DaveJohnson Week 4 of Veg is going pretty good. Gorilla Z #1- the strongest plant so far. The growth has been going well however I did have some yellowing leaves at the bottom and the top leaves starting to get the lime green/pale color. I ended up defoliating the lower leaves and gave her a feeding of the general hydroponic trio (micro, grow, and bloom) and Cal Mag. 1/2 tsp of each nute for the feeding. Shes starting to transition to pre-flower. Gorilla Z #2-veg is in full swing. I gave her the same nute as the other plants. Hopefully, we don’t have any yellowing of leaves for the upcoming week. Heisenberg- plant is looking good so far. Better than the last run of this strain. My last run I topped the plant early on but I felt like that stunted her growth. This time I just let her veg out. However I did notice some spots on a couple of leaves. I’m hoping the nute mix with cal mag helps alleviate that issue Switched the light schedule to 20/4

DaveJohnson Week 5: Veg/Pre-Flower Transition - The Girls Are Thriving! 🌱 We're at a pivotal point in the grow, with one plant making the leap into pre-flower while the others continue their vegetative explosion. Here's how each lady is progressing: Gorilla Z #1 - Leading the Charge into Pre-Flower She's officially transitioning! Over the past two weeks, Gorilla Z #1 has been showing those telltale pre-flower signs. Last week's strategic defoliation and light lollipopping have set her up beautifully for what's coming next. Feeding Schedule: First watering: 10 cups plain water, pH 6.5 Second watering: Full strength nutrients 1 tsp General Hydroponics Trio 1/2 tsp Cal-Mag 1/2 tsp Liquid Kool Bloom (getting her ready for flower!) pH adjusted to 6.8 The slightly higher pH on the nutrient feed helps with calcium and magnesium uptake during this critical transition phase. Heisenberg - Vegetative Powerhouse This girl responded beautifully to last week's light defoliation—the growth has been explosive! She's still in late veg, building that structure we'll need for heavy bud production. Feeding Schedule: Friday: 8 cups plain water, pH 6.5 Monday: 8 cups nutrient solution 1/2 tsp General Hydroponics Trio 1/2 tsp Cal-Mag pH 6.5 The lighter nutrient concentration is keeping her growing strong without pushing her into flower before she's ready. Gorilla Z #2 - Catching Up Fast Also in late veg, and just like Heisenberg, she's put on impressive growth following her defoliation. These autoflowers really respond well to strategic pruning! Feeding Schedule: Monday only: 8 cups nutrient solution 1/2 tsp General Hydroponics Trio 1/2 tsp Cal-Mag pH 6.5 She didn't need watering as frequently this week—always good to let the soil dry out between waterings for optimal root development.

DaveJohnson Week 6: Late Veg & Flowering - Learning Through Challenges 💪 This week brought some hard lessons in watering discipline and plant management. Not every week goes perfectly, and that's part of the learning process. Here's the real, unfiltered update: Gorilla Z #1 - Overwatering & Recovery Mode She's in flower and was progressing well until I made a critical mistake this week. After defoliating some of the lower bud sites on Wednesday to improve airflow, I fed and then re-watered too soon. Feeding Schedule: First feeding: 10 cups nutrient solution 1 tsp General Hydroponics Trio 1/2 tsp Cal-Mag 1/2 tsp Liquid Kool Bloom pH 6.7 Wednesday: Defoliated lower buds, Sunday: re-watered with same mix (mistake!) The Problem: Overwatering led to rust spots appearing on the leaves—classic signs of stress and potentially a lockout from saturated soil preventing proper oxygen to the roots. Recovery Steps Taken: Treated with Monterey Neem Oil (for any potential secondary issues) Dropped tent humidity to 40% to help soil dry out faster Now waiting for soil to properly dry before next watering Lesson learned: Let the soil dry between waterings, even during flower. The plant will tell you when it needs water—lift the pot! Gorilla Z #2 - Severe Overwatering Incident This one hurts. She was doing beautifully in late veg, and I got too aggressive with watering. What Happened: Monday: 8 cups with 1/2 tsp GH Trio + light defoliation ✓ Sunday: Added 10 cups of water (BIG MISTAKE) Way too much water, way too soon. She's been wilted since Sunday—the classic droopy, sad look of an overwatered plant. Recovery Steps Taken: Removed the worst affected leaves to reduce stress on the plant Treated with Neem Oil as a precaution Allowing soil to dry out completely before next watering Monitoring closely for recovery signs Lesson learned: 10 cups was far too much, especially after just watering on Monday. Should have waited at least 3-4 days and checked soil moisture first. Heisenberg - New Home, New Hope The survivor! After losing one of my other plants to an unfortunate dog incident (RIP), Heisenberg got promoted to the Spider Farmer tent. Feeding Schedule: Monday: 8 cups 1/2 tsp GH Trio 1/2 tsp Cal-Mag pH 6.5 The Silver Lining: She's doing well and now has more space to stretch out. Sometimes good things come from unfortunate situations! Key Observations & Hard Lessons This week was a masterclass in what NOT to do: Don't re-water immediately after defoliation - Plants need recovery time and less water when they have fewer leaves transpiring Lift your pots - The weight test is your best friend. Light = needs water. Heavy = wait Patience is crucial - When in doubt, wait another day before watering Overwatering is worse than underwatering - Plants can recover from slight drought much faster than oxygen-starved roots Recovery Plan: No watering until pots feel light Monitor daily for signs of recovery (leaves perking back up) Lower nutrient strength on next feeding to reduce stress Consider adding perlite to soil mix on future grows for better drainage Next week's goal: Get both Gorilla Z plants back on track, let Heisenberg thrive in her new home, and practice better watering discipline. We learn more from mistakes than perfect weeks! Stay tuned—these girls are resilient! 🌿💚 Real talk: This is what growing looks like sometimes. Don't get discouraged by setbacks—every mistake is a lesson that makes you a better grower.

DaveJohnson Week 7: Flowering Progress - Steady Bulking & Light Intensity Boost 🌸 A relatively quiet week in the best way possible—the girls are doing their thing without drama. After last week's overwatering lessons, we're back on track with steady progress across the board. Gorilla Z #1 - Bulking Up Nicely She's putting on weight! The buds are filling out and getting denser by the day. Recovery from the overwatering incident is complete, and she's focused entirely on flower production now. Feeding Schedule: 1/2 strength General Hydroponics Bloom formula Cal-Mag Liquid Kool Bloom pH 6.7 The half-strength feeding is the sweet spot—giving her what she needs without risking nutrient burn during this critical bulking phase. Gorilla Z #2 - Welcome to Pre-Flower! She's officially made the transition! Pre-flower pistils are showing, and the stretch is beginning. This is where things get exciting—she'll bulk up quickly over the next few weeks. Feeding Schedule: 1/2 strength General Hydroponics Bloom formula Cal-Mag Liquid Kool Bloom pH 6.7 Switched her to the bloom formula now that she's in pre-flower. The transition nutrients will support both the stretch and early bud development. Heisenberg - Thriving in the Spider Farmer Tent She's loving her new home! Flower development is progressing beautifully, and she's handling the increased light intensity like a champ. Feeding Schedule: 1/2 strength General Hydroponics Bloom formula Cal-Mag Liquid Kool Bloom Light Intensity: Bumped up to 80% on the SF3000! The increased light is really making a difference—tighter node spacing and more vigorous bud development. She's showing no signs of stress at this intensity, which means she's utilizing every photon. Key Observations & Adjustments The calm after the storm: After last week's overwatering challenges, this week has been beautifully uneventful. Sometimes boring is exactly what you want in a grow! All three plants are now on the same bloom-focused feeding schedule at half strength. This conservative approach is paying off—healthy green leaves, no nutrient burn, and steady bud development. The light increase on Heisenberg to 80% is a calculated move. At this stage of flower, more light = more energy for bud production. The SF3000 at 80% is delivering serious intensity without overwhelming her. Watering discipline maintained: Lifting pots before watering, waiting for proper dry-back. No repeats of last week's mistakes! Next Week's Plan Continue monitoring bud development on Gorilla Z #1 Watch Gorilla Z #2's stretch—may need support/training soon Potentially bump Heisenberg to 90-100% light if she continues handling 80% well Consider light defoliation if any plants need better airflow/light penetration to lower bud sites Stick with half-strength bloom formula—if it ain't broke, don't fix it! The flowers are coming! Week 7 means we're officially in the home stretch. Each week from here brings noticeable changes. 🔥🌿 Sometimes the best grow weeks are the ones where nothing goes wrong. Here's to boring, steady progress! ✌️

DaveJohnson Week 8: Flower - The Final Countdown & Comeback Stories 🔍🌸 We're in the home stretch with one plant, while the others continue their journey through flower. Despite the challenges earlier in the grow, these resilient ladies are proving that recovery is possible with patience and proper care. Gorilla Z #1 (Planted 12/5) - Final Stages! She's almost there! This girl is in her final flowering phase, and it's time to start thinking harvest. The jeweler's loupe is en route from Amazon. once it arrives, I'll be checking those trichomes daily to nail the perfect harvest window. What I'm Looking For: Cloudy/milky trichomes (peak THC) 10-20% amber trichomes (balanced effect) Minimal clear trichomes remaining Current Feeding: Full strength General Hydroponics Bloom Trio Cal-Mag Liquid Kool Bloom pH 6.7 She's getting everything she needs to finish strong. Those final weeks are where the magic happens—trichome production, terpene development, and that last push of density. Gorilla Z #2 - Early Flower Warrior Still in early-to-mid flower, this one's on a different timeline. She's also battling back from the overwatering incident a couple weeks ago, but she's showing serious resilience. Recovery Progress: New growth looks healthy, bud sites are developing, and she's regaining that vigor. The roots are bouncing back! Current Feeding: Full strength General Hydroponics Bloom Trio Cal-Mag Liquid Kool Bloom Same nutrient program as her sister—the full-strength bloom formula is exactly what she needs to catch up and maximize her remaining flower time. Both Gorilla Z's - The Comeback is Real Real talk: That overwatering fiasco from a few weeks back could have ended these grows. Severely wilted leaves, rust spots, the whole nine yards. But here we are—both plants fought back and are now producing respectable flowers. What helped the recovery: Letting soil dry out completely before resuming watering Removing damaged leaves to reduce plant stress Returning to consistent feeding schedule once roots recovered Patience—giving them time to bounce back without panicking Not every mistake is fatal. Sometimes plants just need time and proper care to recover. Heisenberg - The Spider Farmer Superstar Over in the Spider Farmer tent, Heisenberg is absolutely THRIVING. She's loving that stronger light intensity and responding with impressive bulk. Current Status: Light: 90%+ on the SF3000 (possibly higher—she's handling it like a champ) Bud Development: Bulking up nicely, dense flower formation Health: Vibrant and vigorous Current Feeding: Full strength General Hydroponics Bloom formula Cal-Mag Liquid Kool Bloom She's proof that proper lighting makes a MASSIVE difference in flower quality and density. The SF3000 at high intensity is giving her everything she needs. Key Observations & Lessons The waiting game: Gorilla Z #1 is SO close, but patience is key. Harvesting too early = leaving potency and yield on the table. That loupe can't arrive soon enough! Resilience is real: The Gorilla Z plants came back from severe overwatering. Not perfectly, but enough to produce solid flowers. Never count a plant out too early. Light = Yield: Heisenberg's performance in the Spider Farmer tent with strong light is a clear reminder that adequate lighting during flower is non-negotiable for quality results. Different timelines: Having plants at different flower stages is actually beneficial for learning—you get to observe and manage multiple phases simultaneously. Next Week's Plan Gorilla Z #1: Daily trichome checks once loupe arrives, prepare for harvest (flush decision coming soon) Gorilla Z #2: Continue full-strength bloom feeding, monitor recovery progress Heisenberg: Maintain current feeding and lighting, possibly increase light to 90-100% if she shows she can handle it All plants: Monitor for any late-stage issues, ensure proper airflow and humidity control We're in the final stretch! The finish line is in sight for Gorilla Z #1, and the others aren't far behind. 🏁🔥 Week 8 flower: Where patience meets payoff. Almost there! 💎🌿

DaveJohnson Week 9: Flower - The First Harvest & Final Countdown! ✂️🌿 THE BIG CHOP IS DONE! Gorilla Z #1 has been harvested, and we're officially in the drying phase. Meanwhile, the remaining ladies are marching toward their own finish lines. Gorilla Z #1 - HARVESTED! 🎉 She's down! After weeks of growth, recovery from overwatering, and pushing through to the end, this girl finally got the chop. Trichome Check: Mostly cloudy/milky (peak THC production ✓) A few amber trichomes starting to show Minimal clear trichomes Harvest Timing: Honestly? I was in a rush—ran out of flower to smoke! 😅 But the trichomes were in a good window, so it worked out. Sometimes necessity makes the decision for you. Could've waited for more amber for a heavier effect, but she was ready enough. What's Next: Drying phase begins now Aiming for slow dry (60°F, 60% humidity if possible) Then comes the cure—patience will be tested again! The Relief: Finally got some homegrown coming down the pipeline. The timing couldn't be better! Gorilla Z #2 - End of Month Finish She's still chugging along in mid-to-late flower. Based on her current progression, she should be ready by the end of the month. Current Status: Buds filling out nicely Still getting full-strength bloom nutrients Recovery from overwatering is complete—she's back to full health Feeding Schedule: Full strength General Hydroponics Bloom Trio Cal-Mag Liquid Kool Bloom She'll stay on this program for another week or two, then transition to water-only flush before harvest. Heisenberg - Two Weeks Out & Starting the Flush! 💧 She's in the final stretch! About 2 weeks away from harvest, which means it's time to transition to the flush. The Flush Begins TODAY: Water only from here on out No more nutrients Flushing helps the plant use up stored nutrients in the leaves and buds Results in smoother smoke and cleaner taste Why flush? Removes excess salts and nutrients from the medium Forces plant to metabolize stored nutrients Improves final product quality (smoothness, taste, ash color) The leaves will fade and yellow—this is GOOD and expected during flush Current Status: Buds are dense and frosty Loving the Spider Farmer tent environment Healthy and vigorous despite approaching finish Key Observations & Real Talk Harvest #1 in the books! There's something incredibly satisfying about chopping your first plant of the cycle. All the work, the stress, the learning—it all comes together in that moment with scissors in hand. The staggered timeline is actually perfect: Gorilla Z #1: Harvested (drying now) Heisenberg: 2 weeks out (flush started) Gorilla Z #2: End of month (~3 weeks out) This spread means I won't be overwhelmed with trimming and drying all at once. Plus, continuous harvests = continuous supply! Running out of smoke as motivation: Look, we've all been there. Sometimes the best harvest window is "I'm out and I need flower NOW." 😂 The trichomes were good enough, and that's what matters. The Home Stretch Strategy For Heisenberg (flush phase): Plain water only, pH'd to 6.5 Monitor trichomes closely Watch for fade (yellowing leaves = plant eating itself = good!) Start thinking about chop day in 10-14 days For Gorilla Z #2: Continue full bloom nutrients for 1-2 more weeks Then begin her flush Harvest late February For Gorilla Z #1 (drying): Hang dry in dark, controlled environment Check daily—don't rush it! Stems should snap, not bend, when ready for cure Then into jars for the cure (the hardest wait of all) Next Week's Plan Monitor Gorilla Z #1 drying progress (resist the urge to sample too early!) Continue water-only flush on Heisenberg Keep feeding Gorilla Z #2 full strength Daily trichome checks on Heisenberg as harvest approaches Prep trimming station and cure jars for upcoming harvests Start planning the NEXT grow! 🌱 We're in the final stretch! One down, two to go. The finish line is in sight, and the reward is almost here. 🏁🔥 First harvest complete. Drying tent smells AMAZING. The wait for cure is going to be brutal but worth it! 💚✂️

DaveJohnson Week 10: Flower - Gorilla Z Consistency & Heisenberg's Final Push 🦍✂️ Gorilla Z #2 - The Spider Farmer Transfer Big move this week! She's been relocated to the Spider Farmer tent under the SF3000 light, and the transition has been seamless. Current Status: Adjusting beautifully to the stronger light intensity Mid-to-late flower development continuing strong No signs of light stress despite the intensity upgrade Should finish strong with that premium SF3000 light quality Why the move worked: By this point in flower, plants can handle—and benefit from—stronger light. More photons = more energy for bud development. The SF3000 is giving her everything she needs for a strong finish. Heisenberg - Chunky Monsters & Harvest Countdown 🥊 THE BUDS ARE MASSIVE. We're talking fist-sized nugs—the kind of buds that make you stop and stare. This is what proper flower development looks like under quality lighting. Trichome Status (Mixed Bag): ~50% cloudy/milky ✓ ~40-45% still clear ~5-10% amber The Situation: Not quite ready yet, but close. Ideally, you want 70-80% cloudy with 10-20% amber for that perfect harvest window. The Feeding Regret: Real talk—I cut her feeding off last week and probably jumped the gun. Should've given her one more week of nutrients before starting the flush. Why it matters: Those final weeks of feeding are when plants pack on the most weight and resin. Cutting nutrients too early can leave yield and potency on the table. The Plan: Hoping to chop by end of this week or early next week Will monitor trichomes daily Looking for more cloudy, less clear The amber percentage is good—just need those clear ones to cloud up Lesson learned: When in doubt, feed for one more week. You can always flush faster if needed, but you can't go back and add nutrients once you've started the flush. Key Observations & Real Talk Gorilla Z is THE strain for reliability: If you want something that grows itself and always delivers quality, this is it. Resilient, consistent, aromatic—everything you want in a cannabis plant. Great for beginners, but experienced growers appreciate it too. Light intensity matters in late flower: Gorilla Z #2's smooth transition to the SF3000 proves that plants in mid-late flower can handle (and thrive under) strong light. Don't be afraid to push intensity when they're ready. Timing the flush is an art: Heisenberg's situation is a reminder that it's better to feed one week too long than one week too short. Those final feedings are crucial for maximizing yield and potency. Patience pays off: Even though I'm eager to chop Heisenberg, waiting for those trichomes to properly mature is the difference between good weed and GREAT weed. A few more days won't kill me. Next Week's Plan Heisenberg: Daily trichome checks with the loupe Watching for 70-80% cloudy, 10-20% amber Harvest likely end of this week or early next week Prep drying space and trimming station Gorilla Z #2: Continue bloom feeding under the SF3000 Monitor response to the stronger light Likely 2-3 weeks out from her own harvest May start her flush in 7-10 days Post-Harvest Prep: Clean and prep drying area Get trimming scissors sharp Prepare cure jars Start planning the next grow cycle 🌱 The Finish Line: Heisenberg is DAYS away from the chop. Gorilla Z #2 isn't far behind. The tent is smelling INCREDIBLE. We're so close! 🏁🔥 Week 10: When the buds are fist-sized and the trichomes are almost there. Patience is the final test. 💎🌿
