MOBY DICK - ESQUEJES- DWC

MakFaso2022 1st Week: I cut the cuttings from the Moby 1 and put them in a jar with chlorine-free water left to sit outdoors in a container overnight... The next day, I put them in Aloe Vera, which is an excellent Natural Rooting Agent for a few hours, not too long this time. I'm trying Root Shields to help the roots grow strong and healthy, and you can see the good condition from the first days you use it—healthy white roots. I also use the Kawsay Nutrients line: Silica, Veg, AyB, and I have Bloom as well. My idea for these cuttings is to choose one to keep vegetating or use it as a mother plant, and then after taking a bunch of cuttings, put the Moby 1 mother outside to flower. Stay tuned...😄

MakFaso2022 Moby 1-1= first cutting of the Moby 1 is healthy, to be honest I was going to take another one to plant in soil but the other rooted much more and better even though this one was the first to sprout roots in the water. This is the one on the left, the one in the middle with the double branch hasn't rooted yet. Something I didn't mention is the fish tank heater that keeps the temperature just right since it's very cold where I live and the water gets freezing if you don't use it. I ended up transferring it to almost 1L in light soil and another that was in jiffy but didn't progress much, I put it in the water and it started to root but the leaves look really ugly so I put it in a small pot to see if it takes off too. There are 3 left, the best one and two others that I hope go well...

MakFaso2022 Well, just a quick update to post another week besides this one. The first cutting of the Moby 1 has a massive stem for its size, but of course, it was a branch. I don't cut the cuttings too big, so the stem is looking pretty good. The reddish color isn't a deficiency; it's just how it is, unlike the Moby 2, which is greener. 🏽‍♂️

MakFaso2022 Well, this week I'm still taking care of and applying rooting hormone and top veg to the first cutting that I transferred from hydro to soil, about 1L. I cut a new batch of cuttings from Moby 1 and 2, then I put Moby 1 on a 12-12 schedule outside at night; it's covered, but I'm already activating the cuttings outside.

MakFaso2022 Cuttings of Moby 1 and 2: When using the TDS meter, I found that it had almost 1.1 EC, which is a lot for cuttings that I had put in just a few days ago, so I changed the solution and cleaned everything. I give it a 7 out of 10, to be honest, since I don’t have much time, I can’t focus on that 100%, but I try to do it as often as I can. I'm using tap water that I've let sit for at least one night, and it ended up at 400 ppm and a pH of 5.5. Several are rooting, so their parameters are more or less optimal, and the crystal meth started to sprout a new root; it was a bit sluggish. The Moby 2.0: the cutting that has the biggest and thickest roots, I now put it alone in about 6L with its new air pump and aquarium heater, and I removed old and bad leaves, and it’s doing well. You can see that the beautiful cutting is growing!

MakFaso2022 After almost 13 days, I’m updating the cutting diary: vigorous growth and quick recovery after transplanting. Moby 1-1 is outside during the sunny days and in the indoor setup in the afternoon since the temperature is dropping quite a bit. We're at a day with highs of 5° and at night it goes down to -0. We’ve gone from autumn to winter, and it’s starting to be felt! Transplanted 2 new cuttings that are already rooted in the hydro cutting tray. They’re almost half a liter, the Moby 1-3 and Moby 1-4.

MakFaso2022 Well, I did the transplant of the cuttings I had in hydro to cups with light nutrient soil. I have several, actually, from Moby 1 and 2. I separated the two that were together, and they turned out pretty well. The ones that had yellow leaves took little time to recover. I plan to leave the auto alone in the hydro and the Moby 2.0 cutting.

MakFaso2022 Moby 2.0: well, this Moby is the daughter of Moby 1, one of the best phenotypes that came from the mother. The truth is that even though I have buckets for containers and not the best meters, I was able to keep her well-fed and improve the color and vigor of the roots. I did apical cuts on all her branches because I plan to flower her in a few days. That's a detail I'm noticing, but I'll owe you that for next time. The stem is really nice for the size; it was just a little branch cut not too long ago.

MakFaso2022 Transplanting cuttings, the 3 that are together, transplanted with recycled soil because they needed it and I didn't have money to buy new soil, and besides, due to the dates, I decided to make them flower before spring to have some harvest since it gets quite expensive in those months for G colo, haha. For the 2.0 in hydroponics, which is the only one I have left in that system, I did a pruning and soon I'll switch it to 12/12; it would be the only one left in the tent in that system.

MakFaso2022 Moby 2.0: The one that earned its place to flower in hydro, the only one of all its siblings, received a change of solution and went to 12/12. I had done some defoliation, so it was already prepared for pre-flowering... Trillisos Peones: There are 3 cuttings that I transplanted with recycled soil since I didn't have money to buy, as I mentioned last week. Then I added a bit of new substrate on top. There's one that stands out and is more advanced. It's worth noting that they had been around for a while, and due to their age, they were already starting to create flowers in their little pots, so I decided to urgently change them and put them into flowering to increase the final product...

MakFaso2022 Moby'S 3: The three cuttings I put to flower are already fattening their buds, they're in about 3 liters with recycled soil and a bit of new substrate on top from when I bought it. They were already flowering when I transplanted them, and they continued flowering almost without delay, especially one that is doing the best and will surely give me good flowers with little substrate; you can still see the good genetics. Moby 2.0: This Moby in hydro is really thriving; its hairs are growing everywhere. If everything goes well, it’s going to have a very good yield. I need to see if I should put it in a bigger bucket or do some root pruning, whatever stresses it the least. The thing is, I have little fertilizer left, haha, base B, but I’m going to have to renew it one way or another. It transitioned very well from veg to flower and is continuing its course with its green leaves; it still looks healthy. I'm going to do another pruning so that more light penetrates since I didn't do SCROG this time. The little cups I transplanted had been in cups for a long time; they had flowered, but I'm vegetating them again with more room for roots and new substrate, so I always have a player available. 😜
