Three 'Quick one' seeds, from RoyalQueenSeeds, planted in a RQS Soil plug each. The soil plugs are moistened with a spray bottle and put in a glass jar with the lid not fully closed. This is to keep the RH% high, but still be able to breathe.
Three 11L (3Gal) fabric pots are prepared with the organic potting soil. Unfortunately, the potting soil was infested with fungus gnats.
Because of this, nematodes are ordered to combat the fungus gnats. The fabric pots are put in a dry warm place to dry out, until the nematodes arrive.
25/08/2025
Nematodes have arrived today.
The fabric pots are watered in advance to prepare the soil for the nematodes.
After waiting several hours, the pots are treated.
26/08/2025
All three plants started to push the top soil aside and show themself a bit.
27/08/2025
All three plants have sprouted and are approx. 2cm-3cm tall.
One plant is showing a tiny bit of root at the bottom of the plug.
28/08/2025
All three plants have a root sticking out the bottom of the plug.
Prepared the soil today, to plant the seedlings.
First mixed approx. 8L of soil with 1L vermiculite (10%) and 2L perlite (20%), and then put a small layer (2-3cm) inside the 11L smart pot.
Mixed 10gr ascophyllum nodosum (Kelp) powder and 10gr RQS Rhyzobacter with the remaining soil. After mixing it is added to the smart pot.
After the pot was filled, a 10cm hole was made in the middle. This hole is filled with soil which was rinsed to lower the fertilizer content.
The rinsed soil is mixed with 4gr of RQS Mycorrhiza. A small hole is made for the soil plug. But before putting the plug in, it is sprinkled with 1gr of Mycorrhiza. After the plug is added to the hole, a bit of soil is carefully put on top to cover it all.
All three pots have been placed inside the grow tent, with only two out of four lights (50W/lamp) turned on, at a height of approx. 60cm from the soil.
A glass is put on top of each seedling to raise RH%. The soil around the glass is sprayed with water to slightly moisten it as the top layer had dried.
The extraction fan is turned of and the oscillating fan is turned on for circulation.

All three plants are developing well, but one is slightly bigger than the rest.
For the past week, all three plants got their cup sprayed on the inside with a spray bottle.
The second node has started to develop on all plants.
All three the pots received approx. 250mL of water around the edge, to keep the soil moist for the microbes and encourage root growth to search for water.

The plants were watered too early and are showing slight signs of over watering.
03/09/2025
The two biggest plants are starting to show slight signs of light stress, slightly curled leaves and yellow leaf tips.
Raised the growing light from approx. 50cm to approx. 60cm from the top of the plants.
04/09/2025
Hung a moist towel in the grow tent to increase RH%.
05/09/2025
All three plants received approx. 250ml of tap water around the edge of the pot, to promote root growth, and a little bit around the stem to keep the soil moist for the microbes.
RH%: 70%
Temp: 27C

All three plants are growing well and the third node is developing rapidly, with the fourth node popping its head.
One of the plants (Orange one) is a mutant. At first sight it appeared as if the third node was only developing one branch instead of the usual two branches per node. But is now developing three branches in the third node. It looks as if the plant was FIMed, even though nothing was done to the plant. Quite an interesting development and makes me intrigued in the result.

All three plants received approx. 500ml tap water.
The mutated one is in hindsight just a normal plant (two branches per node), with deformed leaves.
09/09/2025
The ladies are becoming quite thirsty. Purple and orange have the soil almost dry at approx. 3cm deep.
Orange is not as abnormal as previously thought. Its leaves are quite deformed, but otherwise it's normal.
Blue is still smaller than the others, but looks overall very healthy.
11/09/2025
All three plants received approx. 500ml tap water.
12/09/2025
Started LST with purple.
The plant is bent over at approx. 3cm height and the rest held horizontal with an LST hook.
14/09/2025
All three plants received their first Biotab.
First, a small hole is dug approx. 5cm deep, halfway between the plant and the edge of the pot. Approx. 0.5gr of RQS Mycorrhiza mix is sprinkled in the hole and the biotab is pushed in on top. A thin layer of soil is put on the biotab, after which approx. 0.5gr of mycorrhiza is sprinkled on top.
Finally the rest of the soil is put back to close the hole and all three plants received approx. 500ml tap water.
Started LST on orange as well.

Blue appears to be a week behind in development. It looks like it got over watered and has a bit of light stress.
Placed it approx. 10cm further from the plant.
19/09/2025
Blue appears to be recovering well and the new growth is looking much better.
20/09/2025
Orange and purple are developing their first pistils. Indicating their transition into flowering phase.
21/09/2025
All three plants received their second Biotab.
First, a 5cm deep hole is carefully made and approx. 0.5gr Mycorrhiza is sprinkled inside. The Biotab is placed in the hole and pressed deeper to approx. 10cm, after which the rest of the Mycorrhiza is sprinkled on top and the hole is closed again.
All three plants received approx. 500ml Rhizobacter solution (1gr/L).
