Catawbiense Strain & Objective This time I'm growing 5× Frosted Guava from Original Sensible Seeds again. The genetics are known for a robust hybrid structure, early growth, and strong terpene-rich buds. The goal is to create an even, flat SCROG canopy with early topping and clean LST to maximize the entire 80×80 cm area. 📅 Start & Germination The seeds were planted directly into moistened seedling soil on November 27. Germination occurs without pre-soaking to avoid root stress. The first Frosted Guavas have sprouted quickly and are currently developing compact, healthy seedling structures. Setup – Tent & Climate Tent: 80×80×180 cm Soil mix (later): Gold Label Light Mix in 18L pots Current climate: Temperature and humidity are in the optimal range for early growth. Passive and active airflow for stem stabilization. No heat spikes or direct drying out. 💡 Lighting The grow starts with: 2× HG 100W LED (dimmed to ~50%) 1× Hortione 368 (130W) (also ~50%) All lights are currently about 45 cm above the plant positions, ideal for the seedling and early veg phase. Next week, the lighting will be completely changed: 👉 Mars Hydro E3000 (300W) will be used as the only main light. The HG & Hortione will then be taken down.

Catawbiense The plants have handled the repotting into the 18-liter final pots without any significant stress and are showing a quick, stable adjustment to the larger root volume. One of the Frosted Guavas is currently taking up noticeably more water than the others and was briefly a bit drier, but this falls well within the normal range of individual root growth. All the plants are developing very compactly, with short internodes and the first side shoots already visibly forming. This growth pattern confirms my impression that the Frosted Guava will be an ideal candidate for a SCROG under the Mars Hydro E3000: stout, stable in form, and easy to train. The main goal of this run is to find the keeper pheno from my last run again. This plant is to be selected as a mother plant and preserved for the next grow.

Catawbiense The 5 Frosted Guavas are stable in 18L Gold Label. One is a bit smaller, so topping will wait until the Mars Hydro E3000 arrives, so it can catch up first. Additionally, there are 2 White Raspberry Truffle as backups in the tent. Lighting is running at ~195 W (2× Honguan at 50%, Hortione at ~70%). The growth is compact and healthy. As soon as the new lamp is hung, all will be topped at the same time for an even canopy. More updates to follow ✌️🌱

Catawbiense **Vegetation Week 4 (Summary)** Week 4 of vegetation has started today. Stable vegetative phase with active meristem regeneration after topping. High leaf turgidity, healthy internode length, and even chlorophyll production. Beginning LST in the SCROG net to reduce apical dominance and promote lateral shoot development. No visible stress reactions, optimal conditions for filling the space with growth.

Catawbiense 🌱 Veg Week 5 – Recovery & Preparation for the Flip Veg Week 5 was a bit bumpy. During a few days of absence, the plants got too dry, combined with 24h LED light, which led to slight stress and CalMag deficiency (uneven leaf color, many small bud sites). After adjustments: Switched to 18/6 Light slightly toned down CalMag application Light lollipopping & defoliation Already after a few days, the plants show a clear recovery: new growth is vibrant, shoots are getting stronger, and the plants overall look more relaxed. The tent is well filled, and no further training measures are planned. The stretch should take care of the rest. The flip to flowering is planned for the next few days, as soon as the recovery is fully completed.

Catawbiense The switch to 12/12 happened this week. The plants have recovered well from the CalMag deficiency and are already showing pre-flowering. Growth is strong, and the leaf color is healthy. The SCROG net has been lowered, and the shoots are being gently guided under the net to achieve an even canopy. Two plants are a bit taller. Currently, I'm feeding with 1ml/L of BioGrow, BioBloom, and Calmag (pH 6.2). On day 21 of flowering, there will be some proper lollipopping and moderate defoliation. So far, I'm very satisfied. I'm curious about the stretch; in the last grow, the Frosted Guavas didn't stretch much. However, the conditions are better now. No fungus gnats, a more efficient light, and a more stable climate.

Catawbiense The girls are currently in the final stretch of the stretch phase. I'm kind of torn. A nice, even canopy has developed. It seems like there will be many medium-sized buds. I made a slight light deprivation cut on the weakest bud sites. Many small shoots were competing for light.

Catawbiense Day 21 of flowering. Today, the light was increased from 90% to 100%, so 300w. I did some serious lollipopping and removed some annoying leaves. The canopy is very even. However, I'm bothered that many small weak side shoots have formed over the past few weeks; some of them were removed with a defoliation cut. I hope to at least get some medium-sized buds from this (:

Catawbiense The 4th week of flowering is coming to an end. The plants are doing well so far. Next week I'll start with the PK 13/14. Probably 2 watering sessions. It's gradually starting to smell really nice. I hope nothing goes wrong now. The goal is to keep the temperature and humidity constant. The plant closest to the intake opening is already showing a bit of purple.

Catawbiense The fifth week of flowering has begun. During the last watering yesterday, I used 1 ml/l pk1314. For the next watering, I will use pk 13/14 again. Next week, I will increase the Topmax dose to 3 ml/l. The plants look a bit yellow because I stopped using Biogrow too early. But I prefer that over leafy buds. There is a lot of resin, especially one phenotype that is heavily sugared. The buds won't be the thickest, but I'm satisfied so far.

Catawbiense The plants are currently sucking up an average of 1.5 liters of nutrient solution daily. PK13/14 was discontinued after two applications. Topmax for flowering week 6 has been increased to 3 ml/l. Weeks 7+8 will only receive pH-regulated water. As of now, it looks like the purple lady is the first one ready for harvest. The other 3 ladies seem to be more in the 8-9 weeks flowering phase.
