Welcome to my Royal Gorilla Diary
This grow will join the RQS outdor grow contest at later time, I hope i get lucky and bugs won't eat it.
After receiving contest box, i asked about germinating indoors, after confirmation i popped a seed in the soil.
Germinated in pot indoors (gift pack was massive! see pics), after germination i put outdoor but i kinda forgot her.
This one is growing together with a small tobacco plant to keep some unwanted insects away, i want to add some dill and coriander soon.
So our royal gorilla is in her second week already, and she looks pretty healthy. Soil is reused soil with new fertilizers added to the soil.
I'using a mixture of dried cow poop pellets and chicken poop pellets to give the soil some renewed power.
Most of this is in the top layer of the soil (watering from above) so nutrients can be spread extra during watering.
This should be enough for the first 6-7 weeks, so when the buds start to take shape we can start with adding some mineral nutrients in addition to the organic feeding.
This week we the weather will be a bit cold, so I put her a bit close to the house.
Weather was a bit windy, so pictures are not the best, but hey... it's an outdoor thing isn't it?
Last week we had wonderfull weather, but this week weather will go under 15C, hope everything will go well.
No additional nutrients yet, there's enough in the soil for 1 full round, but i iwll start adding mineral nutrients soon, just to get better taste and to be sure that no shortages of minerals will be visible on leaf (or better said... let's feed enough, so the insects can have some too (outdoor).
Welcome to my RQS Roya Gorilla Auto diary
Weather is very cold and a lot of rain, so she's on survival in my outdoor tent
Flowering would set, but i think it was too cold.
so... let's hope for better weather
Welcome to my grow diary of the Royal queen seeds Royal Gorilla
very nice looking, overall very good performance for this kind of (not so good) weather.
Hoping for flowering to set soon, warm weather is coming this week, so maybe in a couple of days we can see the first flowering hairs.
Welcome to week 5 of veg. of the Royal queen seeds Royal Gorilla
pre-flowering hairs visible....
some stretching... but flowering did not set completely yet
I'm starting to like the size of this Royal Gorilla, hope the side branches will be alike.
Welcome to my diary of the Royal Gorilla by Royal Queen Seeds
Growth progression looks very nice, very strong plant
not too small for an autoflowering version
so i decided to apply some HST
let's see how fast she will recover
I will be adding some guano tea to the menu upcoming week to get maximum taste.
Welcome to the 7th week of my Royal queen seeds Royal Gorilla diary
Development is very good, this week i've added some guano tea to the watering, leaf is looking good
she's liking the outdoor weather, i'm impressed with the growth
responded very well after the HST
the shape is nice and a bit strange ofcourse, i don't need the stealthy look, but i like it
Welcometo my diary of the Royal Gorilla by Royal queen seeds
we had some storm, result is another HST just below the other point
lickily it didn't break.
hoping it keeps developing at same pace
plant seems to like the guano.
welcome to my diary of the Royal Gorilla by Royal Queen Seeds
Development is great
Very good resistance to water / rain
i have some powdery mildew, could be something in the soil
but the development still looks great
no big bug attacks luckily (yet)
loving the bat guano tea
as you can see the plant seems to have started with finishing
we in Holland we often tend to cut the weed then it has milky/clear trichs, so it could be an early finish.
very happy with that, we didn;t have the best weather
Welcome to week10 of my Royal Gorilla by Royal Queen Seeds diary
This week I noticed that the upper part of the flower was ready to harvest, so yesterday night i took off a piece, it's the majority of the HST'ed main cola.
This way the buds on the center cola emerge from the stem like normal buds for the biggest part.
I don't want to wait for amber, the THC level will drop too much
So... I think next week i can smoke a test example of the weed and tell you more about it.
Oh.. btw. this flower had some leaves with powdery mildew, i had it before, it does do something with your yield numbers, but as long as you wipe the leaves now and then with a wet cloth, the most will dissappear for a couple of days, it won't have too much effect on the quality and yield.
When I look at this flower i think that Royal Queen seeds is a great company with very good seeds, the resistance against insects looks good, i planted a tobacco plant in the same pot as pest prevention. The plant has super resistance against rain, i have a tomotoe tent (not expensive, nice and cheap, not so stable when it gets really windy though) but most of the time when it rained i forgot to put her in the tent.
Plants smells really really good, neighbours say it smells just like Lemon Haze or dutch coffeeshop amnesia haze.
- About the Royal Gorilla's dankness:
this weed smell danky, but a special kind of dank
it fills up the room (i have simple roof terrace) with a lemony aroma that weedsmokers get attracted to, but won't get you in trouble with the wife, or mom it you're a bit younger.
totally non skunky only citrus alike smell, with a little pinch of pine freshness on top of it.
Welcome to week 11 of my Royal Gorilla by Royal Queen Seeds diary
Finishing but not finished completely,
Harvesting the buds as soon as they are finished to keep an active high when smoking
Welcome to the 12th week from seed of my Royal Gorilla by Royal Queen Seeds diary
Not all the buds have fully ripened, i expect it to happen in the coming week.
The first parts are dry already and have a fantastic lemony aroma
Taste is awesome and can't wait to cut the last buds.
easy to grow, brings big buds, you can do nearly anything you want with this strain, i made some strange shapes with it, plant keeps throwing its bud.
good quality harvest. i smoked it then it was fresh and now after +4wks curing it still tastes very good. in my opinion its not needed to cure for long period to achieve better taste
