Zeven_Xero_Fyve . (filling retroactively) End of Week 2: Growing incredibly well. Stem could use some thickening, but that should come with time. Side Note: It's a regular seed and could be a male at this point (especially given it's vigor), but a few days into week 3 I started getting bubble gum smell from top leaves, very faint but smelled exactly like Hubba Bubba "Bubble Tape" as I remember it, despite not having smelled or chewed that gum for decades 😋). Because Male plants don't typically start smelling so early, I'm leaning towards this being a female, but even if its not I'm still keeping as that smell brings years of childhood flooding back to me, and gives me shivers its so good. 😍😃

Zeven_Xero_Fyve . end of Week 3: "Bubblegum" is doing really well, quite vigorous and also super thirsty, despite me keeping the VPD in the 0.8-1.0 range. The leaves are thinner than average, more easily damaged, and they sometimes have a faint purple hue under the right light. The damage on the top leaf was due to me playing scratch n' sniff the other day to get a good whiff. oops 😐

Zeven_Xero_Fyve . End of Week 4 (day 28): Over the last few days it was starting to become apparent that Bubblegum might be a male, and today I was able to get a close enough look and I'm 99% sure those are pollen sacks forming. That being said, he's not getting chopped but instead will go to his own small tent to produce fresh pollen, much of the reason being the delicious bubblegum smell that started after 2.5 weeks. Had me fooled with that delicious bubblegum smell and shorter stature, along with early pre-flower looking more spearhead-shaped.

Zeven_Xero_Fyve . End of Week 5 (Day 35): I'll continue adding weeks to this diary as it might help someone in the future with spotting a male early. 😇👊🙏 I'm far from being good at sexing cannabis, but all indicators I'm aware of say Bubblegum is a male - e.g. Sepals and Anther being visible, simple plant structure with fewer leaves, lack of stigmas anywhere, stipules being apart and not crossed (like sitting with legs apart vs crossed), barely any "weed smell" after 4 or 5 weeks of growth, etc.. Edit: Just for clarity these are from regular seeds so def not a herm. If it was a hermed female then it would get transplanted into the compost with the rest of the plant waste.

Zeven_Xero_Fyve . End of Week 6 (Day 42): The lad's been busy this week transitioning into a pollen factory. Still early, but I should be collecting pollen in the not-too-distance future as his sacks mature. I managed to catch a Cal-Mag deficiency early and adjusted for it. New leaves are coming in with a normal hue of green again. Not exactly worried since pollen is pollen, but can't hurt to keep him healthy until it's his time to kick the bucket. 😵 He's not really had any real "weed smell" yet, but his tent smells like Hubba Bubba Bubble Tape if I start handling leaves, which is fine by me. 😋

Hey Bro, I had the same thing happen to my last plant. These days it seems like more and more seeds are producing hermies. It makes sense, they basically force a perfectly good female to grow pollen sacks to create female pollen. To me that just sounds awful, lol. I am not a fan of it in the human or the plant world..hahaha. I live in Canada so the laws are pretty lax here, found a place to get clones for cheap but time will be the judge of how stable these genetics are? I have heard nothing but good things though. I hope you have better luck dude!👊

@Thundrfuk, It's all good, This one is 100% male from regular seeds, been searching for a good pollen producer with the right cannabinoids (for medical reasons) and this one checks all the boxes. But I agree, herm chances these days from some strains are too high. The practice of producing feminized seeds across the industry is probably increasing herm traits into "licensed seeds" (as the Canada gov calls them) more than it should.

AH, 7 East. Have heard good thinks about them, will later try to get some of their seeds. Good luck with your breeding.🙏

@GrowerBaal, Yes they're awesome😎. I ordered 10 CBD Dragon F3 and 10 Blueberry Bastard seeds and they sent me way more than that, plus a bunch of free seeds of another strain I can't recall off the top of my head. I've only ordered from them once so I don't know if they're that generous every time, but their genetics are solid. They have some absolutely crazy strains available on their website, been tempted to order their Dragon Punch strain that apparently can grow 14 feet high outdoors 😦 https://www.7eastgenetics.com/regular-seeds/108-dragon-punch.html
