Germination

Tim839 Starting the seedlings indoor before moving them out. I’m starting a bit late, I should have planted those seeds a few weeks or even month before to get a bigger harvest but I was unable to do so. I used strains that should finish quickly to avoid mold and ensure a smooth adventure.

Tim839 After almost a week from putting the seeds into soil the little plants start to show their heads. I had a 100% germination with this method, sometimes simpler is better. They will be transplanted into their final spot in a few days.

Tim839 After a week outside some plants are looking weaker and growth hasn’t been crazy. The sun was kin of hard for young seedlings.

Tim839 2 weeks since they’ve been transplanted in soil. They’re starting to overcome the transplantation for most of them but some plants are showing signs of damping off

Tim839 After 3 weeks outside only 8 of the 12 have survived. 4 of the early Maroc ended up damping off. One of the Northern Light is smaller than the others but doesn’t show signs of damping off, it was probably stunted and is having a harder time recovering. One of the Afghan Kush has been eated (by slugs probably) it will probably survive if not attacked again but will be stunted as most of its leaves have been eated. I plan on putting some traps to avoir further damage but I’ll have to wait until next week.

Tim839 The Afghan Kush #1 grew reaaally quick while the Northern Lights stayed pretty much the same size. The NL #1 was smaller than the other Northern Lights at first but is pretty much the same height now although it looks "skinnier". All the autos are now flowering. The 2 early marocs are still in veg.

Tim839 I switch to bloom fertilizer and I started adding Trikologic which is Trichoderma harzianum. I use it to prevent mold and other diseases.

Tim839 It seems like the early marocs are not willing to start producing although we’ve been getting 13 hours of light per day. The Northern lights 2 and 3 are looking close to ready and I’ll harvest them next week as the weather is getting rainier and rainier every week. The Afghan Kushs are still not looking ready.

Tim839 I harvested the Northern lights 2 and 3 as mold started to appear. (Day 69) I discarded the buds where mold was visible thus loosing around 30% of the harvest. I would have waited more if there wasn’t any mold. The Early Marocs are starting to show early signs of flowering but are still far from harvest day. The Early Maroc #2 is now 2 meters high ! The Afghan kushs on the other end are making me doubt. The weather should be relatively dry for the next few days so I’ll let them grow a bit more. The flowers don’t look ready to me but at the same time I should not be too greedy and let them to mold.

Grow Questions

Tim839started grow question 4d ago
Considering the weather is turning against me by getting rainier and rainier, would you harvest the afghan kushs now to avoid mold and miss out on potency or wait a week or even two before harvesting ?

If it is going to rain, I would harvest a bit earlier rather than lose a lot of buds to rot.

If you ask such a question - it is likely that you have more ownership and follow the weather. Everything will turn out perfectly for you) The bush already looks good, and every day it will be even better, check it more often and cut it off.

I'd try and wait till beginning of Oct or end of Sep, but your weather patterns will dictate if that is an option.
