Greybeardbud Start of veg week 2, impressed with how they are doing and seem to be tracking well. Have raised the fert to 2ml/l for coco+ a/b. Plants have developed a faint smell. Will be starting lst in 1 week and transplanting into 38 litre cloth pots, still contemplating on just going directly to 50 litre. Transplanted 1 into 38 litre pot, definitely not ready for transplanting am holding off on the rest Have added silica to the transplanted plant as an add on Room photo taken 4 days after individual pictures as a comparison

Greybeardbud All but 1 plants transferred to final 38 litre pots. 2-3 plants slightly slower than the rest but have well defined leaders. have introduced silica into the nutes and have adjusted ph to approximately 5.8. Have 1 plant showing signs of ph imbalance or nute lock tested non adjusted nute water at ph 5, (adjusted up), runoff is testing at ph 6.5 (expected to be higher so not concerned), will need to get a ph/ec pen when funds allow otherwise everything seems to be on track for great growth Photo 2 showing I suspect signs of magnesium fade, have corrected ph and keeping up with normal feed to runoff, all others showing no signs of deficiencies Have removed silica from feeds as caused a nutrient lockout on calcium and magnesium, heavy flush with ph 5.6 water and reduced coco a/b with runoff of ph6.0, plants have responded well and swiftly within 24 hours they had started rapid growth again and leaves have darkened. Might reintroduce silica later but not without supplemental calmag. Will be topping the main colas on the weekend and introducing some lst next week Never dull

Greybeardbud Back on track everything looks fine. Ph runoff stable at 6.3 feeding twice daily now 1.5L in morning 1L evening. Have reintroduced silica at a reduced 2ml per 25 litre. Attempted some lst with plastic clips and did a lot of damage removing so will not be using them again. Am happy to just top and tuck for now till we are ready for trimming. Greybeardbud Defoliation happened mid week before a trip away for a few days got home today to see they have just popped. Growing very nicely even the little one that was pegged down to spread it out. Plants ranging from 20cm to 35cm and all looking very happy with themselves. They have also been getting some 90’s grunge music that apparently they dance along to

Greybeardbud Just flipped to 12-12 with 90cm from canopy to light we shouldn’t have too much issue, plants are mostly around 45-48cm at this stage Day 1 (12 hrs dark) of 12-12 shows growth of between 1-3cm per plant will remeasure at end of light cycle. 24 hours all plants have stacked on 2-4cm on day 1 of flip It appears that defoliation is required as these indica dom plants just get thicker and thicker overnight. These were heavily trimmed 6 days ago from the bottom and the top, good problem to have they say. These are a feminised indica 90% sativa 10% I was expecting at this stage to be shorter and tighter. We have 3 in the short compact types the other 6 are considerably larger but all seem extremely happy Day 2 of flip all the girls had a hairdresser appointment. And 1 met the assassin. 8 girls still going but the very small one got the yank she was not looking well once we started trimming

Greybeardbud Had a few issues this week mostly with ph runoff, was very high at 8.5 (had been on the rise for a little while given that I have been time poor and a lack of energy this was put on the I’ll do it tomorrow list). Picked up some drip clean and reset the coco. Now getting runoff at 6.4 and improving. The girls have been growing this week some more than others but overall I’m pretty happy with the progress shortest being 36cm tallest 67cm with most averaging 53-55cm. Picked up 2 more fans to keep the air moving and will be hopefully doing some restructuring of the tent to help reduce this humidity and potentially relocating 4 of the girls into the 1.5x1.5 tent to give them all some extra room Other than that just maintaining the light into the plants and trimming where required all be it in stages when time allows Potentially too late in this grow but have moved over to filtered water to remove chlorine, tds remains at 87 for tap water and filtered water but filtered there is 0 chlorine Have dialled up the lights from 45%/45%0% to 45% veg 60% bloom 0% uv for another 6 days if all is looking good will ramp to 60% veg 80% bloom for week 10 and checking for light stress. Have an overlap of 20cm in the hellion vs3 lights which is going to give the centre a bit of punishment. Also looking into putting some co2 grow bags into the tent so the plants can handle the extra light. After 12 hours of increased light there does not appear to be any light stress yet Wednesday 28-Jan - pre flowers have appeared! 1 1/2 weeks into flip 7/8 plants have pistils 1 more to go and I can worry less that there’s a rooster amongst the hens hiding amongst the forest. Have obtained a 20L/day dehumidifier currently stable lights off 25’c 63% lights on 28’c 63% which is a massive improvement from the crazy 80-90%rh we did have. Plants have responded extremely well with their new climate and are well into their stretch (moreso since they have been able to breathe) day 21 defoliation is going to be a big job

Greybeardbud Start of week 10 am amazed at their transition, gave them a light trim last night to allow some light through. All 8 have pistils but we have 1 that is developing slower with only a few on it, the rest are covered in pre flowers. Have increased feeding to 3L per day and barely getting any runoff. Gradually increasing the volume to achieve 10-20%. It appears that once everything is dialled in they get hungry! Increased feeding to 4 litres daily 6 out of 8 plants had less than 50ml runoff, next feed will increase to 5L, the other 2 I will keep at 4L as they had good runoff. PH was on the higher side on the smaller ones so will do a drip clean mix to flush out the salts May have a male or hermie in there not sure yet I thought I’d seen pistils but not so sure now… while the others are covered in pre flowers this one just isn’t the same.. who knows maybe a late bloomer? Confirmed 24 hrs later definitely a rooster in the hen house. Chopped his neck! Started with 10.. now 7 remain. Silver linings is the girls have more breathing room now

Greybeardbud Ok so far we have managed to save 2 plants from the dreaded hermie, both are doing really well I’m satisfied that they are ok. Ph runoff is 5.8, feeding 5.8 so no buffering in the coco, no salts buildup. I have more than a feeling that the hermie problem was my fault. Ph pen was out of calibration. By a lot. They were being fed somewhere in the vicinity of ph 2.5-3 daily for about a week, I should have realised when ph lower started increasing but didn’t. We learnt the hard way. Have ordered a Vivosun aerolush c08 to help with the higher temps we are experiencing hopefully it will do the job of the current portable air conditioner and dehumidifier and we can get that temp down to a max of 24 to help with everything that has not appeared yet like the trichomes. They look so lonely in that big tent but I have more than enough room now to have a seat and take some time to inspect

Greybeardbud Finally able to control the environment better, the 32c 95% outside weather plays havoc with the tent, humidity is still higher than I want but for now it seems to be doing the job. Running 4 fans in there to keep the air moving around. Am pretty impressed with the aerolush c08. It has our vpd in a good range. The plants seem very content with the change, smell has increased, they are getting very sticky and the frosting is building nicely

Greybeardbud Last week has been fairly hands off due to time vs. energy, did create a somewhat scrog net to support the taller plant and did some lst on the shorter bushier plant to get some light and airflow into the center. Broke a head off running the scrog so dried it, my partner got to try it last night. She approves and is excited about the finished product. Much better than the weed she is currently getting from local suppliers so I’m happy with the result (she smokes I don’t) the aerolush c08 seems to have made a massive difference to our environment

Greybeardbud Getting to the end, estimate 7-10 days till flush. The smaller one is further ahead of the taller one but we are holding off and harvesting both at the same time. I suspect the product from the smaller plant will have a considerable couch lock effect. Both plants had buds snap off while being moved (1 each) and were dried for my partner to “have a sample” which she wasn’t sad about. She says the shorter plant is a much creamier smoke but both were smooth and she is excited to try out the final product TDS was lowered from 1115 to 920 for the next 4 days to start tapering off and prepare for the flush

Greybeardbud Gave them a corrective flush tonight to drop salts from 1200ppm to 700ppm then fed 5L to each of 620ppm. End result salts have been flushed out to push the final 2 weeks of stacking and finishing. Broke 3 more buds off moving them around for which I’m cranky about but the mrs gets a bit more of an early “test” first bud I broke off went from 10.3g to 2.6g smokes smooth with almost no cough and hits fairly well. Trichomes are roughly 80% milky on the taller one with some ambers appearing on the shorter one.
