Hobbygrower97 A new grow, a new challenge. This time I've chosen the Bisotti Mintz genetics from Barneys Farm. I treated myself to the seeds in a sale a few months ago. Apparently, I got a bit lucky here, as the pack was supposed to contain only one seed. We'll have to wait and see if both are Bisotti Mintz. These were stored in the fridge. Despite the age of the seeds (from September 2023 according to the package), both have germinated without any issues. For this, I soaked the seeds in water for 12 hours in the dark and then placed them in a damp kitchen towel. After another 24 hours, a germ root about 1 cm long had already appeared. I then put the two little ones in starter pots and covered them with a cup. With the short distance from the lamp and the PPFD of about 350, I'm hoping for not too much stretching.

Hobbygrower97 In the past few weeks, I haven't put much work into the two. After the 2nd week, I put them into the 11L final pots. I also added the GreenHouseFeeding organic fertilizer right away. One of them has definitely taken it in better than the other. During the growth, I kept bending down the large fan leaves so that the side branches would get better light. By the middle of this week, I topped the larger of the two so that both will grow as evenly as possible during flowering. I will initiate flowering in no more than 2 weeks.

Hobbygrower97 So much can happen in a week... The two are developing splendidly, and I'm more than happy with the current state of the grow. It really shows what's possible when you stick to a few optimal values like PPFD and pH levels. In the last days of the veg phase, both plants have practically exploded in growth. I might run into some space issues later during flowering, but I'll have to come up with something when the time comes. Now the flowering phase is starting, and I'm curious to see how much the two Biscotti Mintz will stretch.

Hobbygrower97 Towards the end of the first flowering week, I defoliated the two a bit. They've been handling it quite well so far. Luckily, the stretch is still within limits. I've increased the lamp distance to the maximum possible, as the PPFD at the highest point is already 750. There are also now noticeable pistils visible at the nodes.

Hobbygrower97 The two are stretching quite nicely so far. They could start slowing down if it were up to me, since I can't raise the lamp distance anymore and the PPFD is already at 1100. Unfortunately, it looks like I'll have to dim the light output a bit soon. This week, there was again a more or less small defoliation, as I'm struggling with humidity and can't get it below 60% despite the dehumidifier. Overall, I'm very satisfied with the run so far.

Hobbygrower97 As I feared, the stretch is a bit more intense than planned. Due to the height of the two, I had to reduce the light output to about 100 watts to ensure that a value of 1200 PFD is not exceeded. The flower and trichome formation is in full swing and simply beautiful to observe. At the end of the 3rd week of flowering, I did some serious defoliation and lollipopping to better manage the humidity. However, it's currently difficult to control this (despite a good dehumidifier). I need to come up with something soon.

Hobbygrower97 The flowering phase is continuing its course. The trichomes and flower sites are developing beautifully. On the main stem of the larger plant and its leaves, there are slight signs of light stress, which is why I've reduced the light intensity by about 5% again. They are very thirsty and need almost 4 liters of water every day, which I only adjust to a pH value between 6 and 7. The GreenhouseFeeding nutrients are doing a great job so far. At the beginning of next week, I will perform a final defoliation.

Hobbygrower97 In flowering week 5 and 6, not much happened. The two are quite thirsty, and I have to water about 5 L per plant almost daily. The first pistils are already changing color. Some individual leaves have been removed along the way. At the beginning of week 8 of flowering, I will start to observe the trichomes more closely.

Hobbygrower97 Flowering week 7 went smoothly as well. Here and there, I removed a few leaves. I watered every other day with pH-regulated water between 6 and 7. A first look with the microscope at the buds showed that the two shouldn't need much longer than another week to reach my preferred ripeness.

Ernte an Blütetag 55 Ich bin super Happy mit dem Ergebnis. Die Main Buds sind schön kompakt und auch die weiter unter liegenden Blüten haben ordentlich trichome gebildet. Ich würde auf ca. 10-15 % Amber und ca. 5 % klare trichome schätzen. Umgebungsbedingungen: Temperatur ca. 20°C Luftfeuchtigkeit ca. 55% Das Ergebnis sowie ein Rauchbericht folgen sobald die Trocknung abgeschlossen ist. Ich schätze erfahrungsgemäß bei entsprechenden Umgebungsbedingungen auf eine Trockenzeit von etwa 12 Tagen. Edit nach Trocknung: Mit knapp 140 g Gesamtergebnis war das hier definitiv der ertragreichste run. Waren bei mir ja aber ich die größten Pflanzen bisher. Sichtbarer Unterschied der finalen Struktur der Blüten zwischen den beiden pflanzen. Die DryFerm Bags haben wieder mal ein deutlich hochwertigeres Endprodukt hervorgebracht. Leider hatte ich nicht genug für die gesamte Ernte. Geruch bisher bei beiden sehr zitronig, wobei bei den Bus mit mehr orangenen Fasern ein Hauch von süße und Erde im Unterton. Leider ein wenig zu lange getrocknet sodass die beiden linken gläser lediglich bei knapp 50 % RLF sind. Die beiden rechten bei ungefähr 56 % RLF. Vielleicht können die boveda Packs noch nachhelfen. Beim grinden merkt man die innere feuchte noch etwas. Im smoke dafür überraschend angenehm, nicht kratzig und das Aroma kommt schon leicht durch.
