RecordSet Starting my second grow! I'll stick with autos to avoid transplants and switching the light schedule, but this time I'll have the challenge of growing two different strains, one THC and one CBD. Wish me luck! 🍀
2025/11/26 - Began germination using this "Germinator Pro" thing, which is just a plastic petri dish with two cotton discs and 1% hydrogen peroxide.
2025/11/28 - Both seeds successfully germinated! 🎊 Planted both in the final 3 Gallon pots, which were prepared with 0,5 liters of water each with 0,3 CalMag. For soil media, I'll continue to use BioBizz Light-Mix in this grow, since I'm trying to use the rest of their nutrient pack.

RecordSet 2025/12/01 - Both seedlings sprouted but SPACBD had a helmet-head issue, which required to remove the seed shell from it using a toothpick. I also needed to bury the root since it was curled up and exposed to air.
2025/12/02 - SPACBD is alive for now! Cotyledons are slowly opening and the initial leaf set is starting to grow. 🎉
2025/12/04 - Quick update, ChatGPT is a hero, the manual intervention saved SPACBD! The seedling is growing normally, cotyledons are now fully open and the initial leaf set is also developing well.

RecordSet 2025/12/08 - I'm continuing the water schedule with CalMag each 2 days. While the SPACBD made it, its development is about one week prior to WW, even though they were both planted in the same day. For now I can only hope that's able to catch up!

RecordSet 2025/12/15 - A new week starts! WW is picking up some steam with 3 nodes and looks ready for her first nutrients next watering. SPACBD on the other hand is very stumped, I can only hope that she catches up during the next weeks. Also, I bought a humidifier and can't wait to use it, humidity is within levels but all over the place, so I'm trying to stabilize it.

RecordSet 2025/12/22 - A new veg week begins, and I am now sure: I hate LST. I always end up breaking a leaf or a young stem, I feel really awkward tying them down, and they look really clunky. It turned out great during my last grow, but I despise doing it. On the upside, one of the girls smells like lemon! 🍋

RecordSet 2025/12/29 - My LST skills are not that great, again I was unable to make a flat canopy. Yesterday I lost my fear and defoliated WW a bit! They are now both the same height somehow, and SPACBD even started opening her calyxes sooner than WW. Nonetheless, I'm not expecting a great yield from her, only time will tell.

RecordSet 2025/01/12 - So, they're not that healthy. WW is yellowing and has a bunch of brown spots, I suspect that this is due to light intensity since I've rule out everything else. SPACBD on the other hand was seemingly having a nitrogen excess last week due to clawing and heavy green color. It is now also starting to yellow. The other thing that I've learned is that both drink different amounts of water, SPACBD has fungus gnats and can be up to 3 days without needing water. Both are now being watered every 3 days.

RecordSet 2026/01/19 - I spent the entire week figuring out what went wrong for them to starting yellowing and getting blotted brown spots. I've narrowed it down to the following possibilites:
1. Overwatering caused nutrient lockout due to overfeeding. The lesson I learned the most with this grow is that they do not like to be watered in a schedule.
2. Nitrogen deficiency. This could be possible, since I am giving a conservative dosage according to Bio-Bizz feeding schedule.
3. Potassium deficiency. The leaf patterns look a lot like this, I noticed the problems started on the pre-flowering week. Maybe they started craving K hard and led to it, but it's unlikely.
4. pH imbalance. I think this is likely, but then again, I am religiously measuring pH to 6.2-6.5 after adding nutes, so I'm not even sure how this is possible.
Last week I started letting them dry out, which might have helped with the symptoms. I had the choice to either flush them, or let them dry out for an extra day and continuing to increase Potassium. I went with the latter. Clearly the problem was not light proximity, this can be excluded for now.
Funilly though, SPACBD which was way behind turned out to be the most healthier so far. Fun fact, I can see larvae (which I assume to be fungus gnats) floating and squiggling when I feed her. WW on the other hand is really unhealthy, bud development basically halted during last week. I think letting her dry was a good call, but we'll see.
A user recommended measuring runoff PH. I want to do this, but I don't have a good recipent to gather the runoff water, so I'll just go with my instincts.
I had it really easy with my first grow for sure.

RecordSet 2026/01/26 - I thought that WW was getting stunted, but actually it's from the strain itself. Pyramid's White Widow has been released around 10 years ago, there some very old grows here on GD. It looks like this strain has a quite longer flowering period than more recent ones. I attribute it to both genetics, and being a Sativa. I've bought a second smaller tent just to dry SPACBD, looking forward to set it up once it arrives.

RecordSet 2026/02/02 - Looking to harvest SPACBD by the end of the week, trychomes are looking milky and I'm not going with amber for this one. WW is slowly developing, but steady! Her yield won't be that great, but better than I was expecting given the overwatering.

RecordSet 2026/02/09 - WW continues to flower normally. Even when using nutes on the safe side, way lower than what BioBizz recommends, she is definitely being overfed, almost all leaves are curled in and crispy :(
Still, I love her shape and symmetry, and the fact that it's way less bushy than SPACBD. She's clearly a Sativa, no doubt!
RecordSet 2026/02/09 - Harvest day for SPACBD! It's amazing that a seed that was struggling so hard to veg still ended up producing something significant.
Yesterday she had curled pistils, resinous and bulky texture, pungent smell, and most of the trichomes were milky white. Almost didn't see any amber trichome, but I decided to harvest her on the early side since other growers mentioned she tends to convert to a hermie.
Will revert back in two weeks after dry trimming to report back the final yield! WW grow continues throughout the next weeks!
