Herbie101 The outdoor season 2025 is finally heeeeeere!! Welcome to my 10th grow and its gonna be an organic balcony grow! Lets hope the weather will be a bit more stable than last year. I'm just gonna do a single outdoor run this time.
I tried to do two outdoor runs last season and it kinda bit my ass i guess. I'll keep it low effort, because during summer i tend to not take the same amount of time to care for my plants. Strainwise this is gonna be an interesting one!
Its my first time with some Mephisto beans and i wanted to finally run a strain with more cbd, but not pure cbd. Thats why i go with Canna-Cheese 1:1. Mephisto Genetics Homepage says this about the strain:
🧀
Indica/Sativa: 30/70
Cycle Time: 80 to 90 days from sprout
Size: 80 to 110cm
Yield: 50 to 80 grams.
Aroma and Flavour: Weedy, black coffee. Tastes of roast beef and red wine.
Flavour Keywords: Savoury, Funk, Fruity, Earthy, and Floral
Effect: Straight to the head, with euphoric feelings and an energy boost, before mellowing to the body
Medicinal Effect: Good for joint pain. Mood enhancer; relieve signs of anxiety and depression
Cannabinoids: 1:1 CBD:THC
Grow Difficulty: Novice
Growth Odour: High
🧀
So it seems like a perfect match for me. Easy to grow, savoury aromas and 1:1 THC/CBD. I am sold. I guess it's gonna be around 10% THC/CBD, at least thats what i heard. A perfect all day strain for autumn. When weather is getting wet and cold, my joints usually tend to ache a bit. And i guess this is gonna be a great medicine for that inconvenience.
But because i like to run at least two strains that compliment each other, it was a bit difficult to find a good pairing for the cheese. My wife loves citrus aromas, thats why i run at least one strain with some citrus in it most of the time. And because i ran out of my beloved Chempie a few weeks ago, i wanted something with a chance of gas. Thats why we agreed on Jet Fuel Mandarine XL. Jet fuel for me and Mandarine XL for her. Something a bit more activating and energising than the Canna-Cheese 1:1. Sweet Seeds says the following:
🍊
Indica: 37,8% Sativa: 61,8% Ruderalis: 0,4%
THC: 18-26%
CBD: 0,1%
Outdoor Yield: 50-150 g/plant
Indoor/Outdoor Harvest: 9 weeks from germination
Height: 50-135 cm
Effects: Stimulating, Relaxing
Taste: Mandarin, Mango
🍊
So i put the beans in a glas of water with some great white for 12-14 hours and put them intot he starters. I pop four beans of each strain and keep two seedlings. I give away the rest. Since i switched from smoking to dry herb vaping i use a lot less weed, so i need to adapt a bit.
But first i hope that at least two of each strain germinate. We'll see! But i'm happy to finally start the outdoor season and i'm looking forward for this run! Hope the weather gods are with us!
If you are still reading, thank you so much for doing so and for checking in and hanging out! If you got own experiences with one of the strains or have general good advice lemme know. I love to learn from you! Have a wonderful week with some nice homegrown weed and happy growing 🌱🌞🍀 Much love
@Mr_und_Ms_Lue_Roots, Thank you very much guys! Wellmy wife is the balcony chiefgardener in charge and i'm lucky that i got a dedicated spot to raise my plants 😜😁
@RasendeRollo92, Thank you buddy! Outdoor season is always so much fun! I really hope there will be a gassy pheno! Gas for me and fruits for the misses😁
@Dr1delaplante, Yeah it also took me a bit to run a THC/CBD strain because i feared that it'll be not "strong enough" to make me high properly. But since i switched to vaping i use a lot less material and my stash is still well filled. So i thought this is the perfect time for giving it a try!
