Second try... I tried to sprout a seed last week, but the seed's taproot die after putting her in soil..no idea why.
Seed germinated by placing it in a glass of water until taproot shows, then transferred to damp paper towel, until taproot length was ok to be plant) and planted on August 18.
Third try...I've deleted the previous week of germination and week 1 of veg, as the seedling had completely stopped growing after the first 3 days above ground for over a week. Received a new seed replacement pack from RQS now and will try again and hope these seeds will do better! (pray for me)
I will try to post at least 1 picture everyday.
--------
Germination Day 1
I've bought a propagator set from Royal Queen Seeds and some coco plug to germinate the seed in because I'm curious to try another method than just placing the seed in water for a day and then moving it to a paper towel. I hope this way will be less stressful for the seedling when planted in the final pot.
I've sprayed the perlite in the propagator with some PH'd water and soaked the coco plug in PH'd water with 1ML/L of Bio Bizz Root Juice.
Very excited to see what will happen now.
Day 1
4 days after placing her in a soil pallet she has poppep out and she's looking good!
I've put her in an 11Liter pot (containing Bio Bizz Light mix + extra perlite + wormcastings) as the taproot was already coming out of the bottom of the peat pellet.
Day 2
Still looking good. She stretched a bit since yesterday so I increased the PPFD from 170 to 210, I will slightly increase it over the coming days.
Day 3
She is still stretching 😱so increasing PPFD to 320. she's looking healthy otherwise.
Day 4
She stopped stretching and I'm seeing the first set of true leaves getting bigger now. 😍
Day 5
Second set of true leaves are starting to develop now.
Day 6
Her first set of leaves are really starting to accelerate in growth now. top soil is dry but deeper down it's still a bit moist, will probably water tomorrow.
Day 7
The top 3cm were completely dry so I watered with 150ml's of water with 0.15ml/l root juice, PH'd to 6.3.

Day 8
She is still doing great, the second set of leaves are starting to pop off now.
Day 9
Surprised by how vigorous the growth has been so far. Definitely confirms that my previous 2 failed seed were from a bad batch or those seeds were damaged during transport.
Day 10
Soil was dry enough to water, so I watered her with 400ml(1ml/L of Root juice, Alg-a-mic & Bio-heaven)
She will probably need some more water by tomorrow again, happy to see this as in my previous growth the pot stayed wet for 3 weeks after the initial pre moistening the soil before planting the seed. The added perlite + airflow caused by continues intake from the inline fan(both which I didn't have in my previous grow) really help the dry backs of the pot A LOT.
@MrBulldops, Really? I've never seen that before that there is like zero change above the soil for so long so early on. Seems kinda impossible for me for it to catch up in growth then before she starts flowering, no?
@ChubbyBudBros, the first 3 weeks It may have grown about half an inch in my case last year.. I posted about my RQS northern lights outdoor grow if you want to compare it to how yours was growing… I actually planted another northern lights auto in my hydro system a couple days ago so it can get massive before I throw it outside with no help lmao anyways they have stayed the same size this whole time even in hydro
Fresh new grow, and some fresh motivation. I'll be tagging along for the ride in this restarted journal. Keep me updated and don't be shy to ask questions you think you know the answer to already!
Hope she had a growth spurt, I'd suggest trying to increase the PPFD to about 400 - perhaps she just needs more light to energize. I'm running the same strain currently, at least 400 PPFD since germination.
@DutchBarnacle, I sadly gave up on her. she had zero progression still a few days after my last update. I contacted Royal Queen Seeds and informed them that my 2 seeds seemed to come from a bad batch and they send me a new free pack. So I'll be restarting this grow. Yours seems to be doing well however!
