Temperature regime With the onset of cold weather, the temperature outside drops below zero at night. On the insulated balcony, a 240W LED light raises the temperature to +10...+15°C. Inside the grow box, a comfortable range of 18-22°C is maintained at night, ensuring normal plant development. Plant condition The plants look healthy and are actively growing. Even the smallest specimen shows intense leaf mass growth, which is great to see. Seed issues Unfortunately, the batch of Barneys Farm Sour Diesel seeds turned out to be clearly defective. Out of five seeds, only 2 sprouted in a glass with water and Simplex SeedX stimulant. The others showed no signs of life. For comparison, budget Trikhoma Seeds (ordered a couple of weeks after these) all sprouted using the same germination method and demonstrated strong roots 5-10 mm long in the same time frame (100% rooted, they are stronger in the photo under the spoiler). Show content Warranty issue I submitted a warranty request to the seller @Cannado, as they promised a replacement if less than 2 out of 5 seeds germinated. Day 41 I completely replaced the solution in two containers (about 30-35 liters) - the roots were starting to yellow, and it bloomed at a temperature of +26. Osmosis water for the entire cycle. Root rot is not needed. I topped all the plants. One Sour Diesel Barneys Farm plant was topped and left with only 3 levels of branches. After 2-3 days, the shoots are 1.5-2 cm. Switching to 12/12 for two in a 15 l AeroPot (GHS and Barney's Farm are the strongest seedlings).

HoneyBlunt42 Day 50 I switched GHS (the weakest one initially) to hydroponics on a 12/12 light schedule. I completely replaced the solution with a new one. Upon inspecting the root system, I found slight yellowing of the roots, but no rot was detected. Every day I spray the roots with a spray bottle. After the heat, a "fur" appears on the roots, which I successfully wash off. Osmosis water is used to prepare the nutrient solution. On the 18/6 schedule, only the weakest specimen remains, as well as a topped and cleaned Sour Diesel seedling from Barneys Farm. Day 52 I prepared a new 5-liter batch of solution with Simplex Coco A + B at 1 ml/l of each bottle for the strongest plants, which I switched to 12/12 first. I feed them with growth stimulators through the leaves. ⚠️ CRITICAL SITUATION: The day before yesterday, the plants experienced heat shock. Due to sunny weather, the temperature on the balcony rose to +33°C in two hours, and inside the box it likely reached 38-40°C for 2-3 hours. The tops got burned, and I had to cut off 4 tops. In response to the stress, I raised the light to 35 cm above the plants. There is explosive growth observed after switching to the 12/12 schedule and increasing light intensity - growth was 5 cm in 2 days! This requires more careful monitoring of the distance to the lamp.

HoneyBlunt42 Day 61 The strongest plants are developing steadily, and the flowers are gaining mass. The mutant with 8 colas is ready to switch to 12/12 — it's really asking to flower. There's an issue with the GHS Wonder Pie: After applying the products, new roots appear, but the overall health of the plant doesn't improve. You can see new white roots emerging from the basket, which turn brown after a couple of days. In the solution, after 3-4 days, some biomass is floating on the surface. The roots are weak and fall apart at the touch. Externally, the plant has slowed its development, but it hasn't completely stopped. Conclusions and plans: I understand that the struggle might not end in my favor. Coco is currently proving to be the most successful solution. I'm thinking of transplanting this bush into coco so it can flower with healthy roots. Hydroponics without Hesi Root Complex is a waste of time.

HoneyBlunt42 Yesterday, I transplanted GHS Wonder Pie into coco — dealing with root rot in DWC has finally worn me out. I switched to a 12/12 schedule, and we're starting flowering. Two strong plants in AeroPot (GHS Wonder Pie and Barneys Farm Sour Diesel) have stretched to 50-55 cm and seem to be growing wider rather than taller. There's only 10 cm to the light, but everything looks good — the tops aren't burning, and the development is even. In the box below them, I allocated half the space for 2 bags of 15 liters with two weaker plants. I've been actively topping and training them with LST. The Sour Diesel from Barneys has been particularly interesting — it started as a mutant with two main colas, and now there will be 8, maybe even all 12 (for some reason, sometimes 3 sprouts come out instead of 2 from the cut area). The pots are heavy with moisture, so I paused the auto-watering. Right now, I'm spraying with stimulants from a spray bottle: HB-101, Simplex VitaS, and Mass — mixing them with Simplex Start Up in turns to provide nitrogen through the leaves and avoid deficiencies and red stems. The green patch is a delight to the eyes. The DWC system has moved to another box. It had a weak GHS Super Lemon Haze underneath — I hope the little one picks up. DWC gives a good start for 40 days on the roots, but without Hesi Root or Canna Rhizotonic, root rot sets in. I tried adding biota — the solution bloomed and became opaque, not suitable. However, I added Gammair and 5 grams of powdered mycorrhiza to the coco — let's see how it works.

HoneyBlunt42 Day 69 Big 60 cm - 18 colas from the two main bushes (Barney's Farm Sour Diesel and GHS). Flowering is actively progressing - the flowers are already starting to form into small buds, which is very pleasing at this stage. I'm gradually trimming the lower foliage and small branches to improve ventilation and concentrate the plant's energy on the main colas. I'm working slowly to avoid creating unnecessary stress. In the lower box, there are two more plants in pre-flower, but they are weaker than the main ones. One of them is turning a great green and looks very bushy - it's a real pleasure to watch its development in width. I'm tying it to the GrowBag with office rubber bands. The second plant is going through a recovery period after being transplanted from hydroponics to coconut. Visually, the branches are about twice as thin because the root system suffered greatly from root rot. There are only a few live roots left, but there is hope that it will manage to grow a new root mass in the 15-liter grow bag. It's slowly forming buds. Watering is automated by a timer - 2-3 times a day, until about 10% of the solution volume is drained into the tray. This provides good drainage and prevents salt buildup. The first CO2 BAG has finished. Half of the second bag is still working in the lower box (installed at the beginning of this grow). Today I activated the third bag and hung it in the upper box. The effect of CO2 is obvious - the plants in pre-flower are developing more actively, and the leaves are reaching palm size. Day 74 Upper box — beauties on the march The two sturdy ones at the top are blooming in all their glory. However, Barney's Farm Sour Diesel decided they are rockets — they’re shooting up! I'm managing to bend them down and raised the light all the way up to the charcoal filter, keeping at least 15 cm from the tops to avoid burning. I'm watering just over a liter a day. For the first time, I'm using coco: Simplex Coco A and B at 3 ml/l, before that CalMag at 1 ml/l (calcium-magnesium — THIS IS IMPORTANT, without it everything will die in osmosis), and then I add Fulvic Gold for better absorption. I'm pampering the leaves with stimulants: sometimes Simplex Mass, sometimes VitaS (5 drops per liter), alternating them with HB-101 (5 ml/l) — different ones every other day, usually once a week. The foliage is responding well. Three days ago, I stretched a net over the 120×120 box. It turned out crooked, to be honest, but it holds and bends the tops — so it works, and that's fine 😄 Lower box — the guys are on standby Clearly, the harvest will be 2–4 weeks later than the first ones. The difference in phenotypes even in one pack — classic. Down below, two are a bit more modest: Sour Diesel from Barney's Farm and a fighter from GHS. Both are beautiful, but GHS has already shown 4 mm of flowers. It survived root rot in hydro — now it's noticeably smaller than Barney's. Barney's Sour Diesel was even switched to 12/12 a couple of weeks later, so it will catch up. GHS, it seems, will be a small but pleasant surprise — the roots aren't great. But Barney is delighting with central colas, some already the thickness of a pinky. I'm watering the upper ones automatically: a pump with a timer and battery pumps the solution from a 5-liter bottle every 4 hours for 15 seconds. At the bottom of the bottle, an aeration stone bubbles around the clock — the solution is alive. I'm feeding the lower ones manually. Every day I bend them with rubber bands in 15-liter grow bags, otherwise they'll bump their heads into the lamp — the box is low, only a meter. Light — a sore subject PPFD according to the Lux-525 app shows a pitiful 350 in the center under the lamp at a height of 10–15 cm. And growers from the forums say they use up to 1000 during flowering. It seems I'm under-lighting the trees — I’ll need to upgrade the lamp or get supplementary lights. CO₂ — experiments continue I hung two CO2BAGs (seemingly 100 g each). One has already given everything, the second is on its way. However, the bases of all the bushes have formed strongly — LST worked excellently. The upper bushes are popping out from under the net by 5-10 cm every day. I bend and twist the tops — it lasts for a day, then they recover and keep pushing up like diesels. Timeline forecast According to other reports, it takes about 15 weeks from seed to harvest. So, another 3-4 weeks of flowering. Equipment issues Humidity sometimes rises to 80-90%. One light fixture started shorting and flickering — there's a spark visible at the connection between the ballast and the board. A drop of epoxy from the factory would fix this design flaw. I hope to make it through this board until the end of the cycle, but overall it's time to think about more serious lighting. In another box, the Chinese 120W LED has started shining at half power, producing a PPFD of 100-150 at the top. It's time for upgrades; what to do with the old LED light?

HoneyBlunt42 Day 85 In both boxes, the buds are flourishing. The upper one has a very loose bush. There are colas in the buds, but a lot of space. The tops have just started to grow in width. I had to hang a 250W HPS lamp on the balcony in the other box. It helps keep the temperature on the balcony at +16°C and above. It also dries the air well. Outside it's -20°C — I can't ventilate often. Humidity is 60% and above. This might be why the tops aren't compacting.

HoneyBlunt42 Day 94 Harvest of 2 trees. The strongest ones went to dry after trimming the fan leaves. I let them stand for 14 weeks, some growers go for 20 weeks. In the lower tier, there’s one bush of GHS and Barneys Farm Sour Diesel. The upper bushes stretched too much. The tops haven't finished forming, but the buds in the middle have already grown a bit. The branches are off for 10 days of drying in the box with the Clover M300 carbon filter and the Era Profit 5 190 m3/h duct for continuous extraction. The plan for this box is to use it for the next bushes with faster ripening. The lower ones have already formed dense buds and are no longer stretching towards the light. I’m feeding them with a self-watering compote.

HoneyBlunt42 Harvest is complete: I collected the two strongest trees after 14 weeks of growing. Some growers wait up to 20 weeks, but I decided not to. After trimming the fan leaves, the plants were sent to dry. After 10 days of drying in a dark box with a filter, I gathered 73 grams of dry buds from 2 bushes.

HoneyBlunt42 The buds are swelling. I'm feeding CalMag with the base, removed the PK booster. Sometimes I didn't water every day - I noticed red stems on the leaves. I set up auto-watering, mixed a 2 ml/l portion for the last 2 weeks of flowering. The other two plants have gone through half of the drying process and shrunk by half.

HoneyBlunt42 Yesterday I switched the plants to flushing. I'm only watering with osmosis water and CalMag 0.5 ml/l. I slightly lower the Simplex pH Down - 0.5 ml/l. I’m flushing for a week, the buds are quite dense and aromatic. The plants look healthy, red stems on the large leaves - I skipped watering a couple of times and let the substrate dry out recently. I think the reason is nutrient lockout. It doesn't seem to have affected the flowers, they are swelling. Overall, I expect to harvest more from one Sour Diesel plant than from the other three. It looks the biggest, with 10 excellent colas formed. A lemon aroma has appeared. The colas on this plant look much denser and larger than on its harvested brother from the same pack of seeds. The smell has intensified so much that it's better to keep the balcony door closed. The air filter can't handle it. Maybe the charcoal got damp due to the increased humidity.

HoneyBlunt42 On the third day of flushing, I realized they wouldn't get any more ready. Harvested, trimmed the big leaves. Into a dark, ventilated box with a carbon filter for 10 days. Then I'll weigh the dry weight and store them in glass jars to cure for a week or two.
