APOG Test

zobiwan I put 9 seeds to germinate a week and 4 days ago, 8 of these seeds have germinated but one of the Permanent Marker didn't want to come to life, so I replaced it with a Girl Scout Cookies seed which is now a few days behind my crew 😁. I just transplanted all my subjects today... My small pots were way too root-bound and have nice, well-cared-for leaves. I placed my plants in 20L pots. 6 of them are under 400W SL and the others under 600W (dimmable Lumatek ballasts and pro XL reflector) for growth. I'm playing on a tempo that I can adjust as needed for heat, humidity, and ventilation... Everything is monitored and controlled via a massive development board that I programmed myself in C# to achieve a climate management system that I find appropriate, the only thing that isn't automated is watering and nutrients. By the way, speaking of nutrients, I'm testing the Monster Bud mix from Zamné for 3 of my plants (1 Orange Sherbet, 1 Afghani, and 1 Girl Scout Cookies) the others are under Hesi (the complete pack 😊) never tested it before, but basically, it's the same as many other nutrients on the market like Canna that I usually use. I wanted to do this test to see how it evolves, so I have duplicates of each strain for the 2 feeding methods except for Permanent Marker, since one of my seeds didn't germinate, that one will be fully Hesi, and I put the Girl Scout under Monster 😁. I supplement with worm compost sprays every 20 days and have been doing so for years 👌. Orange Sherbet has phenomenal growth, but I already knew it could reach heights of 200cm even indoors (that's why I chose it), a little management to limit it will be necessary 👍. Afghani is beautiful but a bit leggy, I'll fix that as soon as possible. Permanent Marker is great but one of them is lagging behind and growing strangely, nothing good on the horizon unfortunately, I've dealt with this kind of poor growth before and it usually ends in a cut, we'll see 😜.

zobiwan Second week has passed. I had some issues with the temperature... We've been in a heatwave since Saturday, and the temperature yesterday at my outdoor sensor was 45°, which obviously has a significant impact on the climate of my grow. I reached 37°, and my humidity dropped drastically to 36% on the daily minimum and 44% on the maximum, so the plants have been sweating while I found a solution to get the temperature down to 28° during the day and a good 18° at night, with humidity around 70%. The problem was partly solved with frozen water bottles and clip-on fans to circulate the cool air in the room; the system isn't ideal and gives a low 30° during the day and 23° at night, and the humidity has risen to a maximum of 56% and a minimum of 53%. I'm also supplementing with sprays to increase the humidity. Despite this, the plants are doing quite well 😁. Orange Sherbet and Permanent Marker got a low cut on the suckers; at this stage, they drain the main plant and force it to spread out. They won't yield much anyway and would require drastic defoliation to get enough lumens. Orange Sherbet is really pleasant and is growing well; the internodes are a good size and tend to maintain a low plant structure, but at this stage, they are already taking a majority height compared to Afghani and Permanent Marker, so I wouldn't be surprised by a rapid growth spurt this week 😋. The leaves are thick and dressed in a beautiful bottle green color 👌. It's growing well with both Monster Bud mix and Hesi for now 😁. Permanent Marker is also robust but is growing less in height. However, the famous seed that's growing in a strange way isn't sick; I think one of the 3 seeds from Blimburn Seeds doesn't belong to this variety... It's growing like a Sativa with beautiful, elongated, and narrow leaves, typical of Sativas. As for my 3 Afghanis, they are doing very well; they are growing slowly for now and aren't spreading too much. No real difference between Monster Bud mix and Hesi for now 👌. My little Girl Scout Cookies is growing steadily with its slight delay, and Monster Bud mix seems to suit it well 😁.

zobiwan 3rd week of growth. -Orange sherbet: Big development throughout the week, I removed as many suckers as possible, they are now ready for their last 2 weeks of growth, I will train them to lose height and avoid the risk of overgrowth, in order to better manage their flowering afterwards. This strain is very robust and doesn’t stress easily, a trim for one will be welcome at the beginning of this week for the other I plan to pinch it but I’m still waiting a day or two to make my decision 😊. For now, the difference between the plant fed by Hesi and the one fed by Monster Bud mix is significant, knowing that the most robust plant was put under Monster Bud', I don’t see major differences between these two types of fertilizers regarding growth 🤔... of this strain. -Afghani: True to itself, the plants are growing stocky with beautiful leaves, I was expecting a tougher development. I removed the lower suckers on the 3 plants, I’m waiting until mid-week to see their evolution and make a decision for their final training. The one under Monster Bud mix is much less stocky and presents a nice specimen, the other 2 under Hesi are shorter and stockier. -Permanent Marker: Very nice specimen 😁. Grows the same way as Orange Sherbet with the difference that it doesn’t have such thick foliage, but it’s still significant. The remaining plant is almost identical to that big O.Sherbet plant, which is great... The rest will be simpler than expected 😉. These suckers have been removed and I plan to give it the same treatment as my O.Sherbet plants. -Girl scout cookies: Late but has almost caught up with the stockiest Afghani. The leaves are really thick and massive 👌. The plant remains very low with inter-nodes too weak for my taste 😔. Its delay plays a big part in this... But the plant is solid and has caught up with Afghani 👌, I hope it will grow well during the coming week 🤞. I removed the lowest suckers and kept the others just for safety 😅. This is the only plant where I allow myself to keep a few low side branches due to its delay and short nodes. I didn’t have much time to decide to replace P.Marker with this strain, I could have chosen something more suitable, but it seemed to be the best option at the time... I’m not disappointed by its robustness in growth 😁, now let’s hope for a nice growth spurt this week, that would be ideal. -Plant ??? (Aka S-plant): Hehe, a very nice Sativa 👌, yum yum 🤗. This incognito plant is beautiful, I love Sativas, I find their cultivation energetic, just like the smoke that results from it 💪. It doesn’t have such phenomenal growth but the seeds often appear during the flowering period on this side, notice it has still caught up with the prettiest of the 3 Afghanis. Knowing that I have no clues about the lineage and phenotype of this plant, I only have this Sativa characteristic for info. Increased monitoring regarding the sexing of the plant should not be neglected and once this issue is resolved, it will be important to watch the trichomes to harvest at the right time 🤗... A fun little game for the coming weeks 👏.

zobiwan Very good week, no heat issues and humidity is on point... Orange sherbet: Still no real difference between the fertilizers used, 2 of the 3 specimens are gigantic, one exceeds 65 cm and the other is a bit smaller by 3 or 4 cm 👌. The 3rd plant I shaped to be shorter but denser with big thick leaves has behaved very well and is not experiencing any real stress from the techniques used to create this type of result (short and massive plant on the verge of bonsai 💪), of course the test here is to see if this type of cultivation for this variety is profitable or not 😉. 2 plants trimmed and one plant pinched. The pinched plant had a pre-flowering activation reaction, the other two did not experience any stress due to the trimming 👌. Afghani: I am more than satisfied with my end-of-growth result for my 3 plants, they are a reasonable size of 45 cm and should therefore, if all goes well, have a progression at the end of flowering to 120 or even 130 cm 👍. The plant under Monster Bud' is sturdier than the other 2, but we’ll see if it will be as abundant in flowering, plus I fear that it will have a sweeter and more acidic taste due to the fact that the organic fertilizers remain in the soil and it then becomes impossible to flush the plant at the end of the period 🤔. 2 plants trimmed and one plant pinched... Normal reaction with one or the other but a slight preference for pinching rather than trimming for obvious structural reasons. Permanent marker: Very nice trunk structure, thick foliage, and the plant is worked to stay level with the other varieties. The plant was trimmed because the trunk is quite wide and should be able to support this type of structure without too much intervention in its maintenance... We'll see! I'm quite disappointed not to have a second subject to test and make comparisons 😡, if this variety does what it promises I will get seeds again but from Zamné (I’m boycotting Blimburn for their incompetence in this area). Girl scout cookies: Still this slight delay which makes it a bit too short, so I attempted an aggressive trim to which it reacted very well 😋. I still elevated its pot to bring it up to the height of the other 2 plants. I can already see the result this will give at the end of flowering 😁😁😁... It reminds me of my first attempts 10 years ago! The plant is doing very well and has massive amplitude due to its beautiful, very green, and very thick leaves 😊. It has an extraordinary trunk and is well arranged in its structure, I can't wait to see its evolution 😁. S.plant: I have a soft spot for this plant that has no business being here 😍. It is beautiful with extremely long leaves finely pointed (Sativa ❤️). I trimmed it because surprisingly it has remained very short and has of course given very nice secondary branches with an extraordinary rise in 3 days 👍, it’s as if it’s listening to me to give the best of itself 🤩. You’ve understood, it has become the favorite 😉. The plant is exactly the same height as the other plants under this lamp, I couldn't hope for better 👌. Well, it’s going to be sporty in flowering but we’ll adapt and if it gives me trouble, I’ll add two more 400W lamps to not waste 😁. So here we are at the end of growth, I wanted to take 1 more week but Orange sherbet decided otherwise 🤗, I respect its choice 😁👌. Zoo, 36 hours in total blackout 🤣😂 to activate flowering through slight stress, I’m working old school on this grow Yes Yes 🤣😂. Of course, I won’t count these 36 hours in my first week of flowering, so we’ll have a delay for the next post ✌️. Until then, happy growing everyone 😉.
