Half the plants are down at this point and I'm sure the rest will be down in a few more days. I'm going to do mostly a wet trim and then clean it up a little after to remove any of the really frosty looking sugar leaves for hash making. The variet between the phenos and the cool crossovers between them are really interesting. Looks like one plant hermed but very very late into flower so no real effects. 2 of the plants looks like the fire 1 from one pheno and 1 a mix between the fire pheno and another pheno. I'll do a harvest post this week or next week when the trimming is done.
Yeah, I've heard a lot on this and the closest I can figure is that the RO water, through osmosis, will create a homogeneous solution. Because of the extra water, the salts will be flushed though not completely as that would be next to impossible.
Because the internet didn't seem to have an answer on it, last grow I tried a few different ways of flushing and didn't flush 1 plant to see if it made a difference. At the end of the day there wasn't a huge difference but the plant that got no flushing was definitely 'harsh' to smoke.
So I think 100% water or 10% nutes will more or less be the same thing when it's dried and in the bong. Trying a bit of a longer flush this time.
@psyych, Looking really good. Doing a Barney's run myself but with totally different plants from you! (mostly) I'll def keep track of how it's going for you. Super impressed with Barney's
Nice grow!! I"ve read that given 0 nuts at flush will make leaves STORE nuts instead of release the nuts to the flower, in this topic is said that the best option for flush is to give 10% of strength.
I do believe that plants can feel such a condition and do such a mechanism, but it's just a site saying things...
Good luck!!
Hey, what is the stone like when the trichomes are that clear?
Right now, mine are transitioning from clear to cloudy.
I want to get a good mix of brown/amber trichomes because that is when the thc is at it's highest. Wait, you can cut it down while the white hairs are still white?
I thought they had to turn yellow/brown first cause that indicates the bud it is attached to has finished forming?
@canablizz, Prob too early to harvest when they are they clear. I usually wait for 30%+ amber on Indicas for a V heavy stone. That pic is showing how some of the plants were not ready for harvest and others were.
With the above pictures that plant on the left was cut down with 30% amber trichomes but still, some of those pistils were white. What's weirder is that plant is a hermaphrodite and is FULL of seeds. In the next post, I'll go over the different phenos but that plant is destined to become hash and isn't good for smoking. But hey, that's what happens with a new strain sometimes. Some of the other plants in the same genetics are completely different and insanely potent.
@canablizz, it’s a bit early looking at those trichs for sure. But the strain is mostly Indica and so it will either make it a lighter Indica with less couch lock and heavy narcotic effect and more of a racy high or it will just have a lower total thc content. That’s why it’s awesome to have a veg tent so you can cut clones and experiment with harvest times. Every strain and harvest time are different so finding exactly where you like it is the best bet and cutting clones garuntees the genetics don’t change so only difference is harvest and cure. Clones are freebies cut them and do science stuff y’all!
