UnorthadoxDude Hello growmies and welcome to my latest diary, I am really exicted for this one, which will be something a bit different.
We will be starting these girls off in the tent, but then moving them out into the new greenhouse and planting them straight into the prepared ground.
The genetics selected are Gubblebum Auto by St Aubin's Genetics based out of Michigan, USA. Mike at St Aubin's very kindly sent me some of his genetics to try out, and I am very grateful to him for that. If you want some yourself check out his official website at https://www.staubingenetics.com/ all his beans are for 12 and you can choose feminized or regular. He also does awesome value mystery pack. He is sure making a buzz on the X cannbis community.
Speaking of X, if you don't already follow me over there, I've love to link up with you. I refollow accounts posting original grow content.
The nutrition for this grow is as yet undecided.

UnorthadoxDude Welcome to week one, this will be a greenhouse grow but for now this one is being started in a small pot of coco, after popping in paper towel.
I will update throughout the week so check back later for more.
Day 1 - Welcome to the world little Butterfly!
Day 3 - Butterfly isl stretching. Not a huge amount I can currently do about that.
Day 6 - Have raised up a little, hoping to relieve the stretch. She is leggy so I have had to add supports. When I plant her into the ground I will plant her a bit deeper to resolve this issue.
Day 7 - Fertigated 0.33l

UnorthadoxDude Week five! Butterfly is still inside! I will be putting her outside soon.
Butterfly is moving rapidly into flower, I stressed her into flowering early I think.
Day 28 Photographed.
Update: Greenhouse is built!! Will be moving Butterfly out tomorrow.
Day 32 - Planted out into the greenhouse and fertigated 5l.
After attempting to prepare the ground for transplant, I discovered that it was compacted, dry, and full of tree roots - very hard to work and very poor quality. The time to prepare the soil, and the cost of the amendments I would need have forced my hand somewhat and I have had to improvise. So let me present to you my hybrid growing strategy for this plant: coco-in-ground.
I've dug a big 50l (13.2 gal) hole and filled it with Canna Professional Plus Coco Coir mixed with 20% horticultural perlite. I will continue to feed coco nutrients as if the plant was simply in a 50l pot. However if she wants to root herself into the ground also? That's her business.
By now you guys following me should expect things like this, you know I love to experiment.

Day 36 - Photographed and fertigated 5l each.
Day 38 - Photographed. I do feel it was my fault stunting this girl, but she will stay the size she is now.

UnorthadoxDude Week seven! Butterfly is still chugging along but she is not going to get any bigger - she will just continue developing into flower and remain a small wee plant. Smells nice though!
In retrospect I regret digging such a big hole and using so much coco for this plant. However it will not go to waste as I reuse my coco-coir multiple times.
