Both work and combined they work even better. When topping autoflower strains, you just have to keep in mind to top above the 4th node, removing the 5th, since when the 5th pair of leaves fully opens, the flower stage begins. Pure LST would take more attention and work.
CS spraying for 2 weeks and it looks like I will get some fem pollen by the end of the week. Seed formation progressing nicely. Those will be regular seeds for me and I will share with my friends the fem seeds from both plants. I have been saving pollen from my male all week 6 and storing it for future use. The fem pollen will get dusted onto my other diaries soon as they grow up.
Seeds almost done and starting to get some amber trichomes. I have been collecting fem pollen all week to be used on some future photoperiods.
Wow autos are quick! These came up on febuary 16 and then produced viable seeds exactly two months later. Never grew autos before and it has been over 10 years since I popped some seeds.
These were my first autoflowers and first plants since 12 years. I am happy with how they turned out. I learned how not to hang the led grow lights to close to the plants. And I learned you must water coco all the time if you want good results. I pollinated both plants and have hundreds of F2s to grow out and the fun begins again and only after 2.5 months. Wow, autos grow quick!
Thanks for all the comments. I am going to stick to LST for now and keep an eye on other autoflower grows that are topping their plants to see how they turn out.
As for this diary, it makes it easier to do little hobby breeding program! Its always exciting to see what grows out when you cross plants.
