Lowbuds Hey everyone, starting my Black Opium Auto grow for the Divine Seeds 2025 Global Autoflowering Competition!
I’m running her in a 22L pot that I repurposed — it was originally meant for an outdoor run but now it’s coming indoors. Since my main grow tent is already busy, I’m using a cheap eBay lamp setup as a kind of budget side project.
For germination, I’m using the classic paper towel method, spraying the towel with water mixed with a bit of H₂O₂ to help boost germination and keep things clean. Once sprouted, she’ll go into soil reused from a previous run, boosted with worm humus, Root Complex, and Power Zyme — aiming for a healthy root zone without breaking the bank.
I’ll be doing full-on low-stress training (LST) to spread out the canopy and get the best light coverage possible.
I’m really curious about this strain — excited to see how she performs in my setup.
What I’m aiming for:
• Keep it simple and affordable with a decent pot size
• See how 22L does in a budget custom space with minimal fuss
Germination is underway — updates coming soon with pics of the first sprouts and soil prep!
Big thanks to Divine Seeds for sponsoring this grow with free seeds — much appreciated! 💚💚💚

Lowbuds Day 1: She’s Up 🌱 | Black Opium Auto
We have liftoff!
The seed cracked after 2–3 days in the paper towel — fast and clean germ, as usual when starting on a full moon 🌕.
I planted her into the 22L pot with amended soil (worm humus, Root Complex, Power Zyme), and she broke through the surface yesterday. Today she’s standing at around 1 cm tall, looking strong and healthy so far.
Under the cheap eBay LED now, in my budget custom space. Nothing fancy — just trying to keep temps stable and light distance gentle for the first days.
Looking forward to seeing how she builds roots over the next week before starting any LST.
