Greenthumbplumb Trying to figure out a good balance for temp and humidity, my basement stays steady 65F all year but humidity is close to 60% right now.

Week 2 Is the humidity too high at 80-90%? I can't tell if these leaves are curling weird or just slow growing. Any thoughts would be appreciated.

yes, 80-90% is too high. constantly wet medium could be contributing too. This is why you want pots appropriately sized for a plant. it makes irrigation process easier. if the pot is too large you can't water normally.. you have to try to water a small column around the plant and all the way down -- superficial watering trains superficial roots and you don't want that.. it's important it gets wet all the way down for a healthy drying patterns. roots turn toward greater moisture.. you don't want the surface wetter than the interior. also, tough to know when it actually needs an irrigation if the top portion is always the wettest zone due to improper watering habits. Read up on vapor pressure deficit (VPD). use appropriately sized pots. Despite broscience repetition, potting up should never shock a plant. If you are shocking plants will doing a simple pot-up, then you should look for a new hobby. (generalized comment, not just for you)

At 80–90% humidity in Week 2, that’s too high and could be the reason you’re seeing strange leaf curling or slow growth. High humidity at this stage can interfere with the plant’s ability to transpire properly, which may cause leaves to curl, droop, or appear slightly twisted. It also creates an environment where mold, mildew, and other pathogens thrive, especially if airflow is limited. Ideally, during Week 2 of veg, you want your humidity in the 55–70% range, and if you're in early flower, even lower—around 45–60% is safer. Try increasing airflow and gradually lowering the humidity over the next few days to reduce stress on the plant. If the leaves don’t perk up within a few days of adjusting your environment, it might be worth double-checking your light intensity and root health as well.

80-90% RH is high. if you can do anything to lower it that would be ideal. like increasing airflow? but if its all you got, then the plant will do its best.
