Germination

OB-GYN-Kenobi Scored some seeds direct from Cannarado, the full genetics are... (ChemD x O. Haze) x (ChemD x ChemSis) ...and meant to mimic some old-school Chemdawg. This is only my second grow so I'm a little intimidated by the "Height: Tall" warning on the package, but I'm hoping to train and mainline her low enough to compensate. I germinated two seeds with the plan to eventually transplant the best one. First a soak in a glass of water until they sank, then layered inside moist paper towel, placed in a plastic bag, and left in a warm, dark place. The seeds quickly popped, and they were placed in red solo cups filled with Fox Farms Coco Loco. The first and more lively seed broke the surface right away, but her seed coat and membrane stayed put. After more than 24 hours with still on, I had to help her out a bit. The resulting first node looks pretty asymmetrical, we'll see how that impacts things. The second seed was a lot more sluggish, but it too emerged from the soil, and managed to drop the seed coat on her own.

OB-GYN-Kenobi This is being grown side-by-side with my LTP bag seed (see the separate diary for that). I've also got that other Chemdawg seedling going, and only one spot in the 7 gallon pot, so we'll see when it comes time to transplant who wins. That said, things aren't looking great here. After needing considerable help emerging from the seed husk, this Chemdawg has been growing lopsided, with a strong side and a weak side. She's also started doing the Lean. I managed to repair that - first with a bit of drinking straw, then by just filling up the cup with more soil - but this is not the best showing out of the gate. Her second node is looking a bit more normal, hopefully she'll grow out of her weirdness. Tent stats: - Lights: started the week around 220 PPFD, ramped to 300 by end of week. - Temps: seedling heat mat kept in the mid-80s (30 C). - Humidity: VPD has been set to 0.6 kPa.
