The leaves are growing VERY skinny, not just the top but it seems all the new growths coming up. What can this be? All I've been able to find matches excessive nitrogen but I don't think it's that because the rest of the plant though not yellow (my camera deceives) looks like it could definitely use a bit *more* nitrogen to make her nice and lushish green. Don't know what else could be causing this though. Plant is indica dominant and all the leaves until now are nice and fat. This problem seems to have started on or around the time I FIMed (and fucked that up* so I topped it a few days later). *Didn't FIM enough, as you can see the leaves grew out with just a bit of a flat buzz cut, so topped it a few days later.

How to deal with white mold? Using folliar spray tap water + 1tbps/g Baking Soda + few drops of dish soap. Was there right from start, don't know how to prevent it either.

You can pretty well prevent it in decent waterings . At this point of grow you dont have to have any fear of mold. Mold appeares if its to wet( soil) or if in late flower the air is to humid.Or if you cover the layer of te soil with foil or platic. Keeping a good airflow , watch the waterings . and you wont have any problem with mold.

This plant is an emergency transplant from extreme stress. It's sitting in topsoil, but all my nutrients are for coco. Again it was an emergency and the only thing I had was topsoil. I *expect* it will probably hermie which is why this plant is going to be going outside as soon as the weather is good enough and if it doesn't hermie I will just be using it to take clones. It was sitting under 2 CFLs and doing pretty bad, when I put it under this 240W LED it perked up FAST. I do not know why I constantly hear about pH being off. Perhaps that is something people routinely do? I do not, I pH everything I give plants or use (this comes from my being a Chemist I suppose). This was her first feeding of relatively full strength nutes (EC 1.1) because like I said it was in topsoil I have not gone full bore putting coco nutrients into topsoil. Also the first week and a half it was being given almost no fertilizer because it was struggling. I will continue to move up in nutrient but imo it's better to give your plant less food and then learn to give it more on the next feeding then to burn your plant with too many nutes. I do not know what the correct pouring method is, I pour along the outside of the pot while I turn it around (I do not pour water directly in the middle). I'm not sure how you can say it looks 'far from healthy', its nice and green, it's growing fast now and the only thing I can see is a small amount of drooping which may have to do with letting it dry out a lot before I watered it again (which I will always do). I appreciate the advice and please give me all the advice you've got. I am just confused you can tell me my pH is off (when we've never spoken) or how you can say its far from healthy. Maybe my camera doesn't pick up greens very well, but it looks great to me for being a shocked plant being fed coco nutrients in topsoil.

@methylenedream - hi there. Stumbled upon your journal as I saw a familiar strain. I grew CK from BF last year and all I have to say is... 👌 Regarding your thin leaves. If it were my garden, I’d be getting them into a bigger pot ASAP. I bet her legs are cramped and she’s losing O2 at her roots. I bet if you tip her out she’s likely got a pure white bottom. That, and she wants more space. I’d do a transplant and a feeding at a higher pH then listed for this week to ensure proper uptake. I like to swing mine between 6.2-6.8 to ensure I get the gambit. In fairness you might already be doing so, as I didn’t get through the entire diary, but figured I’d drop my 2 pennies in the jar. Good luck, I hope (and suspect) she will recover.

@Methylenedream, awesome. Give em a few days and they should get back to it. 👍

Leave led for veg stage . Real 100 w its more than you need for seedlings, clones or first 3-4 weeks of veg. You bombard your girl with nutes , but she looks far from healthy ... Not correct water ph, wrong pouring rythm or she is beast and will eat like a bucket of nutes ;))) Good luck !

Growing along slowly. I expect slow growth though I am just impressed it bounced back at all. Still would like to see it growing faster though. It hasn't needed to be re watered yet (likely because I planted it in a pot a bit larger then the beer cups I would have liked to have had at the time (but didn't), this transplant from rapid rooter cubes was kind of an emergency. I think i've got the mold problem under control but I won't know for sure for the next few days. There is a whitish film on the edge of some leaves, before panicking though I think that might have just been from the folliar anti-mold spray Ive used. I have changed lights this week as well. Turns out I should have done much better research before buying an LED light and that 600W does not mean 600W at all (rather 108W in my case), so this LED is far too weak for my grow space (or any grow space > 1sqft). It is now being lit with a 400W metal halide lamp (that I have had from a prior grow). Lesson learned, do your research dummy (me). Anyone want to buy a cheap '600W' LED?

@Methylenedream, shes stretching more than my two week old afghan kush, my 150-actual-watt blurpie is about 30cm/11inch from the plant. theres stuff to learn every day, i feel :) ill be looking forward to following your grow, mister :) best of luck to you!

Not my first grow (but thanks for the compliments anyways). I am by no means a professional or have it down pat yet but growing in general I can pull it off. Any advice is good advice though so keep it coming, I appreciate it all. Yeah I didn't think I would have issues using coco nutes in soil which is why I've done it but it's still an experiment I have no idea what results to expect. She does need to be transplanted soon which will either be to 5 gallon fabric pots that I have or she may go outside when the weather is stable/nice enough because she had a very stressful beginning and I don't want her to hermie under my trellis net. Maybe I'm a bit too paranoid, I don't really know all the factors that can lead to a plant hermie ing . Like if it was stressed at birth but then has been growing great since then should I worry? I fucked up the FIM in that I don't think I cut enough off, not too sure I've always just topped, which I did to this plant after the new growth started coming out as if it hadn't been FIMed (leaves are just trimmed). Really need to start training it but it's grown very short and bushy as it is which I'm grateful for because my grow space isn't very high.

I wanted to try using rapid rooter cubes this time (I usually use rockwool cubes). They were soaked in pH 5.9 RO water w/ 2.5mL/L Rhizotonic. They dried out SOOO fast (< 6 hours, I can't even get a night sleep?) that I pretty much have concluded this set of seeds a lost cause. For one thing they are very old seeds (more then 5 years), but also the cubes were so dry that they could not be re-moistened. I decided to repot this one and just see how it goes, but I don't have big hopes. In order to transplant this one I literally had to pick pieces of dried rapid rooter cube off its taproot to replant it. This has been replanted in topsoil (I usually grow in coco coir and my grow was setup to use coco but this was kind of an emergency situation and topsoil is all I had at that moment). I hope that once it gets warm enough outside and when/if it gets large enough to just put it outside and see how it goes (I don't want to risk this highly stressed plant turning hermie on me under a scrog net). It does seem to be growing slowly but I guess I am just happy that it bounced back from its shock at all. Fed it pH 5.9 RO water w/ 2.5mL/L Rhizotonic and 1/10 strength Coco A/B (not sure which macro/micro nutrients the topsoil might be missing so I wanted to give it a tiny bit of fertilizers just to make sure it has everything. This feed has EC 0.3 mS/cm2 (~ 150ppm). I believe the top of this soil has been uh 'infected' with white mold/mildew (you can tell pretty clearly from day 6 on) so I carefully removed the top layer of soil, and sprayed my grown room and the plant down with a solution of tapwater w/ 1tbsp/gallon Baking soda and a few drops of dish soap. I still don't know what can be causing it though, other then maybe not having the ventilation running in my grow tent for the first few days (now its on 24/7 a small 4" inline intake fan and a larger more powerful 4" inline exhaust, there is negative pressure in the tent).
