UnorthadoxDude Hello! This is a weird one, not a plant, but fungi! This diary is for the short fruiting of a Lions Mane Mushroom Grow Kit from The Lockdown Garden. It came already grown mycelium ready to fruit.
I cut three holes in the bag and kept it moist. I am using the shower cubicle as a makeshifit fruiting chamber, there is a window in the room so the shrooms get daylight but not direct light.
This is my first time fruiting any kind of fungi.

Fried lion's mane tastes like fried halloumi cheese.
There may be a 2nd and possibly 3rd) flush - if so I will update diary again.

UnorthadoxDude Well to be fair this harvest crept up on me, the strucutre of my mushrooms wasn't the same as I was seeing online so it was not as easy to judge.
Anyway, not a bad start, however with a yield like this it would not be commercially viable to grow these.
Second flush harvested on day 35. 126g

Oh how fun. I grew oyster and lions mane mushrooms a few years ago. Ate the oysters and made tincture from lions mane. 💚🍄💫

@Natrona, that is true but the temp and humidity is all wrong in my canna tent.
Lions mane needs like 85%+ rh for fruiting, and the max temp is 25c ideally. My tent is always above that.

Also had a grow kit of lion mane 4 years ago but without any luck. Since start of this year I am planing to convert my basement in a little gourmet mushroom growing room😁
Still at the planing stage because of finances and health😅

does it smell?
i must really say i dont even like regular mushrooms to eat. this gives me a weird feeling just to look at it. some might feel the same for spiders, for me it's mushrooms they are somehow really creepy to me
