Electroculture Valley Grow

Anon73 What a week! So much work was done. I used cow manure compost in the soil to give them a boost. Tried the weed blocker to try to keep the bugs and grass clear for my work. The area is 500 square feet. This was mid June, finished June 21st

Anon73 Added electro culture antennas. I made them with 4 and 6 gauge copper wire and a 4 foot dowel that was 2 inches wide. It wasn’t too hard but it was a pain making the wire straight. The water was set for three ten minute sprays every Monday, Wednesday and Saturday at 6:30am, 1pm and 8:30pm. The sprayers are stick sprayers from Drip Depot. I am using filtered water with a Hydrologic Big Boy filter, it produces 8gpm. For feeding I have a 100 gallon collapsible water barrel and I use a pump that can attach to the irrigation system.

Anon73 Proceeding same as last week. Growth is excellent.

Anon73 I started topping the plants to enhance branch growth to increase tops. The weather has been decent but hazy from the Canadian wildfires. Growth is vigorous.

Anon73 Week 5 and the plants are bursting out now. I am very pleased with the electroculture, seems like the bugs do not want to touch the plants.

Anon73 Growth is exponential now. I had to install poles to stabilize several plants, some were tilting. It seems as if they grew so fast they were leaning over. I have topped them several more times and removed some of the inner wasteful branches.

Anon73 Still pinching out tops, clearing out wasteful inner growth points. Growth is still very vigorous.

Anon73 Growth is still excellent. Very little insect activity. The copper antennas are working well along with the weed blocker. It’s so much cleaner without grass growing in between the plants. Pruning continues.

Anon73 Excellent growth still. No bugs, no mildew. Found a few snails and one grasshopper. The grasshopper would not touch the plant. It was staying on the support pole. Flowering has made itself known.

Anon73 Performed final lollipopping of the inside and lower plant areas. Growth has slowed and flowering is more pronounced. The puffball stage has arrived. Top dressed with Gaia Green 70% flower and 30% grow. Almost zero bug damage, which is shocking.

Anon73 Performed simple maintenance this week. Provided nutrients. The flowering has increased dramatically. I discovered five areas showing a boring worm has entered the branch where the leave connects to the node. I have sprayed with monterey BT to start control over the worms. I will spray three days later after the rain. I will continue until a week or two before harvest. These worms can do serious damage so I’ll be aggressive to ensure a healthy harvest.

Anon73 Still spraying with Monterey BT. Minimal moth larvae damage. Flowers are increasing in size as well as scent. All plants are at different stages of flower within a week or two of progress. I will add more plant support next week as the branches are increasing in weight now. Most plants are taller than me now with many tops. It will be quite the effort to roll out the support poles and accompanying twine.

Anon73 Still spraying with Monterey BT to control the boring moth larvae. Leaned the area and provided the nutes. Watering is on the same schedule and flower production is booming. Next week I will provide video of the nutrient solution application method.

Anon73 Victory over the moth larvae. Removed them with pipe cleaners. Still spraying Monterey BT. No new larvae holes. Reinforced several plants with velcro tape. The flowers are becoming heavy. The scent is overpowering. Sugar Cane is extraordinarily heavy and the flowers have not yet begun to swell. Gorilla Glue 4 is heavy and the branches have started to bend outward from the weight. All three were reinforced. Garlic Z is not a large plant and the buds are behind all the rest in progress but the flowers are close and compact.

Anon73 Had a massive rainstorm, hadn’t supported the plants as I had planned due to spraying for moth larvae. The storm damaged several plants. I strapped most of them back together with Zip ties and stakes. They recovered nicely. Some branches were not recoverable so they were trimmed and dried. No more nutrients, just water to finish off.

Anon73 Pave was ready, took the tops and let the rest swell, also took down the tops from pink pillow.Gush mintz were getting to the point of over ripe, took all the heavy tops. Some rot was found. Took down the tops from the original blueberry, they were rock solid and just to the apex of maturity, the flowers were pristine save a few holes from moth larvae- also left the lower branches to fill out. Many hours of trimming already and I have not made a dent in the garden. Sugar cane and gorilla glue have produced massive colas and I plan on taking the mature tops next week. I had some trouble with the centurion tabletop trimmer but it was just due to massive amounts of sticky resin on the brush roller and blade. This is the stickiest and healthiest crop yet, perhaps it is due to the elecroculture antennas I made and installed this year (see week 2.) Bugs did not want any part of the garden this year except for the moth larvae and spiders (which were beneficial.)
