JimmyGreenyah did not have anything to transplant to went to the local arbourtorem and noted union employees wasting soil and nutrients by dumping large amounts of unwanted flowers directly into the dump instead of compost I removed 28 qt containers and obtained a vessel to transport the soil . started to attempt to sprout them under a 40 watt Cfl and yesterday lodged some shelving into a south facing window

Save up some money and buy LED. Cheaper to operate, less heat, replace less often. they are cheaper to own by any common sense measure. Stick to 2.7-2.9umol/J effiacy ... many manufacturers lie about these ratings. compare to specs at diode's original manufacturer, i.e. bridgelux or samsong.com etc, and you can tell who is lying through their teeth. If there is an LED out there with 3.0 umol/J, it's probably a very cool (favor B too much) CCT that you don't want anyway. unless you live somewhere cold, the reduced heat is a bonus, too. very easy to size lights up to space... if you grow photoperiods, you want ~80umol/s per sq ft based on total umol/s produced by light. If you only grow autoflowers on an 18h cycle, you want 67% of that. Easy peasy multiplication. 16 sq ft? you want a light producing roughly 1280umol/s ... fwiw if you find the 'perfect' light and it's 1250, close enough! This number is not an enxact value and is relative to local variables, so YMMV a bit. It is a good ballpark to start. Should err slightly on high side, if i recall. Think it is "861 ppfd" target for 12h photoperiod needs.

if u wanna pay 10 times more for electricity then be my guest ) or u can buy a good board with latest leds (it won't be cheap for sure, but in 5-10 years of exploitation it'll be cheaper then 1st option)

JimmyGreenyah I recently went back to the union dump and obtained all my containers . They appear to be under 1 US gallon so I estimate I need 30 L good soil and 10 L Perlite for the amount of plants . My South window in one room gets the Eastern Sun, and the second room the West sun so I need to move the seedlings once a day and then remove them to put under my only light. They are growing a bit stringy but im hoping they hardy out for a successful transplant. I've set up some plastic on the carpet and hope the Sun does it's work in the long summer days; and came up with a plan B if needed. I touched base and renewed a connection with an awesome person who has some grow lights ( not sure which ones ), and I will make an offer this week to rent them. ( made an offer but it wasn't accepted ) I'm on the search for nutrients and everything else so appreciate your help and will add pictures down the road. Got a message from the Arbouretum for my request to obtain some of their excess soil and was denied and referred to an out of date compost program. Purchased 2.7 litre bags of potting soil from a discount retailer- the perlite is minimal and consists of a mix of humus peat and sand so I made a few 2L ( .5 gl.) containers for transplant and gave 3 healthy seedlings to someone who is growing 3 auto flower Northern Lights i also gifted on a patio. Contacted 34 st seed company about their seeds not germinating and sprouting; have not heard back and send a link to this grow Diary. If any member has any input on this please comment as these seeds were from 2020 and not sure if it was my error . Thanks I have my seedlings on a window ledge still and have had trouble with the internal heat of my dwelling because of very hot summer temps so I arranged a curtain to block out the sun rays from the inside because I have no air conditioner or proper insulation.

JimmyGreenyah Day 21 or so after placing the seeds in water. Took another seeding over to the patio and hope buddy can give them proper care over there; I have access to the patio but don't really like it there too much. The 3 auto flowers are reaching flower period and one has a permanent resident caterpillar who appears to be enjoying the Cannabis Ruderalis very much and I can't seem to remove it from its home. When I transplanted the seedlings into their 2L containers I took a moment to observe what appeared to be thin white roots coming out the bottom. I would like to grow more in small containers and observe the root growth so I get more knowledge. I took a seedling and planted it into a communal planter outside my commune. It has full Sun after noon and is covered by a wall and a large sunflower, so it may have hope to spring up even though these seedlings aren't very strong in the stems and have been stressed. I have 2 seedlings transplanted in their 2L and the rest are in need of transplant I guess even though I do not know much about root bound and the impacts of it, but that is my next stage goal. I've learned much already in that there is much to learn about this , so with this grow I am taking a chill vibe and not stressing about being a professional or expert and just enjoying what I refer to as my little green friends and the therapeutic aspect of caring for them as this is the only thing I really love to do. I won't be adding to the diary for the next little while and attempting to take care of myself and hopefully pursue a small auto flower grow in the future.
