Easybudzzz The plants thrive best in standard potting soil with peat. A plant growing in 80% peat-free Presto humus and 20% peat-based soil also develops very well. The freshly repotted ayahuasca is also developing well with easyBudZ peat-free.The light spots are from the treatment against thrips.

Easybudzzz The fifth week is over and all the plants have now been topped. I've started some training and covered the soil around the plants with the peat-free soil mix with hemp mulch. They are still simply watered with tap water and the lamps run at a total of 80 watts.

Easybudzzz I'm currently reducing the light duration slowly in 0.5-hour increments, starting from 14 hours. The two Ayahuasca Purple and the Purple Urkle are doing great. One Purple Punch and one Ayahuasca Purple have been removed. The Neudorff soil without peat didn't really worked for one of them and the other one was just really slow. However, the neudorff soil worked perfectly for a friend with lighter fabric pots and older plants. I bought 2 space cookies from Paradies seeds. I'll see how they can keep Up.

Easybudzzz I've now reached 12 hours of light. The plants are doing great. I've spread mulch around the remaining plants and I'm keeping the soil moisture between 30-40 percent. The ayahuasca purple in the peat-free soil is showing noticeably darker leaves and more stretch, but doesn't appear over-fertilized. The lights are running at 90 watts and will remain at that level for now to avoid complicating the transition to flowering.

Easybudzzz Everything is going according to plan at the moment. The ayahuasca purple in the peat-free pot is growing faster and has more stretch so far.

Easybudzzz I think the reason the Presto Hummus works better is that the Presto Humus provides the dense biological infrastructure (microbes and complex organic matter) needed for the rapid conversion of the organic fertilizers into available Nitrogen. The pure Light Mix lacked this strong microbial "engine," causing an N-availability lag, even though the nutrients are present. I'm going to try to add some compost next time. Or these light mixes containing peat are generally inadequate for supporting a long-term living soil environment. Although this soil, based on experience, always gets better after re-use. Despite the high nutrient density, the plants show virtually no signs of nutrient burn or glossy leaves.

Easybudzzz The Ayahuasca Purple in the peat-free soil is still full of nutrients. With this combination, I would give it a little less next time. The other ayahuasca purple and purple urkle are slowly running low. One of the Space Cookies plants stretched a lot, but has large gaps between the buds. In case anyone is wondering why I'm keeping the plants so small overall, the tent is only 120cm high, and I want to complete three grows before summer. The light is currently at 200 watts.

Easybudzzz The plants are maturing slowly. This slow fade-out is desirable because it maximizes terpene and THC production. (bugbee, ...) I released Orius bugs onto the plants. So far, I haven't seen any more thrips. Regular predatory mites never completely solved the problem for me.
