Harry_Pothead Update:
The plant only arrived after 6 days because it was misdirected by DHL. Hanfgartenshop was more than willing to send me a replacement...
I was quite surprised at how big the plant is and that it seems to have survived the ordeal (photo). So far, everything is good! Thank you very much, Hanfgartenshop!
I just ordered a PLANT "Strawberry Guava" from Hanfgartenshop. Hanfgartenshop states a delivery size of 20-40 cm for plants, and I'm really curious about what will be delivered since 👉 I only have experience with cuttings and seeds so far...
I'm assigning the following experiment to the strain:
In my plastic greenhouse, there is a second plastic greenhouse where I will place a 40x40 grow box with standard equipment plus a heating mat. I will insulate the grow box a bit more with a blanket on the sides and the bottom with cardboard (until I get my hands on some Styrofoam). I will direct the humid air outside. No idea if this will work. I think it will start around December 1st.
…I dare the experiment because I also want to grow in winter! In my current living situation, the indoor grow box is always tied to some restrictions, and since I'm not dependent on a lot of yield or perfect success, I thought, "screw the convention. With this experiment, I’ll sweeten the dark and dreary winter time"…
Actually, I planned the above experiment with the strain Wedding Cake, but then I changed my plans when I discovered this "Cali Limited Strain" at Hanfgartenshop.

Harry_Pothead Here we go 🙌
... With the LST, I immediately broke a shoot and gave a nice bend to the little plant 🤦♂️🙄. I think the bend won't cause any lasting damage. I fixed it right away, as always, with Pattafix...
With the second plant, a free seed came along. Outstanding customer service at Hanfgartenshop. Thank you very much!

Harry_Pothead The plants have grown well in the last seven days, I think. Whenever I checked, the temperature and humidity were completely fine. Today I defoliated the plants and trained them to the net. Everything's great 👌

Harry_Pothead So far, everything is working great and I haven't had to check the cabinet every day. Today, at the start of the third week on the balcony, I fertilized for the first time with BioBizz Grow... I will be generously defoliating throughout the entire cycle so that the air in the cabinet can circulate as well as possible. Below the trellis and later about 1 cm above it, I keep everything bare. I think I'll stay in the growth cycle for another two weeks... But we'll see 🤷🏼👀

Harry_Pothead Unfortunately, the light cycle has been changed. Probably one of the kids turned off the power by flipping the corresponding switch in the apartment. I've now taped it down with Tesa. I think I'll wait another week before changing the light cycle. The plant looks healthy and well-fed with nutrients...

Harry_Pothead Today I switched to the 12/12 rhythm and hope the plants continue to look so vibrant…. When it was -6 degrees outside, it was about 16 degrees in the tent. Amazing how the plants still produce… The humidity fluctuates between 60% and 78%, depending on whether the exhaust is running or not… The photo was taken quickly, and I definitely want to defoliate in the coming days…
A higher new year to you lovely growers out there 🍀

Harry_Pothead The plants are stretching now and it will be exciting to see how tall they grow until the flowering starts 🧐
Temperature and humidity have always been fine whenever I checked...
I take out leaves every one to two days and keep everything airy.

Harry_Pothead The shoots keep stretching unchanged, and I'm optimistic that the flowering will start soon. I'm defoliating as generously as I've never dared to before, which is in itself a little experiment within the experiment...

Harry_Pothead The flowering has begun, and according to the breeder, it should take about 8-9 weeks until harvest. Yesterday, I removed a lot of leaves and some small shoots; I bent the longest shoots to the side to achieve a more uniform height.

Harry_Pothead The plants are doing quite well and aren't really causing any trouble..
… Today, when I opened the tent, a very strong sweet strawberry-grape cannabis smell hit me.

Harry_Pothead The flower buds emit a strong smell that is very pleasant, smelling fruity like strawberry and grape. So far, I don't see any major disadvantages that could have arisen from the plant's location on the balcony... Just the slightly increased electricity consumption... The plants look healthy and show no nutrient deficiencies...

Harry_Pothead The smell is still a true experience, and the flowering is picking up speed. The leaves show no signs of deficiency, and the massive defoliation doesn't seem to have harmed the plant at all.

Harry_Pothead Everything is okay and unchanged.
It's becoming increasingly clear that the two girls probably have different mothers. One of the plants seems to be further along or has a firmer texture. You can see it pretty well in the photos.

Harry_Pothead The experiment is nearing the finish line and it seems to be successful. I think the slightly larger plant can be harvested in 7-10 days. The other one will definitely need another 14 days... That works out great because I can then bring in the autos in the tent...
...the buds have a strong aroma and are firm and compact....

Harry_Pothead I took the more advanced plant out of the tent and flushed it... it's ready for harvest. The second plant still needs a few more days, but soon it will be ready too...

Harry_Pothead The last hour has struck and after 14 days with water, the plant is now being harvested and the tent is being cleaned, so that the next cultivation finds space…
The aroma and the flower texture are different from the first harvested plant. I have already wondered if there could have been a mix-up and I raised a cuckoo egg…
The aroma is bubblegum-like and I also smell Melissa. If I had to settle on a fruit note for an aroma, it would be cherry…
Harry_Pothead No idea what result I had with "wet buds," I never weigh that. But when dry, it was 37 g...
From my perspective, the experiment was a success. The second plant, which stayed in the tent for two weeks longer, developed a nice aroma in the home stretch. However, it differs from the first plant, and I keep the buds separate so I can evaluate them individually.
Thanks a lot for the comment ✌️😀
…I wouldn't have thought that you can plant outside at -8 degrees, and who knows,… maybe I'll do it on a larger scale next winter…
Great choice.. awesome plant.
It probably won't be the prettiest from the grow. But bag appeal and performance when smoking are absolutely amazing..
Lots of 🍀 on the journey...
@Oims_Finest, Mine still has almost 4 weeks left, but I have to agree with you. The extreme terps coming off it make me hopeful that it will be one of the best ladies this year in terms of the "loudness" of the terps. Sweet fruit bubblegum with a strong gas note that usually comes later. I have very high expectations for the Straw. Guava.
Heyy, yeah, this is an experiment and I'm optimistic that it won't be unsuccessful. There's a heating mat in there that would actually belong under a terrarium. The mat is also great for germinating seeds and rooting cuttings. I think it cost under 20 €.
@Harry_Pothead, oh nice that it's already working out 💪🏼 I also have one germinating in Jiffys. Does the temperature stay constant in the tent even though it gets colder at night? 😯
It's crazy how much the warm temperature positively affects the plants during the root and germination phase.
Yeah, I think they're doing well in the tent even with fluctuating outside temperatures. The tent is in 2 greenhouses, and I think that's important for it to work. I've always had around 18-21 degrees and 65-70% humidity when I've checked at different temperatures.
At -8 degrees, it was 16 degrees in the tent, and the plants maintained their growth.
I'm also really impressed by the Str.G. Terps. One downside would be the stretch. Without support from the net, I would have big problems. But the smell coming from them is amazing.
So as everyone praised, the Strawberry Guava has developed into a terp monster and still has almost 4 weeks to get even more extreme. And this isn't even a selected cut, but the first of 12 seeds from the new restock of Bloom Seed co. Good luck, Growmie.
Strawberry Guava won't win any beauty contests, but the terps wow, they're absolutely insane. It dominates the whole tent with the super delicious terps.
