Celebrated May the 4th proper by germinating this little Padawan. Seed was dropped directly into rapid rooter, and left in darkness for 48 hours. After the 48 hours of darkness, she was moved into a sunny window atop a heating pad to maintain a daytime temp of around 80°F and 80% relative humidity. After one day in the window (3 days post seed drop), she broke ground - but the proximal end of the taproot was a bit exposed. To remedy this, I cut the rapid rooter lengthwise so that I could re-seat her deeper down into the rooter to prevent drying out of the taproot. She responded just as I hoped. ✌️ Day 4 - moved her into the grow tent under California Lightworks 550 Solar System LED on settings R39 W49 B99. She completely bounced back after reseting the taproot further down in the rooter. Since my seedlings outgrew the humidity dome, I moved in a humidifier to maintain 60-60% humidity. Since my basement hasn't warmed up as much as I had hoped, I have my seedling tray sitting on a heating pad to keep them warm. Spring IS here, isn't it? Day 8 - Transplanted seedling into net basket using expanded clay pellets as grow media. Healthy root system!

Day 12 - Gave my plants their first feeding today. I gave 1/4 of the recommended dose of Veg A and Veg B and a full dose of Coco Cal & UC Roots. Skywalker's roots are looking healthy, and I am loving her thick, juicy, indica-esque leaves. 😍🤤 Day 13 - moved grow lights down to 33"above the canopy. Day 14 - Moved lights down to 30"

Day 18 - This plant's leaves are just so fat and happy. I love how thick and healthy she looks! Trying to decide how I'm going to grow this one.... Maybe a top ✂️? Day 20 - Gave 3ml of Veg A, Veg B and Coco Cal. Girl is fat and happy!

Day 22 - Complete reservoir change. Skywalker's root system. Is super white and pristine. I fed 3ml of Coco Cal Veg A&B. Waiting to top this one at the 6th node. Any day now. Day 24 - Fed 6ml Coco Cal and 3ml Veg A&B. Day 25 - Removed two of her large fan leaves that were blocking lower bud sites. Topped at 6th node

This poor plant has played victim to a bit of a learning curve of an experience, and as always I am grateful. For some reason this plant isn't stretching up and giving me height between nodes to work with for training. I think it was a perfect storm of underfeeding and perhaps not kicking up my red light spectrum quick enough in the beginning of the grow. She also had a limb unintentionally snapped off. All in all, she just appears stressed to me. The lack of stretch between nodes really gimps my ability to do any solid LST, but it also made it a very short bushy plant with everything packed way too close together. I got her tied down and defoliated. I've been using some stem bending to try and separate what growth she DOES have in an attempt to allow for more adequate airflow and light exposure. I'm interested to see how she changes over the next few days. ............. She's looking like a train wreck but I believe she'll be an underdog! I removed some undergrowth and had to make some sacrifices in the name of air circulation and bud site exposure.... But I'm hoping what limbs she has left will give me something good. 😉

Flipping to flower at day 40. Completed a total reservoir change at day 38 and switched to bloom nutes. This plant has been incredibly challenging with the super tight internodal spacing.... What I want to take away from this is the importance of dialing in the correct light spectrum for stage of growth. In the beginning, I didn't flip from seedling spectrum into veg when I should have, and as a result I had a lack of red to balance out the blue and ended up getting a short, stout bush. She might not be the beast her tentmate is turning into, but her structure reminds me a lot of the structure that my Blue Dream'matic gave me, and I ended up being truly surprised by the results of that one! Let the flowering begin!

Skywalker OG... What are you doing?!?! I don't know WHAT I did to make this girl not like me but she will just NOT stretch. She stands at 6 inches tall and her leaves always look a little weird and weak. I have a couple of pictures of her next to her tentmate (GSC Extreme) who is the same age and got the same amount of TLC and looks like a bush compared to this li'l shrub. Absolutely open to hearing any opinions as to why she may be growing this way. It's interesting to say the least. I went through and removed quite a bit of lower shutes that would never see the light of day and did nothing but clutter the plant and block air flow. Her branches don't feel weak, but I would definitely not describe them as strong. I te-tied a bunch of branches in an effort to open her up a bit more and get some more light to those weak looking budsites. I'm so curious to see how this one unfolds. ✌️💜🌱

Now that she's got the smallest bit of stretch finally happening, I went in and removed a LOT of lower undergrowth that I was hoping would have stretched into the light, but didn't quite make it. Pistils are coming in- she took a few days longer than her tentmate to kick into flower, but she's moving along... Just at her own slow, squatopatomus pace. 💜✌️🌱

I have had to remove an abundant amount of undergrowth, but it's finally paying off! We are both finally pleased with the amount of air circulation. It took her a few days longer than her tentmate to kick into flower, but now she's letting herself shine. 😊

This plant has been SUCH A CHALLENGE! Most definitely takes the cake for plant with the tightest internodal spacing I've ever had to try and work with! I boosted her up on a crate to even out the tent canopy, as her tentmate is more than double her size. Gave her a reservoir change and another bit of defoliation. She's about ready to burst out of her "ugly duckling" phase and into va-va-voomhood! Worth noting that this plant is very different in appearance compared to others I've grown. The leaves are very thick and dark green, and fan leaves all have dark reddish stems and are fairly small, and the pistils are yellowish in color (which for some reason I can't get to show up well in pictures. Super cool to appreciate the different traits of different strains. I'm still a new grower so everything just seems magical. 🤩💜✨

Nothing too eventful this week. Keeping her fed and happy. Next week I plan to defoliate a bit to open her up a bit more. The buds coming in are COVERED in trichomes!

Hung up my new California Lightworks UVB supplement light. I think I originally hung it a bit too close (18 inches from canopy) based on the subtle color change in the leaves, so I raised it up to 24" above the canopy. I was most certainly skeptical, since this is my first time using UVB, but even over the course of its first week under the bulbs I've notice a VERY visible increase in trichomes. Every one of this plant's buds is COVERED in trichomes! It looks like someone sprinkled sugar all over the damn place!

Buds are filling out nicely and are exceptionally frosty! I moved my lights even further away from the canopy, but I am most certainly experiencing some heat stress that I'm trying my best to work through. Added an additional vortex fan to keep the air circulating as optimally as possible.

A pretty uneventful week. The amount of trichomes flooding these buds is unreal! I busted out the microscope to get a closer look. Still have a couple weeks left. Let the trichome watch begin!

Moved the UVB light further to about 3 feet above the canopy. I'm still learning to find the sweet spot with this led/UVB combo. The Trichome watch continues.

Coming in on a finish for this little mama! I took her outside and gave her a defoliation to remove as many of the heat stressed foliage as possible. These buds are VERY dense and super frosty!

We're in the sweet spot! About 25% amber, the rest nice, plump, and milky! Drained her reservoir and gave her a nice, fresh reservoir. I'm giving her a 3 day flush with 2 days of darkness to finish her out. I added a gallon of refrigerated r/o water to give her a nice little chill. 😎
