Week 11, concluding the eleventh week of vegetating:
Hi(gh) Guys,
Hoi. On 6 June it was time to adjust the height of some branches, by pulling them back using a piece of wool thread and tying them to their main-stem. Not every plant required that, luckily this strain grows fairly even. Up until now Iβd always have one or two plants below average, and experience learns me that good initial growers also deliver accordingly, so thatβs a good sign! Kudos for Royal Queen Seeds!
Also, the lower branches. First I want to share some findings, this will only apply to the next grow. Iβd already read somewhere that the lower branches seem to stay very thin, so you should better lose them and use the upper ones. So Iβd though, the lobe-leaves donβt count anyway, the first set of single serrated leaves rarely springs branches and thereby considered futile also, then the first set of triple serrated leaves springs branches to trim and toss. Then, I thought the first set of leaves with 5 fingers would be the proper ones? I think Iβm going to lose them also next time. Only thing is it will add more veg-time. When you apply the pony-tailing, the branches who are too thin wonβt grow fast enough to get on level with the rest. That moment went better last time, with the Bruce Banners.
For now it meant for the Honey Creamβs that Iβd cut most of the lower branches. Only a few where able to grow enough within those 5 days to keep. For now this is fine, as you can see on the pictures the tent is full, and it looks great! Stretching is almost done, ready to deliver on those tasty buds ;-p
Iβm looking forward to see you back and check on the Honey Creamβs progress next week!
;-) Grtz, Budcrack ;-)
@James, what do you think, do the Honey Cream's continue growing bud, and then start smelling strong late in the cycle? Seems that the bud is still growing after 4 weeks of flowering. Grtz, Budcrack ;-)
@Satori_Hanso, thanks! Yeah, this is my best round ever, and the quality is also there. The bud is perfectly looking, feeling and smelling, now if it tastes and works great, than it's a winner! I guess that will be perfect too! Lucky me..π
@Satori_Hanso, What makes it difficult to awnser is because the Moonwalkers have such a strong smell. The Honey's are a strain like no other i'd had before, and it really cuts the normal cycle with 4 weeks, so the smell is developing late to begin with. But i'd notice that the smell is much more nuanced than the skunky moonwalkers. It really has a caramel like smell, and a good amount of the pheno's have a strong smell if you come close enough. I expect the smell to become strong this week. We'll see! ;-)
@ReinDeer, thanks, after this diary i'm going to explain only the changes i'm making to my M.O. but this diary is now the baseline. Take your advantage from it and thanks!
