Springtime Conditions: Substrate is light mix with a dab of seedling soil in the middle. Just water. No fuss. Growing on a northwest balcony. Maximum will be 7-8 hours of direct sunlight by June 21st. Started directly in the final pot. I put 2 seeds in the pot. The weaker one will be discarded. Both seeds have sprouted. That's already a good sign for breeding quality. Both seeds only got rid of their shell remnants with some help. I germinated indoors. It's still a bit cool at night. But after germination, they go straight outside. So it will progress rather slowly because at night it's only 3-6 degrees Celsius. I’m looking forward to your comments and hope you have fun following along.

Springtime Destroyed a seedling. It's not really growing fast at night due to the temperatures, as expected. But it will take at least 100 days anyway. So there are still at least about 95 days left. I think it will be more towards the end of August or early September... we'll see.

Springtime It's growing, but slowly compared to plants under artificial light. Well, it'll be fine...

Springtime The little one is growing, three-finger leaves are there. However, some of them look a bit messed up. Hopefully, that will clear up.

Springtime It's growing comfortably on its own. The pictures show pretty well how much growth is possible with nighttime temperatures clearly above 10 degrees. And I'm annoyed that I left the plant out in the cold when it was still cooler at night. We're probably already close to pre-flowering, and the little one is still quite small. There was also a bit of food this week, but primarily aimed at achieving root growth.

Springtime Day 1 of what is likely the last week of vegetative growth: side branches are developing now. Pre-flowers are not visible yet. It's going to be a wet week, but temperatures will stay above 10 degrees even at night. Day 4: 3 days of terrible weather - super windy and wet, plus it's quite cool, and this morning only 10 degrees… the little one is really drooping her leaves, probably because she's cold and has wet feet. Soon it will be warmer with more sunshine. Hopefully, she holds on until then. Day 5: I was able to go measure with dry feet today and took a few photos. She has gained 5cm in height so far and is now 25cm tall. She's leaning a bit due to the wind, the leaves have a few brown spots, and some new leaves have developed classic wind stress-related claws. Hopefully, they'll straighten out when it’s not so windy. At least I didn’t have to water this week… Day 7: Had two nice days to end the week. From 20 to 27cm, that's an increase of 7cm in a day. I'm curious to see how tall she is tomorrow on the first day of the new week.

Springtime Tag2: yesterday for the first time 30 degrees, today again! We are above the 30cm mark. And the pre-flowering has started. I don't think it will get more than 60cm. But let's see… aside from a few nibbled and discolored leaves, everything else looks pretty okay. I'm curious to see how it goes. Tag3: windy and cooler. Well, maybe there will be a thicker stem because of that. Hopefully not too much stress. Tag5: good weather good growth, maybe a little too much fertilizer, the rest of the week is a diet with clear water. Pre-flowering is becoming more noticeable. 40cm is already good, if it ends up being 60cm I will be very happy.

Springtime Hello and welcome to week 7: Day 1: Today is the longest day of the year, the little one is now over 50cm tall, which makes me very happy. She's not flowering too much yet, but she's starting to more and more. She has developed a mega side branch that's about 30 cm long. I'm curious to see how big the bloom will be on that. The weather is great. Tomorrow it's going to be really hot. Let's see how she handles that. Day 7: The week is over and it's heading more and more towards flowering. The storm didn't affect her much.

Springtime Hello and welcome to week 8: Day 2: The little one has put on some more growth and is now over 60cm tall and blooming nicely. She has become stable through the challenges of the past weeks. A 2cm thick stem - double that of the Apple of Eden. She looks a bit "bulky." Not quite typical sativa, I think. She smells incredibly delicious. A hint of lemon with mint and something else that I can't quite describe. It's still windy, and when the wind hits her just right, all the leaves curl up - looks kind of funny.

Springtime Welcome to week 10: The last week and this week have been terribly wet. I shook the little one after every rain, so she was really busy growing... Today (day 4) I shook her again after the rain. Unfortunately, the main bud broke off... well, not a big deal... the Apple of Eden next to her was already harvested yesterday in a panic out of fear of mold. I quickly trimmed the bud and hung it up. The Durban Poison seems quite robust against mold... I'm curious to see how it goes from here. I added a video on the topic of waving from the palm...

Zanarkand
Zanarkand commentedweek 61y ago
I think they are developing really well despite the weather! Now it's getting a bit more summery and the plants can still put on some growth.

@Zanarkand, thank you! Right now, despite the amazing weather, they're not really growing much. I probably overdid it with the nutrients in my greed. The leaves are dark green... From now on, it's just water for the week.

This year, I won't have any giant autos either... too cold in the first 3 weeks... But the photos will be good 😁

Springtime commented1y ago
@GermanGrow182, yeah maybe we started with the autos too early, I think next season I'll start - if I'm still allowed to - around mid to late May. The idea this time was to have the maximum sunlight for the flowering, at least that's what I have this time. The northwest balcony is really not great for growing, actually. And photos would technically starve for sunlight during flowering here. Maybe I'll give it a try. We'll see. I've already managed to get a bit through so far. Maybe it will work out after all…
