RDWC - Super Boof Auto + Z-Up Auto

High_And_Hydro They've handled the first few days well and they look great. There's nothing else for me to do except change the nutrient solution once a week. The values of the nutrient solution have been absolutely stable so far, and the temperature and humidity are also looking good.

High_And_Hydro It's going well, so far without any further incidents, but we have a 2-day heatwave coming up. I'm cooling the reservoir down a bit with frozen 0.5L PET bottles, and I will just change the nutrient solution again afterward. That's a huge advantage compared to a large system, that I can quickly and cheaply change the maximum fill amount of just 20L.

High_And_Hydro They are growing great and doing fantastic. I didn't do much this week. I changed the nutrient solution once and on the hot days, I put a frozen 0.5L water bottle in the reservoir twice a day. I placed the top feed to the side in the bucket so it doesn't splash the net pot anymore. The distance from the water surface to the net pot is currently about two fingers wide.

High_And_Hydro I had to do a bit of pruning today since the leaves were getting in each other's way. I took off as little as possible, but I think I'll have to do this more often in the coming days. I heavily defoliated the Super Boof Auto again yesterday since the leaves were pinching each other and there was condensation everywhere between the leaves. A day later, you can hardly see any of that. It looks a bit like it hasn't grown, but that's misleading. On the other hand, the Z-Up has nearly perfect internodes, so the leaves and individual shoots barely interfere, yet it still grows super compact. It also looks extremely healthy and vibrant. The leaves look like something out of a storybook, just like the roots. They're now getting around 850 µmol/s/m² in an 18/6 cycle, which corresponds to a DLI of 55 mol/d/m². Autos in RDWC are awesome 💪😂👍

High_And_Hydro They are doing excellently. They are growing unstoppable and the roots are nice and bright. Today we have a pretty high humidity level at 70%+, which makes the VPD under 0.8 kPa. I would say that's quite low, but they are handling it calmly. I often have to defoliate the Super Boof Auto, otherwise it would suffocate itself. The Z-Up only needs the bare minimum of defoliation, as it just manages to not block itself on its own. Visually, I really like it so far.

High_And_Hydro Tag 42: Those two are really taking off, and I'm impressed with how long they've been in veg. Tonight, I'm going to do some serious defoliation; it's about time, as you can see. 👽👽 Tag 43: One day after defoliation, they already look fit again. 😁👍 Tag 44: I've switched to bloom nutrient solution today. Also, the Z-Up was defoliated a second time since I was a bit too cautious during the first round. It recovered very quickly and looks fit again the next day. Tag 47: I defoliated the Super Boof Auto again the day before yesterday and bent it a bit, but you can't see any of that today. Also, the two have filled their space by now. They look absolutely fantastic, and I'm very satisfied.

High_And_Hydro It's going well and I'm satisfied. They're growing quite evenly, even though they're different strains. Actually, according to the manufacturer's specifications, the Super Boof should be the bigger one, but they've both turned out nice and tall, so I won't complain. I'm defoliating every 3-4 days at the moment, and I'm doing it pretty well now, but they're also growing back in record time. They're currently getting about 1000 µmol/s/m² for 18 hours, and I feel like they could handle even more. Day 53: I got the parts for the larger returns today and installed them. Unfortunately, I hadn't ordered any clamps and only realized that after I had already drilled the holes. I was hoping it would still be sealed, but nope, it wasn't. Quite a bit leaked out after I moved a bucket for a moment. So they had to spend 24 hours in their transition buckets until the clamps arrived.

High_And_Hydro I wanted to install larger returns last week, and it didn't go quite smoothly; the video about it will be on YouTube starting tomorrow. 😅 In the end, I managed to get it done, and now I have 50mm returns instead of 15mm. This way, I can circulate the nutrient solution faster and I'm a bit better protected against clogs. Before, even one clay pebble caused problems. I'm finally rid of the leaks from the old fittings that have been bothering me for so long. Still, I got myself a wet/dry vacuum, which really helps with small leaks and when emptying the buckets. 💪😄👍 Otherwise, I started giving PK 13/14 this week. I want to follow the manufacturer's recommendation this time and give the recommended strong dose for a maximum of one week. Day 62: It's been super warm in the last few days, so I always have 25°C+ in the reservoir, but so far that doesn't seem to be a problem. The tent temperature is around 30°C, and the humidity can only be managed with a dehumidifier, which adds extra heat.

High_And_Hydro Today I defoliated again and removed a few small shoots to get some air into the Super Boof. The temperatures have dropped a bit again, so I have normal conditions in the tent again. The Super Boof has a very strong smell of soap with a hint of lemon, while the Z-Up smells a bit less intense, more like fresh lime.

High_And_Hydro Not much is happening this week, I'm just waiting for the end. They are now a bit past the breeder's estimate in terms of time, but that can happen. The Super Boof will probably be ready for harvest in the next few days, I think. The Z-Up will need a few more days, it doesn't have any brown stigmas or other signs of senescence yet.

High_And_Hydro Some trichomes are already clearly amber-colored in the pictures, so I harvested them. I hope they haven't been sitting too long.

High_And_Hydro She had to say goodbye yesterday. I picked out the biggest buds and hand-trimmed them while I ran everything from the B-bud and below through the bowl trimmer. It also sorts out the popcorn right away, but the quality of the trim suffers a bit because of that. But I'm satisfied with the yield; there's enough to try out, and it already smells really delicious.
