Looking forward to this grow, first time in coco and excited to see how this strain smokes.
Started them off in coco pellets which i'll hopefully transplant into final pots midway through week 2.
All 5 seeds planted have sprouted, 100% germination, not bad for cheaper seeds.
using a "450w" Meizhi led grow light for at least vegetation period.
Potted the plants up in final pots mid week and removed the smallest plant from the grow.
Had trouble with temps dropping to below 15c this week and had PH levels going up to 7, both all sorted now and look to be growing well since making adjustments.
21 days after planting seed.
Still struggling with low temps, dropping down to as low as 12c over night.
Look to be growing OK, hopefully should warm up a bit this week so expecting some big growth in week 4
28 days after planting seed.
Plants have bushed out quite a lot this week but stayed quite short at 8 inch tall.
Seeing signs of flowering beginning last couple of days.
Temps not a problem anymore.
Plants appear to be healthy.
35 days after planting seed.
Plants have bushed out quite a lot more this week and gained some height.
I don't think it is flowering yet, but I expect them to begin soon.
Temps problem has come back the last couple of days I have struggled to get it over 15c.
Plants appear to be healthy apart from what looks like nute burn on a few leaves. Decided to cut back on the rhizotonic this week, will probably cut it out altogether next week.
A few changes to the set up this week, changed light from Meizhi "450w" to a Meizhi "900w" and put turned my autopot system on.
I have noticed there are lots of lower branches developing underneath but are not able to get much light as are under a dense upper canopy of large leaves. would I benefit from any sort of cropping?
42 days from planting seed.
This week 3 of my 4 plants are now flowering.
The runt appears to have stopped growing, not exactly sure what has happened to it, maybe this one got affected by the cold temperatures I was having problems with early on. it is only 12 inch tall compared to 21 inch of the biggest.
The other three are looking good, 2 measure at 21 inch and the third is slightly behind at 18 inch. All three look healthy.
No changes to my setup this week other than moving my light up a couple of inches.
Still have the rhizotonic in my reservoir but will not put any in the next mix but will increase my A & B to 2.5ml per litre.
49 days from planting seed.
All 4 plants are now flowering
The runt has grown a little this week and is now flowering, I am starting to think that it could be a different strain? look at the difference in appearance compared to the others. It is now 17 inch. looks more like an indica strain?
The other three are looking good, 2 measure at 30 inch and the third is slightly behind at just under 26 inch. All three look healthy. lots of flowers appearing.
No changes to my setup this week other than moving my light up a few inches, starting to run out of head room in my short tent, will have to consider moving the fan and filter outside my tent if they get any taller.
No rhizotonic in my reservoir now but I have increased my A & B to 3ml per litre.
56 days from planting seed.
The runt hasn't grown any taller this week, still 17 inch. Looks to be flowering well but not nearly as many buds as the other 3.
The other three are looking good, they now measure at 32" 33" and 35". lots and lots of buds. They are really filling my tent right up.
The buds are starting to look a little frosty and the smell has got a lot more stinky this week, can definitely get hints of citrus/lemon.
No changes to my setup this week other than moving my light up its final few inches, no more room for it to go any higher now as it is right up to my filter.
No changes to nutrients this week.
Had a couple of leaves with marks on one of the plants, see pic, not sure if it as problem, only on a couple of leaves, the rest of the plant looks ok.
63 days from planting seed.
Buds are growing nicely, lots of them, no issues at all this week, just playing the waiting game now until these buds fully develop. Don't think i'm going to prune any of them, just pluck the dead/dying leaves.
The runt is a disappointment to me now, it just doesn't look anywhere near as good as the other 3. It is literally overshadowed by the others.
One of the plants now has 2 lower branches that have outgrown in height the main cola of the plant.
Smell is delicious, very strong now 😊
I'm struggling to get decent photos due to the poor light in my grow area without the leds on.
No changes to my setup this week at all.
I have increased the coco a & b to 3.5ml per litre this week and introduced some PK 13/14.
70 days from planting seed.
Per the Seedstockers website these seeds have a life cycle of 75 days seed to harvest, but they do seem like they need a couple of weeks still.
Buds are growing nicely, no issues, trichomes look clear still
I'm still struggling to get decent photos.
No changes to my setup this week at all.
I have not changed any nutrients except not put in any PK 13/14 this week.
Can't be long left now...…….😑
Day 72 - I found one of the main colas has a slight case of BUD ROT
I have cut out the affected area but keeping an eye on the situation. I think I have lost virtually all of the main cola.
Through fear of losing the whole crop I am going to defoliate all of the plants tonight to allow better airflow to the buds, fire up a dehumidifier to bring the humidity down (its only 47%) and start flushing with an aim to harvest on day 75, maybe later if I can.
Just checked 12 hours after finding the mould and trimming out the effected bud and currently no sign of mould or rot.
Day 74 - No sign of rot or mould, humidity down to 40%, Added pics of trichomes which are looking cloudy/amber, think I shall keep flushing until the end of week 11 (this Saturday) and then harvest 😎
Day 77 - No sign of mould or rot since I found it and cut it out on day 72. I think I must have caught It early and hopefully wont come back.
When I found the mould/rot I had planned on harvesting as soon as possible, but looking at them today, on a couple of the plants the pistils are still mainly white on the large buds.
So the new plan is to put a mild dose of nutrients back in the tank and let them go another week and see what happens 🙏
So yeah, pretty eventful week, going to be a lot less stressed once these plants get chopped 😄
Day 82
So after last weeks drama I have decided that day 82 is harvest day, so this is the final week of flowering!
Nothing to report, no more signs of bud rot or mould, plants seemed healthy.
Flushed with plain ph'd water for the last couple of days.
Will post up my harvest when dried and weighed
Happy with this grow and happy with the results, only harvested 3 plants as the 4th plant only grew to less than half the height of the others and so didn't get much light at the end.
If all 4 grew well then i'd estimate a yield over 300g's.
hung the plants whole for 7 days then trimmed down and finished the drying on a rack.
Jarred up in 2litre jars with boveda 62's
Nice day time smoke
Happy days 😀
