KannaKoom Hey all,
Just an intro to myself, I would say I'm fairly new to growing. This will be my second grow and I'm super excited to get this going! Not too long ago, I harvested my first 2 autoflower plants and they are currently in the curing process. I ended up getting 2 ounces off of one and 1 ounce off of the other. I learned a lot from my first grow and one of the main points I got was to not overreact. I plan on applying what I learned to this grow and cannot wait. I was originally going to wait until the end of July to start again but after trimming and jarring my first grow, I had the itch the very next day to plant a new seed.
This time around, I am only planting one seed. This is due to the fact that my grow light, at the moment, is only 150W and my tent is only 2.7ftx2.7ft. While I felt my light and tent held up okay with 2 plants, I feel I had potential to yield better results all around with one plant.
The medium I am using is Bush Doctor Coco Loco in a 5 gal. pot mixed with 15 tbsp of Gaia Green All Purpose 4-4-4. For the seedling stage, I have currently have the light on a 24 hour schedule at 300ppfd, 24 inches above the soil. I placed a humidity dome over the seed location to add temp and humidity and have been spraying the soil with a spray bottle when the top layer is looking dry.
Conditions of the tent: 72f degrees average, 75% humidity average

KannaKoom I noticed around midnight 6/7 that she started to poke out of the ground, by the time I opened my tent at 11am 6/8, she had grown out of the soil and her first leaves unfolded. I kept the humidity dome over it for the first day and removed it the second day to give the seedling a bit more light.
For the first week, until she is out of the seedling stage, I am running a 24 hour light schedule. I brought the light down to 20 inches above the plant and bumped it up to 325ppfd. My reasoning behind this is due to the fact that I feel my previous grow did not get enough light in this vital stage of growth and it put the plants behind by a week or two. In addition, according to Fast Buds, these plants benefit from high intensity lighting. One week from sprout and I am already seeing great growth compared to my last grow.
Final thoughts on the first week: Overall, I feel that I am on the right track. Growth seems to be 3 days faster than where my previous grow was at around the 7 day mark and she is already forming her 2nd node of true leaves at a rapid rate. I did end up bumping up the PPFD to 350 around day 5 leaving the lamp distance to plant the same as before at 20 inches. She seems to be responding well to this, not showing any signs of stress. For the second week, I plan to switch to the vegetive stage, once the second set of true leaves develops a bit more. This will entail switching the light spectrum to better suite the vegetative stage, and changing the light schedule from 24hrs to 20/4. My previous grow's light schedule was at 18/6 and while I saw good results from this, I'd like to see if there are any benefits to a 20/4 light schedule.

KannaKoom 6/17: I am keeping things as is for the time being. The light is 20 inches from the plant at 350 PPFD on a 24 hour light schedule. Growth seems to be constant and picking up steam with tighter inter-nodal spacing at these settings. I plan to switch from the seedling light spectrum to a vegetative light spectrum once the second set of true leaves gets a bit more of its form. I will also change the light schedule from 24hr to 20/4.
6/19: Today marks the first day of the 20/4 light schedule using a vegetative light spectrum. All other conditions are the same. I'm still only spraying the soil once a day but feel by next week, I can up the feeding with a little calmag. We will see!
6/22: End of week two and things are looking great. I'm still a newb but I can see improvement in my strategy this grow. The plant is growing nicely and seems to be on a good pace. 6/21, I added in some calmag and upped the feeding amount. I also bumped my lighting up a bit too. I saw quick results as seen in the timelapse that day, as the leaves started to pray up. As of Sunday, all is well and so far this grow is exceeding my expectations!

KannaKoom 6/24: Things are looking good! Haven't really changed much, but I did bring the light a little closer to the plant and I brought humidity down to 70%. The bud sites are growing very quickly. Hoping to be able to start some LST by the end of the week.
6/26: Loving the growth still! Keeping things as is still, as I am liking the results so far and don't think she would benefit from any adjustments. The 4th node has dropped nicely and 5th is coming along fast! Also, I planted four mystery seeds I received from a friend and three of the four popped today! We plan on trying our hand at a little outdoor growing with these. Nothing like a little experimenting, right?
6/29: All is looking well. I did remove the lowermost node, as well as start some LST on the second node. LST is something new to me an an opportunity i was not afforded with the slow growth and early flower of my last grow. I'm excited to see what different it will make. I plan to do the same on the 3rd node as well in the coming week. It's been fun watching this plant grow!

KannaKoom 7/1: This plant has been extremely fun to watch do its thing over the last few weeks. Those little mistakes I made or neglected in my first grow have significantly helped me get off on the right foot this time around. Not to mention, I feel that the plant/genetics is fairly low maintenance.
As I mentioned at the end of last week's entry, I started a little LST on the lower most node. Today, I have added landscaping staples to the second lowest node to allow it to stretch out and get more light from under the quickly growing top canopy.
In addition to starting LST on the second lowest node, I did bring the light down to 16 inches above canopy at 60% power. This gives me a PPFD reading of roughly 750, which could be inaccurate due to using the phone app, but it still gives me a good idea of how much I should bump light power up each time.
7/3: Today was a big day for the Mrs. Gorilla Cookie. I decided it was time to add in a bit more soil as well as some amendments. I added 3tbsp of Gaia Green Power Bloom 2-8-4 and 1tbsp Gaia Green All Purpose 4-4-4. I then reapplied the landscaping staples to continue LST.
The plants seem to be responding well to the light increase that I applied on 7/1. At the time, I was worried it would be too much, but the plant is really soaking it up and praying toward the light. I may increase the light a bit more at the end of the week.
In addition, I plan to try out a self watering base toward the end of the week. I will going out of town soon for the remainder of July and need to test the base before I leave. I do have buddies that will help, but I would like things to be as easy as possible for them. I also hear great things on these self watering bases and if it works out will, I will definitely incorporate them into future grows.
7/6: The end of week 4 has come and this plant is really starting to kick into high gear. I do think adding in the bloom amendments really helped. Great, speedy growth, and looking green and healthy. Pistils have started to form and she's definitely starting to get a little stank. The lights are still at 60% but due to the constant growth the canopy raised causing the light to be 12 inches close and PPFD up to 950. I did notice a tiny bit of tacoing so I lifted the light a couple inches. I am now trying to keep them at a constant 14 inches above the canopy with a PPFD of around 850. I will likely hold off on adjusting the brightness for another few days, as I am liking the results I'm seeing.
I started the plant on her self-watering base yesterday when I would have usually given it a feeding. Its only been a day, so its too soon to tell just how well its working, but the soil seems to be at a perfect moisture at all times. I did feed a little from the top today to help some of the nutrients that may still be at the top work its way into the pot.
Overall, solid week. This grow is already shaping up to exceed my expectations and I feel pretty good about making it through the Veg stage in one piece. On to the flowering stage!

KannaKoom 7/8: I think I can safely say we are at the first week of flower. Pistils are shooting out everywhere and while bud sites aren't necessarily forming yet, I believe by the end of week we will start to see some. The growth is tremendous and the lower nodes are starting to pull through to the top of the canopy.
I did start the plants on a flowering light spectrum yesterday. I believe this redder light spectrum, mixed with the quick growth of the plant causing it to get too close to the light before I have time to adjust, has caused the slightest light burn on the tips of a few leaves at the top of the canopy this morning. I kept the light intensity the same but backed it off a few inches to 16 inches above the canopy.
Now, on to what I've really been itching to give an update on: the self watering base. So, this thing is actually great! We are only about 4 days into implementing it, but results are being noticed in so many ways. I filled it with about 3/4 gallon of water with calmag on Saturday and the base is almost ready to be filled again. The soil seems to be at a constant perfect moisture level, not too wet and not too dry. The soil pH seems to be holding strong at about 5.8-6. As I've already said, we are only 4 days into using these bases, but I am seriously very happy with how it's performing so far and will likely implement this in all of my future grows. While I do enjoy the little things that go into the growing process, like watering, it is super nice to not have to worry about keeping them to a consistent feeding schedule and worrying about whether I gave them the proper amount. With these bases, I can basically leave it up to the plant how much water it wants and I like that.
7/10: All is well. Bumped up the lighting to 70% at about 15 inches above the canopy today. I'm monitoring her closely to see how she takes.
This will be my last update before my trip, but I will still be updating as we go. My buddy will be helping me out while I'm gone just by filling the humidifier and watering base, and also snapping some pics of her to keep whoever is looking at this updated. Thank god for technology and superb genetics or I would be quite worried being hundreds of miles away from home for longer than a weekend. Being able to monitor and control everything in my tent on my phone via the Vivosun app is just amazing in and of itself. Not to mention, Fast Buds coming in with insane genetics. I'm a new grower but god damn, if this plant isn't growing itself. Its that same feeling when you can start to trust your dog outside of the crate while your gone. I may be gone a while, but I can trust Ms. Cookies to take care of herself while I'm gone (UNASHAMED FREE PLUG). Can't wait to open the tent up next week to see the progress!
