those terps.

Hey thanks @800peace! appreciate the comments, and the side lighting is super great for getting through the canopy from all angles. Bc this, I got big ol' buds way deep down in the canopy. Well, I'm a bit cagey about the nutrients i use, bc most people never heard of em, thus think its bunck and therefore wont understand how and why they are radically different and far superior to all other salt based nutrient lines (FF, GH, etc.). Its called Nectar for the Gods, a real small company out of Oregon, the line is more labor intensive bc requires frequent but smaller feedings bc this line is completely hydrolyzed, so you feed the plant directly instead of feeding the soil, which breaks down nutrients salts which then feed the plant. In addition to this organic line, I actively monitor my microbial colonies to maintain constant health and nutrient uptake. If you would like, i can break down my line in more detail bcs its quite a bit.

Hey thanks for taking a look @growdoctordc, and for leaving a super positive comment. I just joined this community and i'm real excited to share my progress and hard work. Youre right about the light tho, ill look into that. I have only been growing for 3 or 4 years now, but what I lack in experience I make up for in research abilities. Learning about cannabis is awesome, and breeding seems like the logical next step. Thurns out, Big Lemon up there ate up everything in her little 5gal pot, so its basically a soilless medium and she's eating me out of house and home! lol but I love her and she will definitely be worth it. Still a month and a half to go! isnt it weird that the smallest plant in the video is the same seed and breeder, and was planted on the very same day as Big Lemon.
