Planted seed in germination station using 3x5 fabric pouch with coir / vermiculite blend filled up 75% of the way on 4/17 and seeds mostly seemed to sprout on 4/19. 4/20 they were all fully sprouted and moved out of germination station to start week 1. Used roughly 40% of recommended amount Schultz 10-15-10 (4/25-26) all purpose and Zen Strength (4/22). Started under 20w t12s while germinating, saturday thru monday 40w sansi full spectrum 18" away. Tuesday Optic 1 3500k 54W 30" away, instructions say 30" seedling, veg 24" and 18" flower. Worried that there were only the 4 leaves still by Thursday and reached out to a friend with much experience who said lower to 20" and that it won't burn them. Worried since it's first grow and went to 23". Noticed new set of leaves Friday morning and by 11pm they are looking good. 4/30 - Noticed 6 new leaves coming thru technically the next week journal and waited to check at end of week again. Moved light down to 20" from an angle or 17" actual distance at an angle a few inches diagonal from center. This is needed because of other plants in shorter pots set in the center at 20". Starting to let soil dry out a little more before watering. Sent video of plants swaying to friend who said make them sway more and moved fans a few inches closer which make a nice difference. Added heater blowing up into the fans path to warm the room up to 85c. This is only done when home and check temps every few hours. Lights are off 2-3 hours after roughly 18-24ish, a bit random with the off time. Not sure if it makes a difference, but figure it can't hurt. New pH meter and hygrometer arriving soon. Soil is FoxFarm Happy Frog mixed with Soil Moist granules, decent amount of Pearlite and small amount of Vermiculite. Biodegradable cloth pouch was put directly into 3 gal pot on 4/23. A bit too OCD and messed around with the starter pouch trying to remove it a bit and look into it for the roots. They were doing fine and probably just slowed the growth down, but it seems to be doing well. A note to never do this again, the plant is fine. Went with a tall style pot in hopes it will be better in a smaller space where I can go 70" high. Pot is 12H x 7W. This seedling started out very tall and has not been stretching, the other 3 in the same germination station were a bit shorter for whatever reason.

Not sure if the fan is enough right now. It's a small fan about 4 inches set a few feet away raised slightly above. It causes the plants to randomly sway a bit, but they aren't constantly moving all the time from it. Not strong enough for indirect airflow to make them move.

As long as you have some airflow in the space that's good. A little movement will help make it stronger like mrs. L mentioned...you just don't want it being thrashed around to where the plants distorting from too much air. You may want to add an additional fan later to keep up the air and move the moisture around etc. At this young stage they shouldn't need too much, unless you feel like the plants getting too hot(place your hand above it and you'll feel if its too hot and needs more airflow). Best of luck with the little babies.✌️

It looks like your friend was right, maybe the lights could be alittle closer...... But we will see soon, its tricky to say in that stage. You fan is big enough, a little moving is enough for her to fatten up the stems.Keep that track

@Mrs_Larimar, Thanks for the info. I have been growing various edible plants for a couple years, but these are the first cannabis plants. Just doing a bunch of reading and talking to a couple friends. It's always easier in theory until something goes wrong when everything is planned out and supposedly done the right way. Plant popped up 6 new leaves since I started this the other day.

@InfraredAlmondMilk, Like i said no worries atm.. its just the experiences i made with foxfarms. It sounds very well prepared how you act at all. and your soil mixes sound very good. personally me start with a very " poor mix" for the seedlings, and give them later into richer soil. Automatics i transfer after germinating in the final pot. the soil there is mixed . The inner circle is a poor mix and if she grows and get bigger she grows into a richer soil i think i showed it into my dark devil diary. But it seems you are experienced and know how and what to do Recycling of soil is possible.if you havent used to much fertilisers. or you go with a good washing and then mixing with " fresh soil. I havent done it by myself. because i got enough soil ( i mix it by my own) my used soil goes outdoor in my garden, i havent reused it for weed. but ive been reading a blog where they explained the recycling of soil. And i would wait, before you add any fertilisers to your plant, i think in flowering she will need some. or if she show defiencys i hope i understood your text and could respond accurately. english is not my origin language

@Mrs_Larimar, I considered that and was thinking the 3x5 bag of coir / vermiculite I germinated in would help offset too strong of a soil for a seedling. It shouldn't hit any of those nutrients until after the roots grow thru the bag which they were just starting to do once I put them in the pots. I almost went with a blend I use on all my other plants. Coir, compost, blood, kelp and bone meal, mykos, molasses, shredded pine bark, foxfarm happy frog soil amendment, pearlite, vermiculite, bamboo biochar. Didn't realize until recently this is basically supersoil w/o extra humic acid and time to bake. Added what was missing a week ago and have 20 gallons cooking. Also have about 15 gallons of the previous mix from last season of a couple plants that died over the winter, pulled the roots and it has been sitting. Maybe I can take all of this and cook it a bit into something to use for cannabis? It is all bug free and clean. I also almost went with a soil free coir base, but I was worried about having to add nutrients for an auto. It's not the supply, just worried about the perfect amount to add. I have a ton of high end nutrients. Do you think it would be better to just use all of this other stuff I have on the other plants? Still have 8 more feminized seeds.
